Brooke: What are you doing with a prostitute in our home?

Michael: Kendall's integrity prevents her from hijacking Boyd and his formula, but this integrity will disappear just as soon as her company's threatened with a million-dollar lawsuit.

Kendall: Listen, Boyd, I really need you.

Jack: All right, I'll give you the space you want.

Erica: I have to speak to Chris alone.

Kendall: Ah.

Simone: Layout costs.

Kendall: What's with the attitude?

Simone: Oh, like you care.

Kendall: Oh, please, don't tell me you're still mad about Boyd.

Simone: Oh, it's always about you, Kendall, isn't it? I simply don't like the way you treat him.

Kendall: I treat Boyd just fine, thank you.

Simone: Oh, please. You treat him like a piece of crap.

Kendall: Like a piece -- no, I don't. He understands business. You're just all P.O.'d because your big date was a bust. Oh, it was not my fault.

Simone: Hmm. Why don't you do Boyd a favor and just simply let him go.

Kendall: Boyd is not going anywhere. He's my friend.

Simone: A friend who likes you more than you like him.

Kendall: Ok, not that it's any of your business, but I really care for Boyd.

Simone: Really?

Kendall: Yes, I do, a lot.

Simone: Oh.

Boyd: You're sure Erica wouldn't mind?

Bianca: Well, she's not even here, and besides, this is the safest place in the building if you don't want to be overheard.

Boyd: I don't, I don't. I mean, I can't risk anyone finding out about this.

Bianca: So, tell me what it is before mom gets here.

Boyd: Ok, ok.

Laurie: Don't even try it, Petey.

Petey: I was just going to hold it for you -- unless you want to invest in my surfer chick movie.

Laurie: The only thing I'm investing in is college.

Opal: Oh, dear, I'm so sorry I am late.

Petey: Hey, mom.

Opal: Hi, sugarplum. He wasn't any trouble, was he?

Laurie: No. We're just getting used to each other.

Opal: Well, good. I'll take over from here, honey. I know you got to get back to work.

Laurie: Thanks, Opal.

Opal: Of course. Thank you. Oh, well, now, since it seems you have been such a good boy, how would you like to play with this for a little while till it's time for your piano lesson, huh?

Petey: That's radical!

Opal: Would you like to? Well, you'd better mind your Ps and Qs then, Mister, or it's going to end up right back in my bag, ok?

Petey: No. Anything but that.

Opal: All right. Then take it, but behave yourself.

Petey: Yes, ma'am.

Opal: All right. Now, may I just ask you what it is you think you are doing?

Jack: I thought I was about to eat my lunch.

Opal: Yeah, well, if you knew what was good for you, you would skip the food and get going before it's too late.

Chris: "Sources confirm that following a very public quarrel, Ms. Kane broke off her engagement to Mr. Stamp. Rumor suggests the cosmetic diva has already found solace elsewhere." Isn't that great.

[Knock on door]

Erica: May I come in? Chris, please. Please don't shut me out.

Tad: All right, all right, damn it! I got the message! What's the big emergency?

Brooke: Do you have any idea what your son has done?

Tad: You found out.

Brooke: Did you think I wouldn't?

Tad: It's no big deal, ok? It was just for one night.

Brooke: What? Isn't that enough?

Tad: I should hope so. It probably did him a world of good.

Brooke: Oh, my God! How can you say that?

Tad: Well, jail tends to reform a guy!

Brooke: Jail? Jamie was in jail?

Jamie: Thanks a lot, Dad.

Brooke: Oh, jail, and now this?

Tad: What this? What'd you do?

Brooke: This! Hooker!

Tad: What hooker?

Brooke: The hooker that he brought home last night.

Tad: Really?

Brooke: Tad.

Tad: You brought a hooker home last night?

Jamie: It just kind of happened. It's no big deal.

Brooke: Oh, what, compared to jail? Why were you in jail?

Tad: Well, he supposedly hit somebody.

Brooke: You hit somebody?

Tad: Actually, his girlfriend's father.

