Michael: Are you coming?

Mia: Is your air conditioner working?

Michael: We shall see.

Aidan: If he tries anything, you'll hear it, and I値l stop him.

Mia: I think I found something.

Aidan: Nothing but static.

Kendall: No.

Carlos: You hit on me.

Mary: I was being friendly.

Erica: I need information that could destroy a person's life.

Tad: Who are we thinking of blackmailing?

[Captioning made possible by ABC, Inc., and Soapnet]

Mary: You are so amazing. No wonder Greenlee can't resist you.

Tad: Thank God you finally got the air conditioning going in this place. I was going to go over to the gym, take a sauna after this is over, but I don't see the point in being redundant.

Erica: Ok, Tad, what do you have?

Tad: That's it? No small talk? You're not even going to offer me some more water?

Erica: Forget the water, Tad. Come on, tell me. What did you find out about Mary Smythe?

Tad: This.

Erica: I knew I could count on you. What are you doing?

Tad: I think we need to have a little talk.

Erica: Well, after I see what's in the folder, we can talk all you want.

Tad: Call it a hunch, but I think the longer I hang on to this the more willing you'll be to chat.

Erica: Tad, what is it? Do you want more money? Fine. I mean, name your price.

Tad: Come on, Erica. You know me better than that. I don't want money. I want something else.

Mia: You know, we really ought to disinfect this cut before we get ourselves all distracted.

Michael: What cut?

Mia: Come on. Kendall really did a number on you.

Michael: Well, you know, it's funny. Ever since you offered to play nurse, I really feel much better.

Mia: Mm-hmm.

Kendall: Ugh, I can't hear Mia or Michael.

Aidan: Yeah, me neither. The only thing I got is static.

Kendall: Well, can't you do something to fix the receiver?

Aidan: It's not the receiver. It's Mia's wire. It's not picking anything up.

Kendall: Oh, great, Aidan. I thought you were, like, the James Bond gadget guru. If you don't --

Aidan: Shh. I hear a voice.

Kendall: Mia's? Michael's?

Aidan: No, no, no. Yours.

Kendall: Mine?

Aidan: There it is again.

Kendall: Yeah, I知 right here. What are you talking about? What are you doing? Come on, Aidan, we are wasting time. This is ridiculous.

Aidan: No, no, keep doing it. This is something.

Kendall: No. We have to get in there now. This -- what are you doing?

Aidan: Damn.

Kendall: What is it?

Aidan: Mia's wire.

Kendall: Oh. Damn it.

Michael: Well, I hope you don't mind me expressing my gratitude.

Mia: Ugh --

Michael: What?

Mia: Nothing. I just --

Michael: What? You just what? What exactly is the problem here?

Mia: I知 sorry. I知 just -- I知 just a little jumpy.

Michael: Oh, well, not on my account, I hope.

Mia: Oh, no. No, no, no, no, no. Just had a miserable day, you know, that just seemed to go on forever. And then how did it end? I get in an argument with Kendall, and I have to work with her. You know.

Aidan: That's it. I知 getting her out.

Kendall: No. Come on, Aidan, no. You can't go in there.

Michael: No, fortunately, there is a sure cure for high-strung females. And I致e got several bottles of it. So what would you like, red or white?

Mia: Oh, red would be perfect.

Michael: All right, red it is.

Mia: Ok.

Kendall: Ok, if you go in there, you will ruin everything.

Aidan: And if I don't go in there, that pig might do to her what he tried to do to you and to Erica. You really want to wait around and see what happens?

Kendall: Just give Mia five minutes to find a file, a photo -- something to incriminate Michael.

Aidan: And leave Mia in there by herself? She thinks that we can hear her.

Kendall: We haven't gone this far to give up, have we?

Aidan: If it's a choice between that or putting Mia in danger, absolutely.

Kendall: Mia -- you know what? She's fine. She can handle herself. She's not as dumb as she looks. Plus, she's a kickboxer, ok? If he lays one hand on her, she'll kick him where it counts. Trust me.

Michael: Cambias Industries owns part of a vineyard of France, so this is very special reserve.

Mia: Nice.

Michael: Mm-hmm. So, why don't you share that with the class, Mia.

Mia: Um -- what?

Michael: Whatever it is you stuck in your pocket.

