>> Previously on "All My Children" --
Erica: You were wonderful tonight.
Chris: You needed somebody to listen to you, not make love to you.
Simone: Don't go meet whoever it is they're sending.
Mateo: It's done. Just stay out of it.
Greenlee: I didn't do anything to anyone.
Officer: Ma'am, do you live here? You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used --
Greenlee: Oh, Leo, for God's sake, if I've ever meant anything to you, stop this now.
Officer: Do you understand these rights as they've been read to you?
Greenlee: You know, I understand I'm the only sane person here.
Brooke: Everything's going to be all right now.
Greenlee: Like calling the cops could solve her problems.
Laura: Leo, can we please just go inside?
Greenlee: Hey, this is what you wanted. Why don't you come along and gloat while I pose for mug shots.
Leo: Nobody's happy about this.
Greenlee: Oh, your mama is. And talk about harassment -- she's been tailing me all over town.
Officer: Let's go.
Greenlee: Hey, I'm not going anywhere with you.
Leo: Don't make this any worse than it already is.
Greenlee: Someone scribble my name on a wedding list, that's grounds for arrest?
Laura: It was your handwriting.
Greenlee: Like you know!
Leo: Greenlee, I recognized it.
Brooke: I told you I would stop you, Greenlee.
Officer: Come on.
Greenlee: Let go of me!
Officer: Resisting arrest is not a smart move, lady.
Greenlee: I just told you to take your hands off me. Give me a break.
Officer: We tried it the nice way.
Greenlee: For crying out loud, handcuffs?
Officer: That's enough, Ms. Smythe.
Greenlee: Oh, you two are going to have such a lawsuit on your hands.
Brooke: Listen, you guys go inside. I can handle this.
[Jake sees Laura put her meds in Greenlee's purse]
Jake: What's there to handle?
Brooke: Jake. Thank God.
Laura: Please, Leo, I'm so tired.
Greenlee: Do something, they're trying to arrest me.
Brooke: Go on. Go on inside. She's not a threat now.
Greenlee: I never have been. They're accusing me of breaking in, which you know is a lie.
Jake: I want you to try to stay calm and I'll see what I can do.
Brooke: Jake, for your own sake, just stay out of this.
Jake: Greenlee's not going to jail. Think you've had trouble before, Leo? This is just the beginning.
[Jake picks up Greenlee's purse off the ground]
Erica: Greenlee, your machine just cut me off again! How dare you! Who do you think you are, just drop off the face of my earth without my permission?
[Chris takes Erica's cell phone from her and makes another call]
Chris: Excuse me. In the interest of blood pressure levels throughout Pine Valley, would you please have those ads on Ms. Kane's desk by the morning? Thank you.
Chris: No, in your hands, this is a formidable weapon.
Erica: Well, I'm not finished with her yet.
Chris: Well, would you please finish with her because I don't know how much more of this I can take.
Erica: We, then you'd better just drive me back to Enchantment because I have to approve the visuals before I can even discuss placement.
Chris: Nice smokescreen.
Chris: Smokescreen. For what's really gnawing at you -- Bianca.
Erica: Look, Bianca has just turned all of her upset on me. And I really don't understand it. I don't. I don't know why she doesn't just see through this con artist, this Frankie.
Chris: She'll come around.
Erica: Well, I hope so. I really do. Because otherwise, if I can't fix this, I'm going to lose my daughter. And then I will be alone.
Chris: Oh, no, no, no. You will never be alone. I'm here.
Chris: Excuse me a minute. Look, I'm sorry. I had to pick up Ms. Kane. Mateo understands. Sometimes my life is a juggling act.
Simone: Mm-hmm. Well, your act leaves me cold.
Tim: Unhappy customer at 3:00.
Simone: I'll be right there.
[Mateo talks to a figure hiding in the dark]
Mateo: Come on out, I can't see you.
Roger: I'm here. That should be enough.
Mateo: No, we talk face to face or we don't talk at all.
Mateo: Roger Smythe.
Roger: Well, now that that mystery's solved, why did you call this meeting?
