Opal: Chris, she can't help it. Erica always gets like this when she's in love.
Bianca: I have to remember everything that happened that night.
Leo: And how are you going to do that?
Bianca: I'm going to get myself hypnotized.
Stuart: I wonder where this came from.
Dixie: You want to make me happy? Leave me alone.
Jake: Can I give you a lift to the hospital?
Greenlee: Merry Christmas, Jake.
Greenlee: Anything is better than being alone in that loft tonight. Okay.
[Voice mail system beeps]
Manís voice: Hello, this is a message for Greenlee Smythe.
Greenlee: Yeah, that's me. That's why the message says, "Leave a message for Greenlee Smythe."
Man's voice: This is Bert Kanin. I'm in charge of special deliveries at Lacey'S.
Greenlee: Don't make me hurt you, Bert.
Bert's voice: Ms. Smythe, I did everything I could to make sure your gift to a Mr. Leo du Pres was diverted back to your loft address on 718 Valley Road.
Greenlee: And? And?
Bert's voice: This transaction has actually gotten a little confusing.
Greenlee: No, no, no, Leo cannot get that sappy Christmas present, do you hear me?
Bert's voice: Your super in your building gave me a forwarding address of 140 Calvert Street and said anything for Leo du Pres should be sent there.
Greenlee: What? That's Myrtle Fargate's halfway house --
Bertís voice: Apparently that's where Mr. du Pres is living now.
Greenlee: Say what?
Bert's voice: So I sent it there, but I'm --
Greenlee: You moron. Over my dead body Leo gets that package.
Brooke: Stuart's so cute in his Santa outfit. He's always so cheery.
Edmund: [Mocks Brooke] Stuart's always so cheery. [Normal voice] I'm cheery, Brooke.
Brooke: You are?
J.R.: Hey, Uncle Stuart. I didn't know you were still here.
Stuart: Look what I found under one of the trees. It was just lying there, like Santa Claus brought it or something.
J.R.: Does it have a tag or anything?
Stuart: No. No, nothing. It's just a real pretty box. It's not heavy.
J.R.: Well, if it's got a one-way ticket out of this town, I'll take it. Sorry. It's just this whole Christmas thing. I can't even stand to think of what it's going to be like this year at my mom's or my dad's, you know? Everything just changed. Mom? Mom, what is it?
Dixie: I was trying to get into my car, and I -- I can't breathe.
J.R.: Oh, man. It's your heart again, isn't it?
Dixie: Yeah, I think it is.
Anna: So, Chris, when you get this message, please call me right back. I'm going to follow up on that lead I have from David Hayward, unless --
David: It's not even on. Why did you fake that call, Anna? What the hell are you doing?
Bianca: Oh, great. Thank you. Well, Dr. McMillan is in a psych consult, but his secretary said that he'll see me in a half an hour.
Leo: Do you want me to drive you?
Bianca: No, no, I'll -- I want to do this myself, Leo.
Leo: Maybe you shouldn't, Bianca. If they do agree to hypnotize you right there, you don't want to drive back.
Bianca: You think he will, right? I mean, I really want to remember what happened.
Leo: I know. I know, but the chances are they're not going to pull out the watch right there in front of you in the E.R. and -- look, I'm sorry. I worry about you. Are you sure you want to do this by yourself?
Bianca: Yeah. I'm going to be fine. I'll call you when I get back.
Leo: Okay. Please do.
Bianca: Thank you.
Leo: All right. Bye.
Man: I got a delivery for a Leo du Pres. You know him?
Greenlee: I'm his wife.
Greenlee: Thanks. Bye.
Greenlee: Timing is everything.
Leo: Yo, Greens. What's up with the package under your arm?
Erica: Opal, don't do this. Don't make me disown you.
Opal: I'm just trying to help you out.
Erica: Opal, you can't talk for me. And if you could, the only truth that you could tell is that I don't love this man because I don't trust him.
Chris: Since when?
Erica: Since you went to talk to my daughter behind my back.