Mary: I didn't know you cared.

Carlos: I don稚.

Mary: Really? But I thought that you were just --

Carlos: You thought wrong.

Mary: Well, then, you're a very hard man to read.

Carlos: Well, then, read this -- never ever place your hands on me again.

Mary: Obviously, you misunderstood me.

Carlos: Oh, I know you more than you think. You think everything should be handed to you on a silver platter. When it's not, you just take it.

Mary: Very crudely put, but it's not the world's worst philosophy.

Carlos: Even when you hurt people to get what you want?

Mary: Poor Carlos, did I just hurt you?

Carlos: Mary, you could never hurt me, but you hurt your daughter, Greenlee.

Mary: Why? Because I offered you a little comfort in the heat, and I gave you a compliment? That's not going to bother Greenlee unless you tell her.

Carlos: So, first, I should cheat on your daughter with her mother and then lie about it?

Mary: Carlos, please. Lighten up. A little less on the "Oprah." A simple "No, thanks" will do.

Carlos: You're not going to use me to hurt her.

Mary: You're accusing me of hurting her after what you've done to her?

Carlos: What have I done to her?

Mary: You took advantage of her before she finished grieving for her husband. You probably seduced her in some supply closet somewhere.

Carlos: You know, you're a real piece of work, lady. You think you just know it all.

Mary: And you think you're going to cash in on a romance with a little rich white girl, aren't you? Well, don't fool yourself, Pancho, because Greenlee痴 going to end this romance the second she meets a halfway decent man who doesn't wear a T-shirt with his name on it! You're not good enough for my daughter! You were not good enough the day you were born, and you never will be!

Erica: Tad, just give me the information on Mary Smythe, and I値l give you whatever you want -- within reason.

Tad: I think you'll find this to be very reasonable, ok? I don't want a dime. I just want to know one thing -- why?

Erica: Why?

Tad: Yeah, why? You wanted me to dig up the dirt on Mary Smythe. I have. But you never answered my question -- why?

Erica: Why do you need to know why?

Tad: Well, I couldn't tell you until I know what it is I知 involved in or what you're keeping from me. So I tell you what -- you answer my question, I値l answer yours.

Erica: Tad, I知 not keeping anything from you. I just believe in working on a need-to-know basis.

Tad: I need to know.

Erica: Why?

Tad: Because -- I mean, call me crazy, but I want to be in the loop when I知 involved in blackmail.

Erica: Tad, who said anything about blackmail?

Tad: Erica, come on. You know how much I love you. But you called me up over here to do a background check. That was a lie. It wasn't even a very good one.

Erica: Well, I bow to your very considerable expertise on the subject.

Tad: Touch. I couldn't help but wonder why you would want to go after somebody like Mary Smythe, so I did a little more than scratching around in her past.

Erica: Oh?

Tad: I did some checking on her recent activities. Turns out she's been paying a lot of attention to Jackson Montgomery, sending flowers --

Erica: Jackson? Really?

Tad: Come on, I知 not a fool. You're Erica Kane. Ok, your radar goes off the minute any competition's within 50 miles of your fianc.

Erica: Tad, Mary Smythe is not competition.

Tad: No, she's not. Especially considering what I found out. So why would you want to neutralize somebody like that?

Erica: Tad, why don't you just take that big fat check I owe you and leave it at that?

Tad: No.

Erica: Tad --

Tad: No, I知 sorry.

Erica: Give it to me!

Tad: Come on, just be reasonable, ok?

Erica: I am being very reasonable.

Tad: I know -- I spent a lot of time doing this, Erica.

Erica: Tad, Tad, Tad!

Tad: Do you mind? Do you mind? That hurts. You're standing on my foot.

Erica: Would you stop it and just give me what I want!

Tad: No.

Erica: Tad!

Adam: Ms. Kundera. Oh, thank you. I値l let you know when I知 finished.

Lena: You talk to him like he works for you.

Adam: Considering the taxes I pay, he does. How are they treating you?

Lena: Like a prisoner.

Adam: No doubt. A few words to the right people could make your life a good deal more pleasant -- better food, maybe some privacy.

Lena: Mr. Chandler --

Adam: Yes.

Lena: What do you want?

Adam: I want to help you, if you'll let me.