Jamie: Laurie's not my girlfriend.

Brooke: I thought Laurie was going with J.R.

Tad: Oh, so did i.

Jamie: Who cares who she's going with?

Brooke: Well, I care because you punched out her father, it sounds like.

Tad: No, he actually deserved it.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, and that makes it ok?

Tad: No, it doesn't make it ok. He didn't actually hit anybody.

Brooke: But he spent the night in jail, now, didn't he?

Tad: Can we talk about the hooker, please?

Bianca: Oh!

Tad: You actually brought a hooker home with you last night?

Jamie: What if I did?

Tad: "What if I did"? Are you insane? You -- you -- you lied to me! You told me you were coming home to -- to -- to work on the computer!

Brooke: Well, he was doing a lot more than that when I got home.

Tad: You walked in on him?

Brooke: Yes, I did, fortunately, or unfortunately, depending on who we're speaking to.

Tad: You -- you actually looked me in the face and lied to me so you could bring a pro home with you?

Jamie: What if I did? Can you two just leave me alone?

Tad: Uh -- no.

Joni: Hey, when do you get off? The student counsel's getting together for pizza later.

Laurie: I'm not going.

Joni: Wait. Why not? It'll be fun.

Laurie: I'm thinking about taking an extra shift. And besides, Jamie might be there.

Joni: Wait. Since when is that a turnoff?

Laurie: Since he's totally morphed into someone I don't know.

Joni: What did Jamie do that's so terrible?

Laurie: I probably shouldn't say anything.

Joni: Is it drugs, like with J.R.?

Laurie: It's that girl, Holly.

Joni: Holly who?

Laurie: You remember. You told me about her. She was a senior when you were a freshman. And now she's totally working her way through college.

Joni: Yeah, ok. What is -- what does she have to do with Jamie?

Laurie: They left together last night.

Opal: Check, please.

Jack: Opal -- Opal, Opal, what are you doing?

Opal: I am going to see to it that your future doesn't pass you by.

Jack: The only future I'm concerned with right now is this veggie burger, ok?

Opal: How can you be thinking about your stomach when your whole life with Erica is at stake?

Jack: Ah, that.

Opal: Yes, that.

Jack: Yeah.

Opal: Now, come on, you got to get moving. Get out there and -- and grab your destiny.

Jack: And what would you suggest I do with it once I grab it, take it back --

Opal: I'm being serious here. Please, Jackson. I mean, if you were smart, you would be over there right now holding her hand.

Jack: Opal, listen to me. Erica told me she needed some space, and I respect that, ok?

Opal: This isn't about respect. This is about love.

Jack: Well, let me put it to you this way. I love Erica enough that I would give her as much space as she needs.

Opal: Jackson, wake up. You give Erica too much space and you are going to be seated in the front row as the next man waltzes in and sweeps her right off her feet.

Chris: What do you want?

Erica: Please, if I could just come in. Thank you. Oh, boy. They never stop, do they?

Chris: According to that rag, neither do you.

Erica: I'm sorry, Chris. I'm so sorry that they just -- they just, you know, twist everything.

Chris: Do they?

Erica: Chris, I need you to understand that --

Chris: Look, Erica, haven't we already done this?

Erica: I can't let you go, Chris, without --

Chris: What?

Erica: Without telling you --

Chris: What? That our life, that it was a pack of lies? Our life together was a pack of lies?

Erica: No, it wasn't.

Chris: No? Well, how about when we made love and you looked me in the eye and you told me that I was the only man in your life?

Erica: I meant it.

Chris: Oh. I guess, like you meant it when you said it to Jackson, too.

Erica: I never said that to Jackson, and you know I didn't.

Chris: No, no, no, no, no, I don't know anything anymore.

Erica: Well, I hope that you know that I love you.

Chris: Why? Why are you doing this to me?

Erica: Because I love you and because I never meant to hurt you! You've given me so much. I -- my God, you gave me our home. You gave me a love that made me feel so safe. And I know that I ruined everything that we had and everything that we could have had.