Mateo: I'm not doing business with you anymore. My involvement with your organization is over, so you can just find somebody else to launder your money for you.
Roger: After all the time and effort we've put it into you? I don't think so.
[Mateo pulls a gun on Roger]
Mateo: Listen to me -- either I get my life back or I'm taking yours.
[At the court house]
Leo: So what's a preliminary arraignment? I thought they just brought Greenlee in here like a half an hour ago.
Brooke: Well, let's just say some people, like Judge Cates, don't believe that the wheels of justice should grind slowly.
Laura: Yeah, it pays to be well connected.
Leo: Mm-hmm. So what's Judge Cates going to do exactly?
Brooke: Just move things along, that's all.
Laura: You don't want Greenlee to sabotage our wedding, do you?
Leo: Come on, Laura. You know me better than that. It's just, I want this to be fair, that's all I'm saying.
Brooke: Leo, really, it's just an informal hearing, and it's just to stop Greenlee before she does anything more drastic, that's all.
Edmund: Stop Greenlee? What's this about Greenlee? Hi.
Brooke: Hi, Edmund.
Edmund: Hey. I was here on another case. What's going on?
Brooke: Um -- I had to have Greenlee arrested.
Edmund: That's pretty extreme.
Brooke: She's not stable.
Edmund: She hasn't exactly threatened Laura, has she?
Brooke: You mean, has she attempted murder since she pushed my daughter off The Fidelity?
Edmund: Ok, that was dumb, but she was drugged. Come on, she's not trying to murder Laura.
Brooke: You don't know that, and Laura's condition is precarious, and I don't want Greenlee doing anything else to harm her. I don't care if it is extreme -- ah, Grace, hi. I'm so glad that you could come tonight. Thank you.
Grace: Well, I'm earning my fee, but how did you drag Judge Cates down here?
Brooke: Well, fortunately, we go way back. Grace, I'd like you to meet Leo and my daughter, Laura.
Grace: Leo, chill. You don't have to be nervous. This will be a walk in the park.
[Simone to some customers who complained]
Simone: You know, you're right. The service has been less than stellar. I apologize. I also suggest that you and your friend find somewhere else to go.
Chris: Simone --
Simone: Here. Have a great day.
Chris: Where's Mateo?
Simone: Doing business.
Chris: Doing what?
Simone: You know -- let him tell you, all right? You know, he wanted you here to lend a hand, and we're managing.
Chris: That was an interesting style of management you have. You offend and eject customers?
Simone: What? You think you can do better? Huh? Next time, why don't you stick around and teach me.
Erica: Who was it who just said, "You will never be alone"?
Chris: Sorry. Damage control. Some people, they just don't appreciate my work ethic.
Erica: You shouldn't have come to Enchantment.
Chris: No, no, no. You needed me more than they did.
Erica: Still, look, if Mateo is angry with you, let me speak with him.
Chris: Forget it. It'll blow over.
Erica: Let me ask you something -- how many covers does an agent need?
Chris: As many as necessary. Besides, I need the extra cash.
Erica: Oh. Credit card debt?
Chris: Uh-uh. A beautiful woman of expensive, discriminating taste.
Erica: What would I ever do without you?
Chris: You never need to find out.
Erica: What can I do about Bianca? How can I get through to her?
Chris: In my opinion?
Chris: Your action right now should be to take no action at all.
Erica: Thanks for nothing.
Chris: No, when things are that hot, sometimes it pays to back off.
Erica: You mean, just sit idly by?
Chris: And see how things go. When it cools down, then you take action.
Mateo's voice: They called. They're sending someone to meet me outside.
Simone's voice: And what are you going to do? Talk? To a killer?
Mateo's voice: Just stay inside.
Simone's voice: I can't.
Mateo's voice: If you don't, I'll blow your cover, Simone.
Simone: So blow my cover. Mateo? Oh, dear God. Mateo?
Roger: Ow! Take it easy, huh?
Mateo: Welcome back.
Roger: Where are we?
Mateo: What, you don't recognize the place?
Roger: All right, it's a beach.
Mateo: You took pictures of my wife and me here.
Roger: All right, here's the good news -- all beaches look alike, so your secret is safe with me.