Chris: Oh, honey, I went and talked to Bianca just --
Erica: Don't you "honey" me. Who do you think you are?
Chris: I'm the man who loves you. I'm the man who adores you. I'm the man who you would trust with your life. You even said so yourself.
Erica: Look, just -- just -- just --
Chris: Just -- just tell me what Opal told you to tell me.
Erica: You know, you're both driving me crazy.
Chris: Look, you know how I feel, so why don't you tell me how you feel. Come on. Don't be afraid. Look, it's okay. Really, it is. It's not going to kill you.
Opal: Good grief. Erica Ė
Stuart: Here -- sit down, sit down. Sit down here. Look, I know who can help. Hold on.
David: Did you fake that call to get my attention away from Dixie?
Anna: Don't flatter yourself.
David: You're jealous of my old lover. Admit it.
Anna: She's not so old. I'm not jealous.
David: Right. So that whole thing was just --
Anna: To see how you'd react if you heard me giving Stamp an update on you.
David: But you don't think I'm Proteus, remember?
Anna: Are you sure about that, really?
Stuart: Hayward? Hey -- Dr. Hayward.
Stuart: It's me, Stuart.
David: Yeah. What?
Stuart: Just come quick. It's Dixie. It's Dixie.
David: What about her?
Stuart: She's gasping for air, and we don't know what --
David: Where is she?
Stuart: Over there. That way.
Anna: Oh, Edmund, please, go away.
Edmund: What is wrong with you?
Anna: Nothing. Honestly, nothing. Please leave me alone.
Greenlee: Myrtle left this for me to pick up to get to Erica.
Leo: Ha --
Greenlee: Okay, nosy-pants?
Leo: Ha. You're the worst liar.
Greenlee: I'm not lying.
Leo: Let me see.
Greenlee: Leo, let go.
Leo: Little twerp --
Greenlee: What are you trying to do, make me hate you more?
Leo: Greenlee, let me see the address label.
Greenlee: Drop dead.
Leo: You first. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Surprise, surprise. It's for me.
Greenlee: You open that, you'll be sorry.
Leo: Hmm, you think?
Leo: Ah, look at -- it's pictures of us.
Greenlee: You're so smart, aren't you?
Leo: You know, this is pretty sentimental, even for you, Greenlee.
Greenlee: It's not sentimental, and you're a jerk. It was a joke, okay, Leo?
Leo: A joke? That's weird. I mean -- look at -- oh, look at this one. You almost look nice. It's funny how a picture can lie.
Greenlee: Have your laugh and toss it. I don't care.
Leo: Toss it? I may hang it over the mantel. Myrtle's mantel. What do you think?
Greenlee: I don't know. You can choke on it for all I care.
Leo: Yeah, could I get the number for Rushed Love, Inc.? Rushed Love, Inc. Yeah, you can connect me right through, thank you. Hey, hey, this is Leo du Pres. Could I speak with Marcia -- Marcia. Hey, how you doing? Yeah, I know, I know. It's been a long time. No, no more incredibledreams.com stuff. Listen, this is personal. Yeah, I need -- and I need it, like, right now. Thank you, thank you. You're the best, Marcia, okay? Item number one -- an ax.
Jake: There we go. Thank you.
Jake: All right. The chair is temporary. I have a call out for crutches. But you're going to have to stay off this foot for a while.
Mia: Oh, well, I'll do my best.
Jake: Okay, so, any other questions?
Mia: Actually, I do.
Jake: Yeah, shoot.
Mia: That big-eyed brunette who was fixing me with that hex back at the Christmas tree parking lot --
Jake: Greenlee Smythe. What about her?
Mia: She your girlfriend?
Jake: There was -- we dated. We dated. That's about all you can say.
Mia: Oh. You're not dating anymore?
Jake: No, no, we're definitely not dating.
Mia: So, then -- just one more question.
Jake: Shoot. You're doing great.
Mia: Can I ask you out?
Jake: Well, if I say yes, then you're just going to have to ask another question.
Mia: Which is?
Jake: The actual asking out.