Chris: Yeah, well, you had a little help.

Erica: No, no, I did it myself. I know that. I slept with Jackson and I lied to you.

Chris: Thank you.

Erica: I thought that maybe if I just didn't admit it that maybe it would go away. Maybe it would be like it never happened.

Chris: Except that it did happen.

Erica: And I know that maybe if I had told you right away, maybe -- maybe I could have saved all of us a lot of pain.

Chris: "All of us"? Are you trying to tell me that Jackson is torn up about this?

Erica: Well, he feels very badly about the way you found out.

Chris: Well, I didn't know there's a good way to find out.

Erica: No, Chris --

Chris: Erica, you're a smart lady. You think about this. He got you into bed. He waited for the fallout. Well, here it is, sweetheart. Now you're free. Come on, you don't want to keep him waiting.

Erica: Chris, I told you, it just -- it was something that just -- that just happened. It wasn't a plan. It was a mistake.

Chris: Yours. Jackson played you like a fool, just like he always has. And the sooner you face it, the better off you'll be.

Michael: Ladies.

Kendall: Um -- Michael.

Michael: Hi, baby.

Kendall: Hey.

Michael: I hope I'm not interrupting anything important here.

Kendall: No. Simone was just lecturing me on public relations.

Simone: Right.

Kendall: Right?

Simone: Yes.

Kendall: Mm-hmm.

Simone: In fact, I am going to talk to our lawyer. So I will be in Kenny's office, if you need me.

Kendall: Ok. Tell Kenny I said hey.

Simone: Of course.

Michael: See you. Ouch. You two look pretty serious. Nothing bad, I hope.

Kendall: Well, it's about as bad as it gets. Fusion's being sued.

Michael: Oh, honey, I'm sorry. Listen, I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of companies get sued.

Kendall: No, not our company. I mean, we're just barely getting off the ground, and already we're being sued? It's ridiculous. I'm sorry. I don't want to bore you with this.

Michael: Oh, please, come on. You could never bore me. Tell me what happened.

Kendall: All right. Well, this -- this woman, this liar -- she claims that our lip color ruined her taste buds.

Michael: Well, that's ridiculous. You could have that thrown out.

Kendall: Well, no. According to Kenny, it'll cost us way too much to even go to court, so we might as well just close our doors now.

Michael: Oh. What about settling?

Kendall: Well, me and Greenlee are at the bank trying to get enough money for a settlement, but God knows how much that'll cost.

Michael: Don't you guys have some kind of a reserve?

Kendall: Reserve -- hey, you know what? Let me -- let me check on that. Let's see. Sure, we do. Oh, I got about 53 cents. You know what? We're way too small to take this on.

Michael: You don't have to be small.

Kendall: What do you mean?

Michael: You could play your ace. Your friend, Boyd, the chemist.

Kendall: I did that.

Michael: And?

Kendall: And Boyd -- I'm just -- I'm not sure that we're still friends.

Michael: Come on, he's crazy about you. Why would you even say that?

Kendall: Well, he pretty much smacked me down when I called him earlier this morning. Seems to me that Boyd has deleted me from his buddy list and moved on to something better.

Boyd: Ta-da.

Bianca: What is it?

Boyd: A revolution in a jar.

Bianca: Well, what does it do?

Boyd: What every other product on the market promises but can't deliver.

Bianca: Eternal youth?

Boyd: Almost. This stuff -- it just doesn't slow the aging process. It stops it.

Bianca: No way. How?

Boyd: Well, I experimented with some restorative cell therapy, some ? Threw in a few secrets of my own, and, voila, I came up with this.

Bianca: Well, it smells amazing. Can I try some?

Boyd: Yeah, you'd better. Well?

Bianca: I can feel it working already.

Boyd: Very funny, very funny.

Bianca: Does Mom know about this?

Boyd: No. Actually, I kind of broke my agreement with her.

Bianca: What?