Lena: I don't believe you.

Adam: Is there any reason you shouldn't?

Lena: Is there any reason I should? Come on, Michael Cambias sent you here, didn't he?

Adam: No, no, no, no, Michael Cambias doesn't send me anywhere. Nobody sends me anywhere. People take orders from me. That's why I知 in a position to help you.

Lena: Why would you do that?

Adam: Because you have something I want. If you'll give it to me, I値l give you what you want.

Lena: Thank you very much, but right now I doubt even you could manage that.

Adam: I知 talking about your freedom, Ms. Kundera. I知 in a position to get the insider-trading charges against you dropped. Otherwise, you may be looking at steel bars for quite a while.

Lena: I知 not guilty, and that's the truth.

Adam: Well, the truth is one thing, but getting people to believe it, that's something else.

Lena: Well, they'll just have to. I was set up by Mi--

Adam: What? What?

Lena: I知 wasting my breath. You employ Michael Cambias. You obviously trust him, so you're here to help him, not me.

Adam: And how would I help him?

Lena: By tricking me into incriminating myself, by making me break down and tell you what you want to hear so I go to prison for this scam that Michael obviously set up.

Adam: You don't strike me as someone who's easily broken.

Lena: No, I知 not. I won't confess to something I didn't do, but I値l offer you something much more valuable.

Adam: Such as?

Lena: Advice. Don't protect Michael. He'll turn on you just like he turned on everybody else.

Adam: Yeah. I知 not here to protect Michael, and I知 certainly not interested in your confession.

Lena: What do you want?

Adam: I want my stocks back.

Lena: Mr. Chandler, I don't have your stocks. I never did.

Adam: Yeah, I know. I know that.

Lena: You do?

Adam: Oh, yes. I know Michael Cambias set you up. Matter of fact, I want nothing more in the world than to prove it. And I can, with your help. You still doubt me.

Lena: I don't know you, Mr. Chandler, but I know your reputation.

Adam: Really? What have you heard about me?

Lena: That you manipulate people. And you're manipulating me right now.

Adam: Not successfully, I知 afraid.

Lena: No. You're right. It won't work. It's funny, but when you have nothing left to lose, it gives you a kind of power. Now, would you please leave me alone?

Adam: I understand your reluctance, Ms. Kundera, but it seems I知 the only one that's still in your corner. There's no one who believes Michael set you up except me.

Lena: Why would you believe me?

Adam: Because I know Michael Cambias, and I want to crush him as much as you do.

Lena: I only have your word for that.

Adam: Take a chance. Together we can bring him down. What do you have to lose, Lena?

Erica: Come on, Tad! Give it to me!

Bianca: Mother!

Erica: Bianca. I didn't hear you.

Bianca: Yeah, I figured. What are you guys doing?

Tad: Working.

Erica: Nothing.

Bianca: Well, that didn't look like work.

Tad: Well, the great ones make it look so easy.

Erica: Bianca, I don't know what it looked like, but believe me --

Bianca: Mom, you're doing it again, aren't you?

Erica: What?

Bianca: You're playing one man against the other so that you don't have to commit to either one of them?

Erica: Oh, Bianca, no.

Bianca: Yours and Uncle Jack's on-again, off-again engagement is on again, so now you're using Tad to avoid Uncle Jack.

Erica: Bianca, this -- you are completely misreading the situation. Believe me. No, I hired Tad to do some investigative work for Enchantment.

Bianca: Really?

Erica: Yes, really. Look, Tad will tell you himself what he's doing here. Tell her.

Tad: Oh, yeah. No, no. It's the truth. She hired me to do the P.I. thing. She wanted me to look into --

Erica: Yeah, you see?

Bianca: All right, well -- what's with the gymnastics?

Erica: That? Oh, that was Tad being Tad.

Tad: Yeah. Apparently, I can't help it.

Erica: Bianca, we will talk later.

Bianca: All right. I just wanted to give you this.

Erica: Yeah, but just -- it'll have to wait. I知 sorry.

Bianca: Ok, well, I got a phone call from Greenlee Smythe about the counter change at Lacey痴 --

Erica: Oh, Greenlee -- that monster. Oh, I知 sure she called. She wants to rub it in. Well, do not call her back.

Bianca: Oh, all right.