Mateo: No, it's not safe. Nothing's safe with you. But that all ends here, doesn't it?
Roger: Come on. You're not going to kill me, Mateo. You're smarter than that.
Mateo: No, I'm the perfect employee. No honor, no scruples.
Roger: Come on! You'd ruin your wife's life and your child's!
Mateo: Tell me what I want to hear! And I'll consider giving you a reprieve. Just let me off the hook, Proteus. Let me off the hook!
Roger: I'm not Proteus!
Mateo: Look, I'm losing patience.
Roger: I'm not Proteus! I swear to God! I'm a lackey like you are. Proteus sent me here to try to talk some sense into you.
Mateo: If that's true, you made a big mistake.
Roger: Don't -- don't pull that trigger. Look, if you shoot me, Proteus is going to take you out. And then we're going to have two dead men.
[To Brooke - -]
Edmund: There's two cops there. What could she do? Come on.
Greenlee: Welcome to kangaroo court. Who's playing the judge, your Aunt Phoebe?
Leo: It's only a hearing, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Oh, I'm not being burned at the stake? How comforting. Thank you so much.
Leo: It's not a trial.
Greenlee: You mean, we still have due process in Pine Valley? Even with the mighty crusading hypocrite? Oh, I'm sorry. I meant to say journalist. Brooke English is running the show?
Jake: Derek Frye said you refused an attorney?
Greenlee: Yeah, well, since this whole mess is bogus, I thought I could straighten it out myself. Of course, I was wrong.
Jake: This is Kirk Jefferys, and he's going to represent you.
Kirk: Jake filled me in on the way over. I need to confer with my client, privately.
Officer: Knock yourself out. We'll be over here.
Jake: All right.
Greenlee: So what do you -- what, do you file some papers, an appeal or something to get them to drop the charges against me? What?
Kirk: I'm afraid it's more complicated than that.
Greenlee: You're afraid?
Jake: He's good. He's good. He's going to take good care of you.
Greenlee: This whole thing is so out of hand. Brooke went ballistic because she assumed I was in their stupid courtyard with intent to stalk.
Greenlee: And? What do you mean, and? Just go in there and explain to Judge Judy that this is all your fault. The address? The message that you had that nurse relay to me?
Jake: Greenlee, I didn't have anyone relay any kind of message to you.
Greenlee: That vile, crafty, little wench.
Jake: Laura set you up.
Greenlee: I should be used to it by now.
Bailiff: Greenlee Smythe? Judge Cates is ready for you.
Greenlee: Laura's been framing me all along. We need to nail her.
Jake: All right. Listen -- Laura is not nearly as smart as she thinks she is. You just let me handle her.
Erica: Look, Chris, I have told you -- waiting is not my long suit.
Chris: Well, then, why don't you give it a shot? If you wait, it'll pay off. Trust me.
Erica: But she's so young.
Chris: And smart.
Erica: And Bianca is too loving and too trusting.
Chris: Erica, what's the worst that can happen?
Erica: Look, Chris, Bianca's had an awful lot of problems in her life already, and believe me, she would just be destroyed by Frankie's betrayal.
Chris: If Frankie betrays her.
Erica: If? If? It would harden her heart.
Chris: You've had disappointments, no?
Erica: I don't want to talk about that.
Chris: Betrayals --
Erica: I don't want to talk about me.
Chris: How is your heart?
Erica: My heart's never been better, thank you. But please, I'm going to ask you to back off. Because I am just worried sick about Bianca.
Chris: Then I'll distract you.
Chris: For starters --
[Chris kisses Erica]
Chris: How's that?
Erica: It's nice.
Chris: Even nicer -- go away with me.
Roger: So what's it going to be? It's a lose-lose proposition. And two men dying is no victory.
Mateo: I want out. I want out.
Roger: There's only one way out of this. And that way is mapped by Proteus. So you go back to your club and you launder that cash.
Mateo: No, no, no. I can't do that.
Roger: You think about your wife and your child! You can still have a good life!
Mateo: For how long? Huh? Till the Feds catch up and throw me in jail, huh?