Man: Dr. Martin? Dr. Westin needs you for a consult in cube four.
Jake: Excuse me. Does he know that I'm not on duty?
Man: He didn't mention it, but he's waiting.
Jake: Okay. Thanks, Tommy. I appreciate it. Well, listen, the crutches are on their way. Sit tight.
Mia: I will.
Jake: And remember -- ice.
Mia: I will remember.
Bianca: Dr. McMillan, thank you so much for seeing me in between your cases.
Zeke: It's quite okay, Bianca. Jake Martin wanted you to have a consultation with me, said that you had gone through a very difficult experience recently.
Bianca: Yeah, I have. And I need you to help me remember it.
Zeke: Remember it?
Bianca: Yeah, I had a riding accident.
Bianca: I hit my head. I think I experienced short-term memory loss, and I need it back. It's -- it's really very important.
Zeke: You know, what do you want me to do about it? I'm getting the feeling that you have something very specific in mind.
Bianca: Hypnosis. I know a little bit -- I know a little bit about therapy. I know I'm not too young for that.
Zeke: Bianca, how old are you, exactly?
Bianca: I'm 17.
Zeke: Now, you know you're going to need parental consent to have hypnosis with me.
Bianca: Well, that's not possible.
Zeke: Then neither is hypnosis.
Opal: We need some help here. Can anybody help us?
Jake: I think we have a pure and simple case of exhaustion and dehydration -- both curable.
Erica: That's good news.
Jake: Well, I'm going to run a few tests just to rule out anything else. You're going to be a nice patient and agree, right?
Erica: I am.
Jake: Good, good. Okay, just sit back, relax. We'll get right on those tests, okay?
Bianca: Are you okay?
Erica: I am. I'm fine. Did you come -- did Opal call you?
Erica: Well, then, how did you know?
Bianca: I was here already when Opal and Chris brought you in.
Erica: In the emergency room at the hospital? Are you all right?
Bianca: I'm fine, Mom. I -- I was seeing a psychiatrist on staff.
Bianca: Look, I need help, Mom.
Erica: About what?
Bianca: I have to remember what happened the night you killed Frankie.
Erica: Oh, baby, don't you see? It's -- it's so much better if you don't.
Bianca: I don't agree. I need your consent or the shrink is not going to see me. Look, Mom, it's not going to be long before I don't need your help with anything anymore, but I need your help now. Please don't fight me on this.
Erica: Honey, there's just so much pain there for you, and I just don't want to see you go --
Bianca: You don't want me to remember you shooting Frankie?
David: Tommy! This is Dixie Martin. Her cardiologist is Dr. Heineman. I want you to page him, stat.
Tommy: Dr. Heineman is in surgery, Dr. Hayward.
Opal: Dixie -- are you all right?
David: Dixie, you have to let me do this.
Dixie: No! There's got to be another doctor on call.
Stuart: Dixie, this might not be a real good time to fight this.
Dixie: I am not going with him. I'm not going anywhere with you.
David: Fine, fine. I'll examine you right here where everybody can guard you, okay? But let me do it, damn it. Tommy, get me a wheelchair right away. Come on.
Stuart: Easy. Easy.
Anna: Edmund, remember what I was like when Alex brought me here? I was a mess. I was alone. I had no one. And she thrusted me into this ready-made family, and I think to myself, "Okay, fine, I'll go along with that." And then suddenly she takes herself and my brother off to Europe, leaving me here alone again, trying to figure out what the hell to do with myself. I know I have a daughter. I have a daughter that I dearly love, and she has a life of her own, as she should. And everyone in Port Charles would like me to go home, but there's nothing there for me except memories, so I stay here. I stay here, and everyone, including you, wants to fix me, to fit me into their lives. But I donít. I canít.
Edmund: That's not true.
Anna: Yes, of course it's true. I am a square peg in a round hole here. And I met David. And the connection was instant. I belonged. I knew it.
Edmund: Oh, no, no, no. Donít. Don't do this.