Boyd: My deal with Erica was I get free rein in the R & D lab as long as she's the first to try the product. So now she'll be the second.

Bianca: I have a feeling she'll forgive you.

Boyd: Look, Erica expects something amazing, and I wanted your opinion before I made my big final presentation.

Bianca: I'm honored.

Boyd: What are you doing? Don't worry. I did all the tests.

Bianca: Uh-huh.

Boyd: There aren't any side effects. Your skin's not going to turn green or anything.

Bianca: Gosh. You know, the texture is so incredible. It's got humectants?

Boyd: Yeah, along with a couple of dozen other ingredients.

Bianca: So the formula is still trapped in that brain of yours?

Boyd: Yeah. Not even my crew in the lab know.

Bianca: Isn't that kind of nerve-racking?

Boyd: Yeah, a little, but, I mean, it's the only way I can make sure the product's safe until I present it to Erica.

Bianca: Well, I think it's awesome. I think you are going to blow her away.

Boyd: I plan to, any day now.

Val: Can I help you?

Lena: I'm just looking for a piece of paper to leave Erica a note. I don't want to disturb her.

Val: Oh, well, that's not a problem. Erica's not even in today.

Lena: Oh.

Val: Let me get you that paper.

Lena: Oh, don't trouble yourself. Just have her call me.

Bianca: Wow. No wonder you're in such a good mood. I mean, between your wonder cream and the new woman in your life.

Boyd: New woman? What woman?

Bianca: You're seeing Simone, right?

Boyd: Oh, that. No, it's just been a few dates, that's all. Nothing big.

Bianca: So your heart still belongs to Kendall?

Boyd: Not if I can help it.

Bianca: You know, Boyd, I've been there. The more you try to convince yourself that you don't care about her the more you actually will.

Boyd: But this time I mean it.

Bianca: Well, good. Just don't be her backup guy. She just wants to use you.

Boyd: Look, if anyone's being used, it's Kendall, by that creep Cambias.

Bianca: Well, that's her choice.

Boyd: Yeah, but Cambias is after something, and it's not Kendall.

Bianca: Boyd, are you sure that that isn't just wishful thinking?

Boyd: Look, I'm positive. All right? I don't know what he's after, but it probably has something to do with Erica. I just hope Kendall sees it before it's too late.

Michael: Well, I don't believe for a second that Boyd would want to let go of your relationship. Are you sure you didn't just catch him on a bad day?

Kendall: Well, I don't know. Boyd always used to make time for me, but this morning, he couldn't get off the phone fast enough. You know what? It was probably my fault.

Michael: Why is that?

Kendall: Well, I -- I was pretty desperate, and Boyd knows me. He totally knows me. I was completely using him. I was working him, and he knew it. He doesn't like it.

Michael: That doesn't mean that he's not crazy about you. You're not just going to give up on this so easily, are you?

Kendall: Well, I can't force myself on him.

Michael: You are not forcing yourself on anyone. You need help, and Boyd loves to come to your rescue. Didn't he practically strong-arm Erica into helping you get your lease back?

Kendall: Yeah, that's true.

Michael: Yes, and isn't he the one that is chomping at the bit to help you to rescue you from me?

Kendall: Well, I let him know I didn't need rescuing.

Michael: But Boyd is a dreamer. And dreamers don't just let go of their dreams so easily, especially one as gorgeous as you are.

Kendall: Well, I think Boyd's dreams about me are over. And you're the reason why.

Michael: Me?

Kendall: Yeah, you. He said that as long as you were in my life he won't be.

Michael: Well, that means there's only one thing left to do. We have to stop seeing each other.

Jamie: This is so stupid.

Tad: No, it's not stupid. How are we supposed to trust you? You know, you deceived me, you conned me. You single-handedly turned me into my father.

Jamie: Look, I already had this lecture with Mom, all right?

Tad: No, wrong. You had your mom's lecture with your mom. My lecture's just getting started.

Jamie: I'm sorry! How many times do I have to tell you I'm sorry? Nothing happened.