Roger: You'll have your family and you'll have their love.
Mateo: What the hell you know about them?
Roger: I know. Where is your wife tonight, Mateo?
Mateo: That's none of your concern!
Roger: No, no, it's your concern. But I assure you, I assure you, that Proteus knows where your wife is.
Mateo: Shut up.
Roger: And how she is.
Mateo: Shut up! She's fine.
Roger: Right. She was fine when you left her. And how long ago was that?
Kirk: Your honor, if I may address the court --
Judge: Mr. Jefferys, before we make this late night even later, this is a preliminary hearing. So let's all relax, shall we?
Greenlee: Easy for her to say.
Judge: Mr. And Mrs. du Pres, you are the plaintiffs. Yet, according to this, you did not call the arresting officers to the scene?
Laura: That is correct, your honor.
Judge: But you do support the charges of criminal trespass and harassment?
Judge: I need a yes or no. I need a response now.
Leo: Yes, your honor, I'm sorry. I mean no. No, I don't -- I don't want to bring charges against Greenlee Smythe.
Brooke: Leo, for God's sake.
Laura: Leo, she has been torturing me.
Brooke: You can't ignore what she's done. She's trying to destroy your wife.
[Judge pounds gavel]
Judge: All of you!
Judge: That's better. Now, Mr. du Pres, I'd like to hear more from you.
Leo: Well, I'm not sure what to say exactly, except that I'm sorry that we all had to come here for nothing.
Judge: I see. So there is, in your view, no problem between you and your wife and Ms. Smythe?
Leo: Well, there are problems, all right, but it's nothing that we need to drag through the courts.
Brooke: Leo, how can you say that? Greenlee is crazy.
Greenlee: Compared to Laura, I am the poster child for mental health.
Judge: Enough! Ms. English, we've known each other a long time. Don't force me to cite you for contempt.
Jake: Hey, just relax.
Leo: Look, we've -- we've all been acting, well, irrationally from time to time, and I think that that's putting it mildly. But things haven't been normal for a long time. We're all sort of in uncharted territory right now, but we can work it out. We really can. We just have to find a way that we can compromise. We have to.
[Laura pretends to be dizzy]
Judge: What do you think? Should I call 911?
Laura: My chest. My meds -- I haven't taken my medication.
Leo: She misplaced her pills. I don't know.
Greenlee: How convenient.
Laura: This is your fault!
Greenlee: Oh, please.
Laura: No, you broke in. You stole my pills.
Greenlee: This isn't the first time Mrs. du Pres' pills have gone south in the interest of high drama.
Brooke: She is trying to destroy my daughter!
Greenlee: That is ridiculous!
Brooke: You broke into their apartment and you took her medication. I know you did.
Greenlee: Then frisk me! Pat me down! Anything to shut them up. Here, here. Go ahead. Knock yourself out.
[Greenlee dumps the contents of her purse on the table]
Greenlee: Search it. Go on. Here, look. Let's see, let's see -- tissues, mints, makeup, keys. Huh, no lock-picking tools, no medication. Why, Brooke? Because your daughter is a fake and a liar.
Laura: Maybe I should go to the hospital.
Leo: What are you doing?
Jake: No, no, no. Laura misplaced her meds. Maybe -- maybe you just overlooked them. What do you know, Laura? They're right here in your purse all along.
[Jake opens Laura's purse and shows everyone the pills he took out of Greenlee's bag and put back into Laura's]
Jake: Here you are.
Erica: Go away with you?
Erica: Now? I mean, this weekend? Just drop out of sight now?
Chris: Just for the weekend. We'll take a suite at the Prescott House.
Erica: But Bianca --
Chris: Bianca and you will get the time and space that you need.
Erica: And you? What will you get?
Chris: That, Ms. Kane, is entirely up to you.
Opal: Oh, thank heavens! You are the answer to my agonized, howling prayers.
Erica: I assume you're talking to me.
Opal: I have scoured this town. I find you here?
Chris: Hello, Opal.
Opal: Oh, hey. Listen, could you get me a Long Island Iced Tea, pronto?
