  • Cloverdale is Smallville!!
A Canadian fan sent in pictures to the SupermanHomepage that show the town where Smallville is being filmed. The town is called Cloverdale. Click on each picture to enlarge them. Clova movie theatre is used as the exterior for The Talon.

This is what the fan wrote to the SupermanHomepage: " Cloverdale is a community in the city of Surrey, which is on the west coast of Canada, about 30km from Vancouver (and about 3 hour drive north of Seattle). The area is suburban, but with a western feel - they have a yearly rodeo and there are lots of agricultural lands and farms in the area. As you will see, the Clova movie theatre doubles as the exterior for the Talon. When the series decided to use this street, they did an extensive renovation to the exterior. The old theatre exterior was very plain. When the series is shooting, they replace the Clova's name with the Talon. The interior is a movie theatre, not a coffee shop."

  • Kristin on KROQ!!
Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) interviewed with California's KROQ. Here's a excerpt, thanks to SmallvilleFans.com:
"Kristin Kreuk can keep a secret. Ask her to preview "Exodus," tonight's final installment of the two-part season finale of "Smallville," and the actress barely spills any beans.
"There's a lot going on," she says. "You've got Clark (Tom Welling) dealing with his father (John Schneider) and his destiny and trying to overcome it. He's trying to continue to be the person he believes himself to be.
"So he's got that whole struggle and this huge emotional roller coaster he's on. Then you've got Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) and Helen (Emmanuelle Vaugier) and their wedding and their problems."
Sounds great, but what about Kreuk's character, Lana?
We mentioned to Kreuk, who's on the phone from her home in Vancouver, B.C., that the WB's official "Smallville" Web site features a shot of Lana and Clark smooching. And last week's episode, "Calling," ended with Chloe (Allison Mack) in tears after she glimpsed Lana and Clark locking lips. "Lana and Clark are dealing with their issues too," laughs the 20-year-old Kreuk. "She's watching him fall apart, and that's really difficult for her because he never tells [her] what's going on. Their romantic relationship moves forward, but really, there are many issues involved with that."
"Smallville" started two years ago and became an instant hit. Kreuk, like many people, is surprised that the show is more popular than ever now.
"I just think it's got so many great elements," she says. "It's got action, romance and crazy family stories. It's also got great special effects. And the cast is amazing and has great chemistry."

  • More Lucas Luthor!!
We met Lucas Luthor once only, so far, in the episode named "Prodigal". Recently, the actor who portrayed the second Luthor son, Paul Wasilewski, gave an interview to Cult Times. According to KryptonSite, Paul talked about Lucas revisiting Smallville: "I think that the Luthor genes do not allow Lucas to be nice to anyone in any way whatsoever. I don't think he's capable of it. In real life, I think there is no such thing as a one-dimensional character - there are layers and reasons as to why a person is the way they are. But I think that when it comes to the Superman legend, the whole appeal is that it is good versus evil, and I love playing someone who is sheer out-and-out malicious. It's fun to play because we know Lex will inevitably turn to the dark side, but Lucas is already there and is pushing Lex every step of the way. So if Lucas comes back - and he has been invited - I would think that he would cause more ruckus and more trouble and love every minute of it," he said.
He also reveals that the most memorable part of doing Smallville was Michael Rosenbaum's singing. Yep, friends, Lex is nuts. Anyhow, the latest Cult Times is now available at newsstands in the United States!

  • Sneak Peak at this week's TV Guide (http://www.tvguide.com)
Here are some of the comments that you will find in this week's TV Guide (see our May 1st feature) from the cast and crew interviews:
    - Tom Welling (Clark Kent) says: "Clark's got the physical ability to have this relationship with Lana but not the emotional ability, That's what he struggles through."
    - Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) says: "In the last three episodes of this season, they get pretty close. And it all obviously falls apart, like these things always do."
    - Al Gough (Co-Creator) says: "People are always curious as to what would turn a person evil to a point of no return. I think that's the fascination with the Anakin Skywalker character in 'Star Wars.' Evil is a journey, not a light switch. There isn't going to be one moment that ultimately makes [Lex] turn evil. Just as Clark's story is the formation of a hero, Lex's story is the formation of a villain."
    - Al Gough also talks of Smallville's future: "In our heads, it's always been a five-year plan," says Al Gough. "We know what the finales are for each season. I think we've got sensibly two more years in high school, and then the next step would be college. And there can obviously be adjustments if the show continues beyond that."

  • Sneak Peak at last week's Canadian TV Guide (http://www.tvguide.ca)
    - Kristin Kreuk (Lana  Lang) reveals more about her character's relationship with both Clark Kent and Lex Luthor: "I think Clark's your marrying type, he's cute. He is king of funny and goofy. But Lex is really mysterious and has a lot of layers. You would definitely not want to marry him. Well, maybe that's because you know he's going to turn into the most evil man in the world. I think Lana ends up being Clark's confidante. She knows his secret, she knows his inclinations. It's interesting to see the journey from this romantic ping-pong game to the strong friendship that they have further down the line."
    - Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) also analyses his character: " Viewers are embracing the character because he has this vulnerability. He's trying to show the world he's not just another Luthor. And the viewers see these giant traumatic positions that he's put in - dealing with his father and his mother's death, being bald as a kid, growing up with no friends. "I think the audience is going to be very upset, and they can't hate him because they'll know why he's evil."

"After Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is visited by the ghost of a childhood friend, she turns to Clark (Tom Welling) for help in uncovering the truth about her new visitor. However, after Clark realizes the little girl is actually a kryptonite-enhanced clone, he rushes to save Lana before the revenge-seeking child harms her. Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) learns that Lionel (John Glover) is funding the krypto-cloning research."

  • Here is TV Guide's description of this week's Smallville episode: "Accelerate":
"The Superman mythology takes a backseat to an eerie tale involving Lana, who thinks she has seen the ghost of a childhood friend. The story kicks off inside an empty movie theater as Lana encounters 10-year-old Emily Dinsmore (Jodelle Micah Ferland), who drowned in a river years before. After the youngster suddenly vanishes, Lana wonders if she imagined the entire incident, but her doubts disappear when Emily visits her again. A curious Clark then sets out to find a logical explanation and discovers some startling details about the girl. Elsewhere, Lex prepares for his wedding by meeting with an event coordinator; and Jonathan begins building a crib in anticipation of the new baby's arrival."