Erica: And, in fact, if she calls back, you tell her I never want to have anything to do with her again. In fact, I never want to hear her name ever again.

Bianca: Fine. I may not use those words. Bye.

Erica: Ok, Tad, give me the folder on Mary Smythe, take your check, and go. What?

Tad: I got it.

Erica: What?

Tad: I just figured out why you want to blackmail Mary Smythe.

Michael: You know, why don't you tell me exactly what it is that is in your pocket.

Mia: Nothing important.

Michael: Really? Well, I値l be the judge of that. It's a funny thing. I like to know what's going on underneath my roof.

Mia: Sure. Yeah. It's just a couple of these. You know, I just -- I didn't want to leave them lying around your house.

[Mia laughs]

Michael: That's cute.

Mia: Yeah.

Michael: That's very cute. The neat freak meets the control freak. You know, I think this is going to be the start of a beautiful friendship.

[Pounding on door]

Michael: What the hell is that?

Aidan: Mia, are you in there?

Mia: Oh, my God.

Michael: Is that the Limey?

Aidan: Sorry, but the name is Aidan.

Michael: Yeah, well, I think if you don't get out of my house right now, you're going to be the defendant.

Aidan: Sure. I値l go, but not alone. Mia, what are you doing here? I pull Kendall away from the bar to stop her from hassling you, and this is how you thank me? By leaving with this creep?

Michael: Well, I think that's her business, pal.

Aidan: Excuse me. I知 talking to the lady.

Michael: Yeah, and just who is the lady to you, Tinkerbell?

Aidan: There. That proves it.

Mia: What proved what?

Aidan: I kissed you, and you kissed me back. Now, you didn't seem to mind, and where I come from, it looks like you belong with me.

Michael: I didn't realize they had cavemen in England.

Aidan: Why don't you just shut up. Mia, I really thought we had something. After those nights we spent together, I thought we had something solid.

Mia: I --

Aidan: When Kendall said that you had your eye on this creep, I thought she was crazy.

Mia: He --

Aidan: How could you just leave there? How could you leave with this creep? I知 not leaving here until you give me an explanation.

Mia: You think that the couple of nights that we spent together give you exclusive rights to me?

Aidan: I知 not saying another word in front of this guy. Now, we're leaving now.

Mia: I am not.

Michael: The lady said no, and no means no. Besides, aren't you with that Maureen woman?

Mia: Oh, no, no. She's history. I知 the rebound, but not anymore. If you don't mind, I would rather be something more than a consolation prize to someone.

Aidan: Excuse me, I do mind. Look, I知 taking you home right now. Do you understand?

Michael: Get your hands off, or I値l break every finger.

Mia: Hey, guys, stop.

Aidan: Oh, really? You want to try something?

Mia: No, cut it out! No, it's fine. Listen, listen, Aidan -- Aidan痴 right. I really do owe him sort of an explanation, Michael. Just let me deal with this. I think I should.

Aidan: Seems like a yes to me.

Mia: Yeah.

Carlos: Yeah. Que? Que? Tu! Hermano, tu me prometiste Que me lo ibas a dar! Oh -- look, you get what I want, and I will pay! You don't get what I want, and you will pay! Do you understand me?

Simone: Well. Hi.

Carlos: Hello.

Simone: So, who was that that you were threatening?

Carlos: That wasn't a threat.

Simone: Oh, please tell me that wasn't your idea of warm and cuddly.

Carlos: I was just a little disappointed.

Simone: Disappointed? Carlos, you were a 6.0 on the Richter scale.

Carlos: I ordered something.

Simone: Mm-hmm.

Carlos: And now it's going to be late. It's for Greenlee. We're going to have a special night.

Simone: So, get it from someplace else.

Carlos: Simone, you just don't snap your fingers for a bottle of Chateau Margaux 1995.

Simone: A bottle of what?

Carlos: Just some wine.

Simone: Are you kidding me? A bottle of Chateau Margaux 1995 is just some wine the way caviar is just a snack.

Carlos: So you've had some.

Simone: Well, not on what I make here. But maybe I should rethink my profession and go into handymanning.

Carlos: Oh, come on, Simone.

Simone: What?

Carlos: I was going to buy with the last of the money I made from Stuart痴.