Tad: James, you brought a woman home who performs sexual acts for money. How does that translate into nothing happened?

Jamie: I mean, I had a chance to do something totally awesome, but I blew it, ok?

Tad: Could you be a little more specific?

Jamie: A totally hot girl was spending the night. But I didn't -- I -- oh, I'm such a loser.

Brooke: No, you're not. You did the right thing.

Jamie: A lot of good it does me.

Tad: I'm confused. You're upset because you got a conscience?

Jamie: Like it matters.

Tad: Of course it matters. What the hell is wrong with you? This isn't remotely like you. Where does this come from?

Jamie: Look at J.R. He ditches school, he flunks his classes, he does drugs. And everybody loves him, even though he took off.

Brooke: J.R. has a lot of problems.

Jamie: And he gets anything he wants. I put in the time, I do what it takes, I get the grades. But what do I get?

Brooke: Respect, trust.

Tad: And a hooker.

Brooke: Stop it. Jamie, you know, you are a good guy.

Jamie: Yeah, that's the problem. That's all I am to anybody, is a good guy.

Tad: Anybody or Laurie?

Joni: Jamie with a hooker? I can't believe this.

Laurie: It's true. Linda had to close last night, and she saw them leaving together.

Joni: What?

Laurie: And then I saw her totally picking him up during my shift.

Joni: So that's what Jamie's about? Do you think that's, like, the only thing he wanted from us?

Laurie: Maybe he's just freaked. I mean, there's the whole thing with his mom, and then J.R. Leaving, and I certainly didn't help with the whole "let's be friends" bit.

Joni: You were honest.

Laurie: I hurt him.

Joni: So he gets over it with a hooker?

Laurie: I just hope he didn't do something that he'll regret.

Holly: And if he did, why would you care?

Jack: Opal, I wasn't aware there was a next man waiting in the wings.

Opal: Well, not yet, but there could be if you don't do something.

Jack: I am doing something. I'm respecting Erica's wishes.

Opal: Uh-huh. I see. And how many times have you watched as another man waltzed off with Erica and you were busy respecting her boundaries?

Jack: Too damn many times.

Opal: Yeah.

Jack: Well, it's not going to happen this time.

Opal: What makes you so sure?

Jack: Because I'm not going to let it.

Erica: You have every right to be angry with me.

Chris: Angry? Angry doesn't begin to describe how I feel. A man I trusted jumped into bed with the woman I love, the woman who I was going to marry?

Erica: Chris, if I could go back and undo what happened --

Chris: No, no, no, it wouldn't matter. Jackson would have found another way to get to you. And the reason why he took this long is because he's a coward.

Erica: Oh, no, he's not a coward.

Chris: Don't defend him. He's a coward. If he was a man, he would have come to me a told me to my face!

Erica: Look, Chris, I came here -- I came here --

Chris: You came here, what, to beg for my forgiveness? Why? Oh, so you could ease your conscience and then move on with your life?

Erica: Please don't do this. Please don't be like this, Chris.

Chris: No, the two of you --

Erica: We've shared so much.

Chris: No. Yeah, well, apparently, you shared it with Jackson, too. You know, I'm not going to give the two of you my blessing. But I am going to give you this, Erica. If the two of you end up together, it's going to be the biggest mistake of your life.

Brooke: I have some unpacking to do, so why don't you continue this with your -- with your father.

Tad: Thanks a heap.

Brooke: Ok?

Tad: Coward. Ok. What'd you say her name was, this little fallen flower?

Jamie: Holly.

Tad: Hmm. Cute. Well, now that your mom's out of the room, truth is you're not the first guy to try to forget about one woman by, you know, finding another.

Jamie: Yeah, but my luck, I found a working woman. And mom came in on me.

Tad: Yeah, imagine that, in her own living room. You really thought this one through, didn't you? Just out of curiosity, when you were with this holly, did you manage to forget about Laurie?

Jamie: No. No, no, no. Laurie's all I thought about.

Tad: For future reference, that's usually how it works out.