Anna: No, you donít. This is my life. And for the first time in almost a decade, it is mine to win or lose. I am who I'm supposed to be when I'm with David. I don't know why. I don't care. But he has become for me a lifeline.
Edmund: Don't say that.
Anna: No, he has. And I will fight to hold on to him. I will fight anyone. I will even fight you, my friend.
Edmund: Anna, please, don't misunderstand my motives. Before you came to town, David Hayward went after Dixie Martin. Now, you should know --
Anna: I know. I know that. And it's not over.
Edmund: It's not?
Anna: No. And now she's separated. David is circling the wagons around her. You saw the way he took off when Stuart came and said that she was having trouble breathing.
Edmund: Okay. So if you know that Hayward is hung up on a girl that he possibly stalked, then how could you --
Brooke: Oh, Edmund, I -- I'm sorry. I'm sorry to interrupt.
Anna: Thank God someone has.
Brooke: Uh --
Brooke: David took Dixie to the hospital with Stuart and J.R., so we're sort of in charge of the tree lot. Are you guys okay?
Anna: Did David take Dixie himself?
Brooke: He followed Stuart in his car.
Edmund: Anna. Anna, wait.
David: The injection has already stabilized your breathing. How do you feel?
Dixie: I'm fine. Thank you, guys, for bringing me here.
Stuart: Doc, is this normal?
David: It appears that you had a stress reaction. I'm going to write you a prescription for a mild sedative, Dixie. I want you to take it until the stress disappears, whatever it is, all right? I'm going to go to the pharmacy. I'll get it filled out so you can take it with you.
J.R.: Mom, are you sure you're okay with that dirt bag taking care of you?
Dixie: Yeah, I'm fine. He's -- he's very professional, all right?
J.R.: I asked the nurse where Uncle Jake and Joe were, but they were both busy.
Dixie: Yeah, I know. It's okay. You know, he knows my history, and despite what happened, he's not going to do anything to hurt me. I know that. Listen, Stuart, would you take J.R. back to the tree lot?
J.R.: Mom, I'm taking you home.
Dixie: No, it's okay, really. Opal will take me home, right?
Opal: No problem.
J.R.: Why won't you let me take care of you?
Dixie: No, you are taking care of me. You are. It's just that, you know, working at the lot -- it's part of your community service. And if you don't show up for that, then they're not going to care, you know, just because your mom is sick.
J.R.: This is -- this is so beat.
Dixie: I know. Just -- just go.
J.R.: Fine. Okay.
Stuart: I'll look after him. I promise.
Stuart: I'm so glad you're better.
Opal: Boy, that was quite a scare there, honey. You okay? Want me to get you anything?
Dixie: Yeah, would you get me some orange juice or something like that?
Opal: Sure, sure. Say no more. You stay right here, okay?
Dixie: Okay, thanks.
Opal: I think it's this way.
David: I'm sorry you had to go through this tonight.
Dixie: Is that my prescription?
Dixie: Can I get out of here?
David: Dixie --
Dixie: No, I don't -- I really don't want to --
David: I just want you to know that I had no intention of doing anything but giving you the help that you needed. I swear.
Dixie: Can I go?
Erica: Bianca, could you ask Chris to come in, please?
Bianca: So you're not going to answer me?
Erica: Look, I -- I just want you protected. That's all I know. Please, would you ask Chris to come in? I really need to talk to him.
Chris: I'm glad you asked for me.
Erica: I'm so glad that you came in.
Chris: Dr. Martin said you're okay.
Erica: I am. I think. Just -- would you hold me?
Opal: Where the devil -- oh, Bianca, do you know where Dixie went?
Bianca: No, I didn't see her, Opal. I'm sorry.
Opal: Well, I'll find her. Oh, I'm glad I found you. Oh, boy. That's been a long time coming.
Bianca: What did you want to see me about, Opal?
Opal: Oh, well -- here, honey. You left this in your hospital room. I forgot to give it to you.
Bianca: This is -- this is Frankie's gift for me, isn't it?