Simone: Oh, Stuart Chandler's exhibit on outsiders' art? Oh, yeah. Well, gee, if you made enough money to afford a bottle of Chateau Margaux, let me be the first one to congratulate you. You're not an outsider anymore. Can I ask you a question?

Carlos: What?

Simone: Who the hell are you?

Erica: I wish you'd stop calling it blackmail.

Tad: Indulge me for a second. Let's just start with the basic facts and see where those lead us, all right? Number one, Jackson collapses from internal bleeding. Number two, turns out he needs a blood donor with a very rare phenotype.

Erica: You call this a private investigation? My goodness, Tad, you could have learned this just reading the newspaper.

Tad: Now, at the hospital, my father informs you that it would be miraculous if they could find somebody with that blood type. It'd have to be somebody's immediate family. And then miraculously somebody shows up. Here's the kicker -- it's not Bianca, the one blood relative he has in all Pine Valley.

Erica: Well, I guess that just shows how lucky we are. Miracles do happen.

Tad: Yeah, I guess. But you look like you were the one that needed a transfusion when I told you about Jack's request that I find his blood donor.

Erica: Well, because I was so worried about him, and I didn't want Jack to worry.

Tad: Yeah, but then you asked me to come up with something thermonuclear on Mary Smythe, who just happens to be the woman that's hovering around Jack right now.

Erica: You know something? I致e changed my mind. I don't want to hear this.

Tad: So I guess you kind of wanted me to get to Mary before she told Jack all about --

Erica: You can just stop right there.

Tad: Maybe you should stop.

Erica: What?

Tad: Just -- don't get mad, all right? Just hear me out for a second, please.

Erica: Why?

Tad: Because come on, Erica, if they gave out Olympic medals for scheming, you and I would both be on the front of cereal boxes. We both found out the hard way what happens when you keep secrets from people you love.

Erica: There. There. Ok. So, thank you, and you can go now, Tad. I will put your check in the mail tomorrow morning. I promise. And, of course, I expect complete confidentiality. Don't tell anybody what you found out about Mary Smythe.

Tad: What, are you insane? I don't want to be the reason this thing detonates. I don't want to be in Pine Valley when it does. I知 kind of sorry I got involved in the first place.

Erica: Well, then, consider yourself uninvolved, and this transaction and this conversation never happened.

Tad: Agreed. I知 still kind of hoping that you'll come to your senses.

Erica: Thank you, Tad.

Tad: You're welcome.

Erica: Bye.

Tad: Ok, fine. I tried, you know. My conscience is clear, which is something that happens about as often as a solar eclipse, so, miracles do happen.

Mary's voice: I just find it so uncommon for a blood match to be found outside the family. How lucky is Jack that he beat those odds? Hmm. He must have an angel sitting on his shoulder.

Erica: Oh, good. Really good.

Adam: What does he drink?

Lena: What?

Aidan: When he's at a bar, what does he order?

Lena: If it's business, whatever the other person's having, and then he pretends it's his favorite, too.

Adam: Yeah, a cheap trick.

Lena: It works.

Adam: But every man has a private self. What does he order when he's not trying to impress someone else, when he's just being himself?

Lena: I don't know. I wonder if Michael's ever really himself. I don't know if he dares to be. Look, do you mind if we stop?

Adam: You promised me information.

Lena: Oh, yes, I知 beginning to wish you asked for confession.

Adam: All right, all right, you take a break. You earned it.

Lena: I -- I still don't understand.

Adam: What?

Lena: Well, some of these questions -- I mean, ok, Michael and his father, his involvement with the Cambias Industries, that makes sense, but what time he wakes up? His favorite drink? What could you get from such information?

Adam: I don't know. Maybe nothing.

Lena: Then why ask?

Adam: When you're attacking an enemy, you want to find out everything about him. Everything. I mean, everything. And then you wait.

Lena: For what?

Adam: Till something that he does combined with something that you know about him can bring him down. The more you know, the sooner that day will come.

Lena: I hope I知 there when that when that day comes for Michael Cambias.

Adam: I was wrong, wasn't I?

Lena: About what?

Adam: Nobody could hate that man as much as you do.

Lena: Well, it's easier than hating myself for what I did for him.

Adam: You didn't just work for him, did you? He -- he took your life, didn't he?

