August 29, 2004

He said that they have big plans to have it going until a 6th season, and, precisely because of that, Welling is Probably not going to play Superman. He said that Welling's appearance implies pushing the movie two years, since according to him. Personally I'd prefer having two more Smallville seasons than having Tom in the movie.

Gough Back to the First Season

August 27, 2004

This year, because some dates changes, Smallville lost 25 % of the audience. In an interview with USA Today, Alfred Gough agreed that in the 3rd season the series got away from its initial purpose, since the cast spend a lot of time in secret labs, and a whole lot of other non-teenage stuff.
For the 4th season, Gough talks about a return to the 1st and 2nd season's teenage-focused episodes, so Clark (Tom Welling) can explore his last high school year. The Smallville Panel at the San Diego Comic Con International was really amazing. Present were Alison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), John Glover (Lionel Luthor), Erica Durance (Lois Lane) and Jensen Ackles (Jason Teague). But what eager fans will have noticed was Alison's insistence in Chloe's death. Personally, I'll just let her believe she can trick us.

He wants more and more!!

July 20, 2004

At the WB's 2004 Summer All-Star Party was Mr. Jonathan Kent himself, aka John Schneider. When asked about his job as the director of "Talisman", and about directing again, he said.:
"I would love to direct another episode, because I was so impressed with the hidden abilities of not only the actors and actresses on the show, but of the crew, and of the people who write it. Acting is easy. Actors don't really dissect anything but what they're doing. But as a director, you've got to dissect the whole thing. That's when I found out why Smallville is doing so well, because of the talent that's behind it, and under it, and around it."

Behind The Scenes Pics!

July 20, 2004

C Feldman is a photographer for the Hollywood North Reporter (a great site that has info about the filming of TV shows and films in Canada, and as you know, Smallville is shot in Vancouver, BC). Feldman has taken some great shots of the Smallville crew, hard at work, filming the scenes of  Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) and Jensen Ackles (Jason Teague). In one of the largest TV shoots in recent memory, a whole block was made to look like Paris, in France. There were over 100 extras in cars, on bikes and on-foot, as well as a huge number of crew members. While the photographer did not catch any scenes of Kristin and Jensen, he does confirm that the characters of Lana and Jason do kiss! hmm.... Check out the nine great photos on their site, click here.

Erica's Secrets!

July 19, 2004

Erica Durance (Lois Lane) is the latest arrival in Smallville, but she doesn't seem to have had that many roles under her belt, right? Wrong! Erica has been, until recently, credited under her married name, Erica Parker. She is no longer married... More about her in the news section of Femme Fatales.

Bryan Singer's Superman Challenge

July 18, 2004

Bryan Singer, the famous director of the X-Men films, is the last name under the lights to direct the new Superman movie, according to "Variety". This could be very good news for Smallville because Singer is not in the habit of simply retelling a story already told.

Lex Luthor, The Good Guy!!

July 17, 2004

KryptonSite has given us more of Michael Rosenbaum's (Lex Luthor) quotes, this time, Michael reveals that he's actually the good guy! Nice try Mike!
"I think Lex is the anti-hero. I think he is the good guy. I mean, I am fighting - it's a lot harder to fight being evil than it is being good. I mean, Clark's always good. Always a good guy. Every episode, he saves everybody. I'm doing everything I can not to piss people off, not to be the bad guy. Not to follow in my father's footsteps. And that's a lot to take for anybody."
And here's Michael's wish list for the future:
"Well, I think it's escalated to the point where there's only one way to go. I think with the end of Season 4 and going into Season 5, we have to make drastic changes. I don't know what else to do, except we have to go our separate ways, eventually. I don't know when that's gonna happen. I really don't. They don't tell me that. On a personal level, I think five strong seasons, and at the end of Season 5, s*** happens. You know what I mean? Go out with a bang. Don't linger it on like some of these other shows. I hope that that's what they do, and the writing's strong enough that I think that would be a great thing. I mean, obviously the fans probably want more. But maybe not. Maybe the fans want what I want."

Sci-Fi Tells us About Clark's Flying Abilities!!

July 16, 2004

Well, every season, Clark has developed a new ability. And, while his Ice Breath is still to be developed, we can't help but wonder about his flying, something the producers have toyed with, but have never let him explore. And, well, there's that "no flights, no tights" motto that the producers have been repeating since the series started. Well, the producers explain all in this spoiler-ish article. Click here to read it.

Keeping the Balance!

July 15, 2004

Mickey's Humor!

July 15, 2004

The WB All-Star Party was held last night in Hollywood. Our regular Smallville Socialite Mike Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) was there, along with both Smallville Dads, John Glover (Lionel Luthor) and John Schneider (Jonathan Kent). Here are some great pictures, thanks to KryptonSite.
Also, KryptonSite got some great quotes from Michael, reminding us again just how great his sense of humor is.
"How can there not be a spark when you're hanging out with Lana? She's absolutely beautiful. She blushes, too, on set. Like, I'll go, wow, Kristin, you look beautiful. She doesn't like hearing that. She likes to hear other stuff. So I've actually learned Season Three, and now going into Season Four, to try and do everything I can not to compliment her. Like, you're right. I don't think you look very good today. In fact, I won't let my mother in that dress. And she's like unh, and then she sort of laughs, because she likes it. 'Cause usually people are just telling her how great she is, how beautiful she is. I mix it up a little bit."
About on-set prankstering:
"Anywhere from fart machines on set, to real farts, to, uh, one of the guest stars last year put a whole bowl of chili in my toilet, and took a Polaroid picture of her on the toilet. I was sort of aggravated. I thought it was real."
And who was it? "Emmanuelle Vaugier, who played my wife. And then I threw her off an airplane. So, it worked out."

Our sincere wishes to DTS!!

July 14, 2004

As most of you know, one of the best resources (apart from this site, of course) for all things Smallville is the website called Devoted to Smallville. Recently, however, Devoted to Smallville and the entire Devoted Fan Network has been hacked into. This means that they have lost a lot of their data. We know from our own experience that this is devastating, and causes a HUGE amount of work to rebuild the site. I am sure that DTS will be relying on the support of their fans and any possible donations to help them through this difficult period, so that they may entertain us once again with the website we know and love.
For more information on Devoted to Smallville, to read their message and to make donations, click here. We wish our friends at DTS all the best in rebuilding their website, we feel for you!! ...and we miss your forums terribly!! Come back to us quickly!!