Opal: Or a Nantucket or a New Zealand? Whatever island has the wettest, longest concoction that'll hit me the fastest, ok?
Erica: Opal, what are you doing? I hate to see you like this.
Opal: You should -- this is calm, Honey. You should have seen me with the wicked witch of Pine Valley just now.
Chris: I'll -- give you ladies some privacy.
Opal: Yeah, thanks.
Erica: So, you mean Vanessa.
Opal: Vanessa. Yes, of course. Vanessa and her satanic mate.
Opal: Yeah, that mean-spirited, wizened old weasel.
Erica: Who are you talking about? Which one?
Opal: Oh, what's the dif? I mean, they both qualify, don't they? What, did they actually go to long island for my beverage? You know, I went over to that lair, just trying to help you and Bianca. You know, get Vanessa to maybe pitch in, take a little responsibility for Frankie.
Erica: Oh, well, of course she wouldn't do that.
Opal: No, natch. No, she's far too busy skinning puppies for her new winter coat, you know, to have any care at all for her own flesh and blood.
Chris: Here you go. This isn't about "pain in the rear" customers, Simone. What set you off? Come on. Talk to me .
Mateo: Don't you threaten my wife.
Roger: I'm not! I'm offering you a chance to profit from my mistake.
Roger: Because two years ago, I met a woman. Her name was Sandra. I'd been years in an unhappy marriage. It ground me down. This woman pulled me up. She taught me how to love again. But I was greedy. I was stupid. I couldn't wait to start my life with her. And knowing that I would never get any money from my wife, I decided to turn to an independent source of cash.
Roger: No. No, I skimmed money from my daughter's trust fund.
Mateo: That's nice. That's really nice.
Roger: Yeah, I wasn't proud of it. Look, the plan was to repay my daughter as soon as Sandra and I found ourselves safe somewhere.
Mateo: And that's when you hooked up with Proteus? Right?
Roger: Look, like you, I didn't want to have anything to do with drugs. And I lasted about three months. And then I decided to bail. I decided to talk. I was going to give names and places, the entire operation.
Mateo: But you didn't?
Roger: No. No. Because on my way, I got a phone call. On my way to the police, a phone call from an electronically controlled voice. "Mr. Smythe, since you decided to break our hearts, we're going to do you one better."
Roger: I wasn't sure. I raced back to my apartment and I found her in the bedroom. She was so peaceful. It looked like she was sleeping. So content. The coroner said it was a heart attack. I'd been gone for 15 minutes, Mateo. 15 Minutes.
Opal: All right, all right. I know, alcohol is a depressant. It ages you prematurely.
Erica: And you don't need it. Nobody does. It's poison. Come on, Opal. Besides, you're just giving Vanessa too much power.
Opal: Oh, giving her power? I'll tell you what I'd like to give that ornery sow -- a face-lift with my bare hands and a rusty chisel.
Erica: Too good for her, Opal.
Opal: No lie. I mean, if I could rid the world of that Vanessa dame without doing hard time, I'd snuff her like that.
Erica: And then you'd have another crack at Palmer.
Opal: Excuse me? The only crack I would like to take at Palmer would be with a two-by-four aimed at his cranium, ok?
Erica: Oh, come on, Opal. Deep down, you know you cannot bear the fact that he's with that wicked witch of Pine Valley. You know that. You don't have to deny it to me.
Opal: I would be a sorry excuse for a female if I harbored still one, tiny, even little shred of feeling for that -- that -- oh! You should have just seen him just sitting there, smirking at me all the time with his bargain-basement Joan Collins, insulting me left and right. So much for sisterhood. I should have gone straight home and e-mailed Oprah.
[Opal leaves SOS in a huff]
Chris: It's not like Mateo to desert you when -- thanks to me -- you're understaffed.
Simone: Yeah, well --
Mateo's voice: What if Chris is the caller? He's never here when I get the calls from the computerized voice.
Simone: Who knows what's going on in his head these days? Mateo and Hayley, parenthood -- it's like he's got all these extra demands on him, and he leaves me to, like, run the ship, and I barely know the drill. Like, who cares, right? It's not like anybody died.