Lena: Worse. I gave it to him. A man as powerful as you wouldn't understand what it's like to be in that position.

Adam: Actually, I was raised in Pigeon Hollow, West Virginia. I was working in a coal mine when I was 14.

Lena: I see. Maybe you are the man who will bring down Michael Cambias.

Adam: With your help. All right, that's enough for today. We'll continue this tomorrow. Guard, I知 finished here. I値l have my lawyers look into your story, into your case. If they can't find a loophole, they'll create one.

Lena: They're that good?

Adam: Well, they're good, yeah, but they're terrified of me. Good night.

Lena: Single malt scotch on the rocks.

Adam: Excuse me?

Lena: That's what Michael drinks when he's with me, and for him, that's the same as being alone.

Adam: That figures. Never trust a man who doesn't take his scotch neat.

Lena: Officer?

Guard: Yes.

Lena: Did I get any calls?

Guard: No.

Lena: Did anyone stop by asking to see me?

Guard: Sorry. No calls, no visitors.

Erica: Oh. Bianca. Honey, why didn't you answer your phone?

Bianca: Oh, I知 sorry. I went for a walk -- after you kicked me out.

Erica: Oh. I知 sorry. I知 so sorry, honey. Look, I just -- I had this business to finish up with Tad, and the way he loves to chat, I just thought, well, this could go on all night. So I apologize.

Bianca: No. It's ok. I apologize for walking in and finding you two together and assuming the worst.

Erica: Oh, and then I went off on Greenlee. I mean, I just -- I will handle that myself. You don't have to do anything, sweetheart.

Bianca: Oh, well, I -- the only thing I came here to do was give you this. It's the latest youth market survey.

Erica: Well, my goodness, you certainly put a lot of effort into this. Thank you so very much.

Bianca: Well, I had help. I had lots of help from, you know, our folks in the field, but it did turn out to be a pretty big project.

Erica: Because you demand so much of yourself.

Bianca: Well, only because you set the bar so high.

Erica: I know. But you know something? It really -- it suits me. You know, it makes me really happy that I have my work to throw myself into, especially when things aren't going so well in my personal life. And after everything you've been through in your personal life with Lena, I am so happy you had this little diversion.

Bianca: Oh, if this is leading up to an I-told-you-so, then I知 not in the mood.

Erica: No, no, no, honey, never. Please believe me, I -- no one wishes more than I that Lena hadn't hurt you that way. I really wish that I was wrong about Lena.

Bianca: Well, maybe you are.

Erica: Bianca?

Bianca: Well, she hasn't gone to trial yet. She claims she's innocent. Maybe she is.

Erica: Bianca, after all she put you through, how can you even --

Bianca: All right, and you know what? I don't want to talk about Lena right now.

Erica: Yeah, it's getting late. You should just call it a night and go on home to Myrtle's.

Bianca: Well, why don't you come with me? Maybe Myrtle's around. Maybe we can all grab a late supper together?

Erica: Oh, honey, I壇 love that. I知 sorry. I have to stay here. I just -- I have some things to do before I can even begin to wind down.

Bianca: All right, well, what kind of things? Maybe I can help you.

Erica: No, really, I -- no. Just -- you go on. I have an idea, though. Why don't we have breakfast together in the morning, ok? We could discuss some of the details for my wedding.

Bianca: Oh, yeah, that sounds great.

Erica: Ok.

Bianca: I got to warn you, though, I壇 be happy with the cheesiest Las Vegas chapel just as long as you're married to Uncle Jack when all is said and done.

Erica: Oh, honey, I will be. I promise. And I promise you that nothing is going to come between our family's happiness. We've waited for this. Ok, then. Good night, sweetheart. Love you.

Bianca: Ok. Good night.

Erica: Good night.

Bianca: I love you, too.

Carlos: What do you mean, who am I? I知 Carlos.

Simone: Yeah. But you're not acting like yourself. I mean, where is the sweet, patient guy, Mr. Fixer-upper, who never gets angry at anyone?

Carlos: Everybody gets a little mad sometimes.

Simone: Yeah, sure. There's mad, and then there's whatever it is that you call you were doing. I mean, you're ripping into someone on the phone, screaming threats like you're the King of Spain.