Opal: Yeah. Don't you think it's time that you opened it?
Bianca: I don't know. Why now, Opal?
Opal: Maybe you need something to remember her by. You know? I hope it helps, sweetie pie. I really do.
Bianca: Well, maybe it'll help me remember what happened that night.
Dixie: Opal, it's me. Listen, I realize we all came flying over here in separate cars, so I'm going to take mine home myself. Stuart took J.R. back to the Christmas tree lot, so he's going to be fine. And I'm fine, too, okay? So don't worry about me. Love you. Bye.
Greenlee: I hate everyone -- everyone I have ever known. Especially the ones I've slept with.
[Knock on door]
Man: Package for Greenlee Smythe?
Greenlee: Cool. Later. Hmm.
Leo: The ax is an exact replica.
Greenlee: Of Paul Bunyan's?
Leo: Of the ax my ex-fiancee used to trash Ryan Lavery's computer system after he dumped her. The berries are the closest thing that I could find to the poisonous ones we ate on our island where I nearly died, except for the care and love of my ex-fiancee. I've been assured that these are edible. And the wine, of course --
Greenlee: Costs a fortune. The last time I'd had it, we'd scarfed it from the wine cellar at the Valley Inn.
Leo: You like my present?
Greenlee: I'm still thinking.
Leo: It took weeks of thought, Greenlee, and a whole lot of preparations. Wait -- wait a minute. That's -- that's all there is.
Greenlee: Oh, a receipt from Rushed Love, Inc. I know them well. An order was placed -- look at that -- about 40 minutes ago. "Weeks of thought," huh?
Leo: You're a sentimental sucker. I thought it stood a chance.
Greenlee: You lied.
Leo: You didn't?
Greenlee: You manipulated.
Leo: You don't?
Greenlee: Oh, where's the new Leo, full of nobility and honesty?
Leo: I killed him before he killed himself. Look, Greenlee, I figured what brought us together in the first place was dishonesty, right? Well, that and my irresistible charm. So, I mean, why fight what works, right?
Greenlee: Careful, baby. You're begging.
Leo: No. I'm responding to your staged run-in with me over at Myrtle's to get the gift before I got it. You snuck in, Greenlee. You knew that I was going to find you. You figured, "Hell, he'll buy this. And if I'm lucky, I'll snag him again." I thought, "I'm not doing anything but eating a sandwich, so I'm game." How close am I?
Greenlee: You are so in orbit, you loser.
Brooke: You know what I just realized is that as soon as this holiday is over, we're going to have to confirm all the preparations for the Crystal Ball. So I -- you want to talk about what just happened with Anna?
Edmund: He's her lifeline.
Brooke: Uh-huh. And what does that mean?
Edmund: Anna actually thinks she's in love with David.
Brooke: Well, I'll tell you -- you know, David doesn't usually fail when he sets his sights on somebody, that David.
Edmund: I promised my brother and Alex I would look out for her.
Brooke: Does that mean deciding who she's going to date?
Edmund: Do you hear who I'm talking about?
Brooke: Does Anna know that you think that David could be Proteus?
Edmund: She knows and she doesn't care.
Brooke: Okay. So we'll make her care. When we leave, we'll go to the office, we'll do some background checks on him, and we'll see if it leads us to David. And if it does, we'll let Anna know fast. Is that okay?
David: Hi. Why are you here?
Anna: Is Dixie okay?
David: You don't really want to talk about Dixie, do you?
Anna: No. I want to talk about us.
David: What about us?
Anna: I think we have a shot at something real here. I've only had that chance a couple times in my life, and never since I lost my husband. But I feel like, if we do it, we might be able to find something more than worthwhile. We might even be able to find each other. I'm willing. I hope maybe you are, too.
David: Anna --
Anna: If you let me in, I will do the same for you.
Frankie's voice: "Dear Bianca. I hope that where I'm going I will stop hurting people."
Bianca: Oh, God, Frankie.
Chris: You want to talk about what happened with Bianca in here?