Chris: Sorry I wasn't around. I'm back.
Erica: Did you see Opal? I mean, she was in quite a mood.
Chris: Well, she's not the only one.
Erica: She needs a man. Well, she needs a particular man.
Chris: Which brings us back to a more interesting subject, more pleasant. You, me, the Prescott House.
Chris: Hold that thought.
Chris: Hello? It's not a good time.
Roger: We have business to take care of. Enchantment business.
Leo: She going to be all right? Laura, you should have stayed home.
Jake: Her pulse is racing.
Leo: This is too much excitement for her.
Brooke: Maybe we should go to the ER.
Jake: Well, actually, there's no reason to admit her because she's breathing easier. Just want to be more careful with these.
Brooke: Are you sure, Jake? Because I can call David.
Jake: No, actually, Dr. Hayward has enough to keep him busy. Why don't you tell your mom you're ok.
[Laura realizes Jake is on to her]
Laura: I'm fine, Mom.
Brooke: Thank God.
Judge: If everyone is able, I'd like to continue. Mrs. du Pres, you might be more comfortable outside.
Laura: No, actually, I would like to stay.
Brooke: Honey, are you sure?
Laura: Yes, I belong here with my husband.
Judge: Very well. Mr. du Pres, you referred to a compromise?
Leo: Yes, your honor.
Judge: Do you have anything specific in mind?
Grace: Ah, your honor, a restraining order against Ms. Smythe would be the simplest solution.
Leo: It's not necessary.
Brooke: Leo, Greenlee has to be stopped.
Judge: Ms. Haplin --
Grace: Judge Cates, Ms English is justifiably outraged. Her daughter's health is an obvious issue in this matter.
Edmund: Your honor, may I please speak to Ms. English for a moment?
Judge: Whoever you are, I wish you would. Outside.
Edmund: Later, there'll be bars between us.
Judge: Excellent point.
Judge: Continue, Mr. du Pres.
Leo: Ah, ok. Greenlee, swear to me that you're going to stay away from Laura. Say that you won't bother her again and we're done here. No legal action.
Grace: What? Leo: No.
Just let me handle this, please.
Kirk: Agree. It's a terrific offer. Take it.
[Meanwhile, outside the court room]
Brooke: It's bad enough that we have to deal with this at all and then Leo surrenders?
Edmund: Are we at war?
Brooke: Yeah, we are. Which shows how much you know. And Judge Cates, I thought was supposed to be on our side.
Edmund: Brooke, would you listen to yourself? Just get a grip here.
Brooke: Don't talk down to me!
Edmund: I'm trying to help you, ok?
Brooke: Why? By having this personally supervised time-out? My daughter's life is at stake.
Edmund: Would you let the three of them just settle it among themselves.
Brooke: I think that Laura has been through so much, I don't think she's quite a match for Greenlee.
Edmund: You're 100% sure that Greenlee is the only person at fault here?
Brooke: What are you talking about? Greenlee's alliance with Jake? Or the fact that she still controls Leo?
Edmund: Actually, I'm talking about Laura.
[Edmund hands Brooke the article Laura gave him for Tempo]
Brooke: "When Jealousy Leads To Madness."
Edmund: By Mrs. du Pres.
Edmund: So read it.
Brooke: I don't need to read this. Obviously, Laura has anxieties. She's trying to put her feelings into words. Greenlee will not stop, Edmund. It's why we're here.
Edmund: Is it? I didn't see any anxiety in those words.
Brooke: You know, you haven't heard a word I've said. My daughter's living her life in fear.
Edmund: I don't think so. I think you and Leo are.
Brooke: I think that you don't -- can't even begin to imagine what my daughter is going through.
Edmund: What, are you talking about the transplant? You're right. You're right. But she's a very strong woman, ok? She is not some cowering victim.
Brooke: This time-out's over.
[Brooke goes back into the court room]
Edmund: That went well.
Judge: Ms. Smythe, we're waiting for your answer.
Jake: See if you can convince her that this is her best option.
Kirk: I can do this without --
Greenlee: No. No, I haven't done anything wrong. My plea is not guilty.