Carlos: Simone, come on.

Simone: And then I find out you're buying a bottle of wine for Greenlee -- one that you'd have to be the King of Spain to afford. It's like, out of nowhere, you're a totally different guy.

Carlos: I知 the same guy.

Simone: Uh-huh.

Carlos: I just blew up. I知 sorry. I知 sorry.

Simone: Don't be sorry at me.

Carlos: I知 just letting people get to me.

Simone: Like Greenlee痴 mama? I ran into her in the hall.

Carlos: I致e had it with her and everybody like her. They think they can run your life, everybody's life, and then they think you want everything they do.

Simone: Yeah, well, you know, I wouldn't mind the money part of it. Unfortunately, we really don't have much choice about that, do we?

Carlos: No. You always have a choice. I mean, that's why I choose to be my own man. That's why I decided to just take --

Simone: That's why you decided to what?

Mia: I am so grateful you guys rescued me from Michael's condo. Thank you so much.

Aidan: You didn't make it very easy. I play the jilted lover and tell you to come with me, and what do you say? "No."

Mia: I had to, or Michael would have gotten suspicious if I agreed too quickly.

Aidan: Another second, and I would have had to fight the guy.

Mia: I love that. You made the jealousy part very real.

Kendall: Yeah, a little too real if you ask me.

Mia: And the wire -- I can't believe it fell out of my hair. Michael was coming on so strong.

Kendall: Hmm. He wasn't the only one.

Mia: What does that mean?

Kendall: Oh, come on. You know what I知 talking about, Mia. The kiss.

Mia: How do you know about the kiss?

Kendall: I saw you guys through the window, ok? If you guys had been kissing for another second, one of you would have needed oxygen.

Aidan: Whoa.

Mia: Kendall, Aidan had to do that.

Kendall: Yeah, I知 not talking about Aidan. I知 talking about you.

Mia: Oh, me?

Kendall: Yeah, you. Oh, come on, you weren't exactly fighting him off, were you?

Mia: I couldn't. What were you watching for anyway?

Aidan: Look, all right, all right, ok, that's enough. Ok, let's just not go off the subject. Mia, did you find anything of interest at Michael's?

Mia: Oh, yeah, maybe. I got this.

Aidan: Right. I知 going to have to check this out.

Mia: Oh, yeah? I壇 like to be there when you do.

Kendall: Yeah, I bet you would.

Mia: Pardon me?

Kendall: I think you've helped Aidan enough, Mia, a little too much.

Simone: Go ahead, Carlos. Finish what you were going to say. What are you going to do?

Carlos: It was nothing interesting.

Simone: Well, if it's about you, it interests me.

Carlos: I知 going to fix the air conditioner tomorrow. Good night.

Simone: Good night.

Mary: Mary, you're losing your touch.

[Knock on door]

Mary: Who is it?

Mary: Who is it?

Mary: Erica, what are you doing here? What is this?

Erica: I brought you something to read.

Mary: What is this?

Erica: It's the greatest story never told.

Mary: Oh, my God. How did you get this?

Erica: Don't worry about how I got it, Mary. You need to worry about what I知 going to do with it.

Mary: Which is what?

Erica: Nothing, unless Jack or Greenlee happen to find out somehow that Jack is Greenlee痴 biological father. Then I will see to it that both of them get a copy.

Mary: Erica, you can't.

Erica: Oh, I would not test that.

Mary: But they might find out no matter what I do.

Erica: Well, then that's one more thing for you to have to worry about. Now, I知 not sure how Greenlee would react, but I can tell you what this would mean to Jack. Jack, first of all, would be shocked, then there would be horror, and, of course, then there would be disgust. Well, I see you agree with me.

[Knock on door]

Greenlee: Mother, your door is open -- like a "Please Rob Me" sign.

Mary: Hi, darling. Look who just stopped by.

Greenlee: For what? You know, this isn't the first time I致e caught you two together. Mind telling me what you're up to?

On the next "All My Children" --

Greenlee: You have a past with Jackson. Why is that suddenly an issue now?

Jack: If I didn't know better, it'd look like you were about to say goodbye. That's not what's going on here, is it?

Mia: Is it just the heat, or are you hitting on me?

David: Looks like you got yourself in quite a bind there, Tad.