Jamie: Is this where you're telling me you're disappointed in me?

Tad: No. That's where I tell you I'm disappointed in myself. God knows, as a father, I'm a total washout. I've been a complete dog. But, son, I got to tell you, when it comes to sex, when it comes to loving someone, if I have done anything to remotely make you think that this is ok, then, God, I have just --

Jamie: No, no, no, no. No, that's not it. It's -- it's not like I was cruising around town looking for some prostitute. I mean, it just happened.

Tad: Because you're upset with Laurie? By any chance, were you hoping that perhaps Laurie would see you with this woman, maybe think you were a bit of a rebel like your brother?

Jamie: Whatever I do, it doesn't matter to Laurie.

Tad: That's your problem?

Jamie: The problem is, is that she's still hung up on J.R. Even though he's gone and I'm here, it's like I'm not good enough.

Tad: Don't be an idiot. Of course you're good enough.

Jamie: Not for Laurie.

Tad: Hey, have you looked in the mirror lately, huh? You're it. You're the whole package. You got your mother's looks, your father's je ne sais quoi. If she's too stupid to realize it, then you move on, read some resumes.

Jamie: Yeah, but compared to J.R., I don't rate, Dad.

Tad: It's not about comparing to J.R. You are two different people, ok? This isn't a competition.

Jamie: I get it, ok? I'm a loser. I have some homework to do.

Laurie: I have to get back to work.

Holly: No, don't run away from this. I want to tell you something about Jamie Martin.

Joni: You? Do you think you know Jamie just because he paid for it?

Holly: Jamie didn't pay me a dime.

Joni: What, you did it for free?

Holly: We didn't do it at all.

Laurie: Nothing happened?

Holly: Zilch. He wasn't into it.

Joni: Right, you expect us to believe that, really?

Holly: I don't care what you believe, but the guy only wants to do it with someone he loves. I just hope that girl, whoever she is, deserves him.

Opal: So, what kind of --

Jack: Thank you.

Opal: Hocus-pocus do you have planned to keep Erica from waltzing off with the next man?

Jack: Opal, I don't need any hocus-pocus because Erica and I have taken our relationship to a whole new level.

Opal: Oh, well, that's great. So, pop the question.

Jack: I will, when the time is right.

Opal: Carpe diem, man. The time is right now!

Jack: No, the time is right when it's right for Erica, when she's ready.

Opal: Erica's never going to be ready for commitment. You know that.

Jack: I think she will be because I think now she realizes that if she says no to us one more time, that's it, it's over, and I mean for good.

Opal: And that's it? So now you're just going to sit here and munch on your veggie burger and risk losing it all, losing her?

Jack: If our love is as strong as I think it is, Opal, I can wait.

Opal: Oh, for Lord's sake, Jackson, you have waited long enough.

Erica: I wish there was something that I could say to take away the pain.

Chris: "Goodbye" would be a great start.

Erica: Please, Chris, please. Please let's not end it like this.

Chris: You ended it! Not me! I got the ring, by the way. Thank you.

Erica: I deserve your rage. I understand that. I just hope that someday -- oh, I hope someday you can find it in your heart to --

Chris: "Heart"? You think I have a heart left after this?

Erica: I'll go.

Chris: Good idea.

[Erica gasps]

Photographer: Ms. Kane, is this the reunion? How about it, Mr. Stamp? What's the deal? Is it quits, or are the nuptials back on?

Erica: Please, I would appreciate your giving Mr. Stamp a little privacy.

Photographer: Oh, just a couple of questions, a few pictures wouldn't be bad --

Erica: I know you're trying to do your job, I know you have a job to do, but this is really not a good time.

Photographer: Look, if you just gave me two minutes, I could take a few pictures --

Erica: Call my office tomorrow and I swear to you, my assistant and I, we will set something up with you.

Photographer: Fantastic. Thank you, Ms. Kane.

Erica: I'm so sorry.

Chris: Yeah, I know you're sorry. Is that your idea to bring him along so it would get the right spin?