Eric no. No, I donít. I want to talk about the two of us. I'm so sorry about the way I spoke to you earlier at my house in front of Opal. I'm so sorry. It's just that before I fainted, I really -- I felt overwhelmed.
Chris: I know. But if you're going to faint every time I tell you I love you, you know --
Erica: It was wrong of me. And I told you something wrong then.
Chris: What do you mean?
Erica: I mean I didn't tell you the truth then. But I want to now.
Chris: Okay. What is it you want to tell me? Go ahead.
Stuart: You know, your mom's going to be fine.
J.R.: Yeah, well, nothing else is, Uncle Stuart.
Stuart: What do you think I ought to do with this mysterious box?
J.R.: I don't care. Trash it, give it to the cops, whatever.
Stuart: You know, once when you were little, you were just a little boy trying to be bigger and older than you really were and one Christmas on Christmas Eve, you came down to see me. But everybody else was asleep. Everyone was sound asleep. Everybody was in bed. Scott was still around.
J.R.: Yeah, I remember that.
Stuart: You came running into my house, and you said, "Uncle Stuart, he was here already! Santa Claus was here already!"
J.R.: And then you came with me back to my dad's from the gatehouse.
Stuart: Yeah. We sat around under the tree with just the Christmas lights on. And you told me what you wanted and what you hoped Santa Claus had brought you.
J.R.: You stayed with me the whole night.
Stuart: Yeah. You know why?
J.R.: Because I wouldn't leave you alone, probably.
Stuart: No. No. Because you -- you gave Christmas back to me -- the wonder of it and the magic of it. That little boy is still alive in you. All you have to do is let him out to play.
J.R.: I don't -- I don't feel him anymore, Uncle Stuart. I don't know how to feel anymore.
J.R.: What is that?
Greenlee: I do not want your Rushed Love junk gift, and I sure as hell do not want you, bucko.
Leo: You know what, Greenlee? Thank you.
Greenlee: For what?
Leo: The feeling's mutual, you -- you miserable, little twerp.
Greenlee: Watch it!
Leo: The next time you get a gift from me, it's going to be that cutesy little picture collage that you just sent me, C.O.D.
Greenlee: Oh, my. He so wants me.
Leo: She wants me so bad.
Anna: Don't pine after Dixie. She doesn't deserve you, right?
David: And you do?
Anna: Well, I might if -- David? Damn. Not over. It's not over, David.
Jake: Later. Hey.
Jake: You're still here?
Mia: Yeah, I was just, you know, practicing my one and a half backward camel off of these babies, and I thought if I tanked I should probably be near emergency care, and -- well, actually, I was -- I was waiting for you.
Jake: Oh. Is there something else I can help you with?
Mia: Well, you never answered my question. Can I ask you out or not, Dr. Martin?
Jake: Uh -- no, no. Actually, you canít.
Mia: Ooh, boy. God, I wish there was a big hole I could jump into right now with my one good leg.
Jake: Well, you can't ask me out because I'm asking you first. Are you free?
Mia: Yeah. I -- I'm kind of lousy on these crutches, though --
Jake: Really? Really? Tommy -- Tommy -- would you -- would you mind running these crutches out to my car?
Tommy: Sure, Dr. Martin. I could use the fresh air.
Jake: All right. Thank you very much.
Mia: Bad on them, but I -- I don't think I can walk on my -- my bad ankle.
Jake: Oh. Oh, really? Well, here.
Mia: Well, wait -- whoa!
Jake: Does it feel better now?
Mia: Uh -- yeah. Yeah, that's kind of awesome.
Jake: Well, that's good, that's good. Here, let's --
Jake: Go out this way and go to my car. Oh.
Jake: Sorry. I'm banging you up.
Opal: Well, seems Dixie found her own way home, so I thought I'd come check on you, honey. Are you okay? What is it?
Bianca: I was wrong about what happened to Frankie, Opal.
Opal: How so?
Bianca: I was -- oh, God, I was so wrong.
Erica: I love you, too.
Dixie: Okay, that's enough. Go home.