Judge: That wasn't the question, Ms. Smythe.
Leo: Greenlee, why can't you promise to stay away from her?
Brooke: Leo, how can you expect Greenlee to keep a promise?
Judge: Mr. du Pres, it's late and I'm tired. You made Ms. Smythe a generous offer, but since she's unwilling to accept it --
Leo: Greenlee, don't do this.
Kirk: Your honor, I request a 15-minute recess.
Judge: Why, Mr. Jefferys?
Jake: Because I need to talk with Ms. Smythe.
Judge: You are her physician, too, Dr. Martin?
Jake: My relationship with Greenlee is personal. I'm her boyfriend.
Judge: Of course you are.
Kirk: Dr. Martin feels he might bring a resolution to this matter.
Judge: Two minutes, Dr. Martin, and everyone stays put.
[Jake talks to Greenlee privately]
Jake: Listen, this is not the time to take the moral high ground.
Greenlee: And you call yourself a Martin.
Jake: No, this is serious, Greenlee.
Greenlee: So what? Should I cave? Plea bargain? I didn't do --
Greenlee and Jake: Anything.
Jake: I know, I know.
Greenlee: So how can you ask me to pretend that I did?
Jake: Because you have been set up. She played you good, all right? She's been stealing meds to make her seem sick, but to prove that, I need your help. You need to accept Leo's offer so that you can be free to help me prove this. And we're going to nail her. Otherwise --
Greenlee: It's admitting guilt, Jake.
Jake: Temporarily, Greenlee. Now go and kick the dirt. Swear you're sorry and that you're never going to do it again. That's the only way out. You have to trust me on this.
[Chris talks on the phone]
Chris: Make it fast.
Roger: So suddenly you're in a hurry, huh? Two months ago, you said you'd fix it so I could get back inside Enchantment.
Chris: Yeah, well, I'm working on it.
Roger: Work harder! Proteus wants you to earn your living, Agent Stamp.
Chris: You'll be back on the inside this weekend.
Roger: You do realize you can't afford to disappoint us.
Chris: You can count on me. Look, got to go.
Erica: I didn't mean to hurry you.
Chris: No, no, that's ok. We were just finished.
Erica: Business? Look, I didn't mean to endanger any of your sting operations.
Chris: No, no, no. This is nothing that dire. Now come on. Make my weekend, Lady. Say we're a go.
Erica: I can't. I can't, Chris. I'm sorry. I'm just as disappointed as you are.
Chris: I doubt that.
Erica: It's just -- it's the worst time for me. I mean, I really am so on edge about Bianca.
Chris: Well, I have ways of taking off the edge.
Erica: I bet you do.
Erica: But isn't this a really bad time for you? I mean, aren't you supposed to just focus on your mission?
Chris: The only mission I have right now, Lady, is gaining your trust.
Erica: You've already gone a long, long way in gaining my trust.
Chris: Great. Then believe me when I say we both need to get away this weekend. More than you know. Say yes.
Erica: But, Chris, I'm not --
Jake: I mean it. No fooling around.
Bailiff: Two minutes to the second, your honor.
Judge: Ms. Smythe, has Dr. Martin brought about a change of heart?
Greenlee: Ah -- yes, your honor. I accept Mr. du Pres' compromise.
Brooke: You can't be serious.
Greenlee: I never want to be anywhere near Leo and Laura du Pres ever again.
Brooke: We're accepting Greenlee Smythe's word? You expect her to adhere to an honor system?
Judge: Evidently, Mr. And Mrs. du Pres believe exactly that.
[Jake whispers to a stunned Laura]
Jake: You're going to tell them you planted the meds in Greenlee's purse?
[Mateo rushes into his bedrooms and sees Hayley asleep]
Mateo: Hayley? Hey, Babe. Hey. Hey, Honey, wake up. Don't scare me. Come on. Hey. Wake up. Wake up! [Mateo can't wake Hayley up]
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Jake: Are you still in love with him? Do you think that you could possibly fall in love with me?
Leo: Are you sure my wife isn't -- are you sure she's ok?
Edmund: So what do you think? Want to get a room at the Pine Cone tonight?