Erica: I didn't know that he was going to be there.

Chris: Yeah, it doesn't matter. He got his scoop anyway.

Erica: I didn't want him to bother you.

Chris: Are we done?

Erica: Thank you.

Chris: No!

Erica: Well, thank you for -- for loving me and thank you for protecting me for such a long time and for making me understand that even if it just was for a little while, I could choose happiness.

Chris: Go on. Your new beau is waiting.

Bianca: Lena, hi.

Lena: Oh, hello.

Bianca: Oh, she's not in. I was just borrowing her office.

Lena: Well, I'm glad you're here. I wanted to apologize for my rudeness this morning at breakfast, you know, leaving like that.

Bianca: Oh, well, you couldn't help an emergency. I just hope that everything turned out ok.

Lena: Everything's fine.

Bianca: Well, great. I guess I'll get back to work.

Lena: I hope we can get together again sometime, without interruptions.

Bianca: Oh. Yeah, I'd like that.

Lena: Bianca --

Bianca: Oh. What are you doing?

Kendall: So you're willing to walk away from us just like that?

Michael: It's going to take every ounce of my strength. But what matters most right now is Fusion's future.

Kendall: No, the future. My future only matters to me if you --

Michael: If what?

Kendall: If you're in it.

Michael: Oh, honey, there's no place I would rather be, but I would hate to be the reason why you lost your chance to save Fusion.

Kendall: No. You know what? If Boyd cannot handle the two of us as a couple, then -- then I will find another way to save Fusion.

Michael: Well, it looks like you won't have to.

Lena: I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to startle you.

Bianca: Oh, no, it's ok.

Lena: It's just you smell so good.

Bianca: Oh! Well, thank you. That must be Boyd's magic cream.

Lena: Boyd's what?

Bianca: Nothing.

Lena: But it's a perfume?

Bianca: No, no. Don't ask me any more questions about it. I am sworn to secrecy.

Lena: Say no more. In this business, discretion can be the difference between success and failure.

Bianca: Well, Boyd is definitely discreet. I mean, he hasn't even written down the formula.

Lena: You're joking.

Bianca: No. It's all locked in his head.

Lena: Is that wise? I mean, God forbid, should anything happen to him, all this hard work would be for nothing.

Bianca: I guess I never thought of it that way.

Lena: Bianca, with so much at stake, having no backup is very risky.

Bianca: You're right. I'll talk to him about that the next time I see him.

Lena: Good.

Bianca: Now, remember --

Lena: Oh. I won't say a word.

Bianca: Right.

Lena: It's me. I'm one step closer to getting that formula out of Boyd's head and onto paper.

Kendall: Boyd, I wasn't expecting you.

Boyd: Look, if you're busy, I can come back.

Michael: No, no, that's fine. I am just on my way to a meeting. I will see you back at the condo, ok, tonight?

Kendall: Ok. I -- I wasn't sure if I'd ever see you again.

Boyd: Yeah, well, I'm kind of surprised to be here myself. Look, I just came to say I'm sorry. When you called, I shouldn't have cut you off like that.

Kendall: No, that's ok. That's all right. You don't have to apologize. I'm a pain sometimes.

Boyd: Yeah, you are, but I've been kind of hard on you lately, and you don't deserve it.

Kendall: Does this mean we're friends again?

Boyd: Come here.

Kendall: Oh. Hmm.

Boyd: Hmm. Come on, we never stopped.

Kendall: Except that you hate Michael.

Boyd: This is true.

Kendall: Yes.

Boyd: But whatever I think of your boyfriend, you can always come to me.

Kendall: Even when I'm in trouble?

Boyd: Come on -- especially when you're in trouble.

Kendall: You mean that?

Boyd: You know I do.

Kendall: Good, because trouble is exactly what I'm in.

Boyd: What are you talking about? What is it? What, did Cambias finally --

Kendall: No, it's not Michael, it's not Michael. It's Fusion. Boyd, we're desperate, we're totally desperate, and you're the only one who can save us.

Erica: Call and make sure that I have the confirmation on that interview with --

Val: Yeah, the style reporter from WRCW.

Erica: Yes. And find me some flowers.

Val: Oh, well, you have some.

Erica: Some that are alive.

Val: Got it.

[Door closes]

Erica: What are you doing here?

Brooke: Hmm. Was that Jamie's door I heard slam?

Tad: Yeah. So much for helping him through it. You really walk in on him?

Brooke: Yes.

[Tad laughs]

Brooke: Please. It's not funny. I don't know. Can you tell me how our adorable little boy wound up on the couch with a prostitute?

Tad: It's genetic?

Brooke: Ha-ha.

Tad: Well, what do you want from me? I'm not a mind reader. I was just getting around to it when he ran out of the room.

Brooke: Well, what happened?

Tad: I don't know. That's just it. One minute, I'm telling him he doesn't have to compete with J.R. for Laurie's affection, and the next minute, he just bolts.

Brooke: Well -- you know, I know he's twisted up about this girl.

Tad: Well, it's about more than just Laurie. I know that much.

Brooke: Yes, I know that, too. I realize that, you know, but I think she was a big impetus to him getting together with this hooker in the first place and why he's angry at J.R.

Tad: And why he ended up in jail.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, and the next time our son is in jail, I expect you to tell me.

Tad: Fine. Fine. That's not what I'm worried about -- some return trip to the hoosegow. I'm afraid he's going to end up hating his brother.

Laurie: Hi.

Joni: Can you believe what Holly said about Jamie?

Laurie: I guess he's not as wild as we thought he was.

Joni: You know what? No, he wouldn't -- he wouldn't take a hooker home unless he meant to go all the way with her.

Laurie: He didn't.

Joni: So what? You know, my dad says that thinking about doing something is practically just as bad as doing it.

Boyd: What, Fusion's desperate?

Kendall: Yeah, we're desperate. If we don't do something about this now, that's it, we're done, we're finished.

Boyd: And I'm the something?

Kendall: Well, you wanted to come work with us before, so now's your chance.

Boyd: Well, I came to you before. You turned me down.

Kendall: Well, that was because I didn't want --

Boyd: You didn't want to take advantage of me.

Kendall: I would never do that.

Boyd: Oh, neither would I. Look, Kendall, if I came to work for you now, I'd only be doing it because I want something more.

Kendall: What?

Boyd: You. And it isn't going to happen, is it?

Kendall: So, are you turning me down?

Boyd: Yes.

Kendall: But you said you wanted to help me.

Boyd: I do.

Kendall: You said you would help me.

Boyd: I do. I do. But I want to help you, ok, not your business.

Kendall: But, Boyd, you're the only one who can save this.

Boyd: Kendall, Fusion will be fine. You're the one I'm worried about.

Kendall: I told you, I'm fine.

Boyd: I know --

Kendall: I don't need any help with Michael --

Boyd: I know, I know --

Kendall: I'm fine.

Boyd: You can take care of yourself. But someday you're going to need me a lot more than Fusion does. Take care, ok?

Chris: Can I have a scotch, please?

Chris: That's good.

Michael: Kind of early in the day?

Chris: Back off.

Michael: So much for those instincts of yours, huh?

Chris: You know, this is not a good time.

Michael: Kind of rusty, I mean, especially when it comes to your fiancée -- I mean your ex-fiancée. Did she ever give you back that ring?

Chris: You know, I'm warning you.

Michael: Listen, I don't blame you for being upset. I mean, isn't this the second time that some woman has dumped you for another guy?

Erica: Jack, didn't I tell you that I need some time?

Jack: And space.

Erica: Well, so then, what are you doing here?

Jack: I realized that you needed something else even more.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Maria: You want us to be over?

Aidan: We both can't carry on like this.

Chris: If you were so sorry, where were you when your best friend was jumping into the sack with Jackson Montgomery?

Jack: Let me love you. With all that I am, marry me, Erica.
