  • Another great birthday in this month! Sam Jones III is 20 today. He is the youngest cast member in Smallville, and while he may not be old enough to drink yet, he is definitely old enough to make our hearts beat just a little faster everytime we see him on our screens! Congratulations Sam on your 20th birthday, and also, congrats on a great episode of The Practice a couple of weeks ago...

  • Happy birthday to Tom Welling (Clark Kent), he is turning 26, and looking yummier by the day!! Have a great birthday Tom and please entertain us and make us drool for many more years to come!!
  • Talking about Tom, I'm sure you've all seen the "Witness" clip that has lead us all to believe that we will be seeing Clark naked... well, unfortunately, we now know that it is NOT Tom Welling's butt that we will be seeing, but a body double's!! aaaaawwwww.... Thanks to Devoted to Smallville for the info!
  • Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) will be attending the Starfest 2003 Convention in Denver, CO this weekend. Read his interview in the Denver Post.

  • Here is The WB's official description of next week's Smallville episode "Witness":
    "Clark (Tom Welling) stumbles upon a robbery of a LuthorCorp truck carrying kryptonite and is stunned to realize he can' stop the thieves because they are as strong as he is. To keep Clark from going to the police, the thugs attack Jonathan (John Schneider) and Martha (Annette O'Toole), leaving Clark feeling powerless and desperate for a way to protect his parents."
  • "Witness" will guest star Zachery Ty Bryan (who was one of the "Home Improvement" kids along with Jonathan Taylor Thomas, guest star of the "Dichotic" episode).

  • The WB's press release includes what we can expect to see in the remaining episodes of Smallville's season 2: "The action heats up on SMALLVILLE on April 29 when, for the first time in his life, Clark fights adversaries who posses a strength equal to his own. On May 6, Lana's life is threatened by a terrifying ghost from her childhood and, in a stunning two-part season finale airing on May 13 and May 20, Clark must decide whether his love for Lana and his family will come before his destiny to rule the Earth."

  • Here is The WB's official description of next week's Smallville episode "Precipice": "After Lana (Kristin Kreuk) is almost assaulted by a college student (guest star), Clark (Tom Welling) loses control and injures the boy. When the Kents (John Schneider, Annette O'Toole) are sued for punitive damages that could cost them the farm, Clark begins to question his powers while trying to find a way out of the lawsuit. Meanwhile, Helen's (Emmanuelle Vaugier) ex-boyfriend arrives in town intent on winning her back, but when she turns him down, he stabs her, prompting Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) to take the law into his own hands. Allison Mack, Sam Jones III and John Glover also star. Thomas J. Wright directed the episode written by Clint Carpenter." This will be Camille Mitchell's first appearance as the new sheriff in town, Sheriff Nancy Adams.

  • Here's the Smallville viewing schedule news from around the world: Season 1 is beginning is Japan every Sunday at 6pm on NHK. Last Tuesday in the Philippines, Smallville's first season finale aired, and the following weeks, fans got to see the second season's premiere (channel Studio 23). In Australia, fans will get to finally begin season two Saturday April 5, 2003 and will air every Saturday at 7.30pm on Channel 9.   • Happy Birthday to Annette O'Toole (Martha Kent)! She is 49 today and doesn't look a day older than 30!!
  • John Schneider (Jonathan Kent) can be seen on North American TV sets in a commercial for a weed-killing product for lawns called Ortho Weed-B-Gone.

  • Tom Welling's (Clark Kent) new movie (see news March 10) will also star Piper Perabo will be another one of Tim's sisters. The movie release date is Christmas Day 2003.

  • Remember the popular comedy series Home Improvement? The story of a family with three boys. Well, the two eldest sons where played by Zachery Ty Bryan and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. We saw Jonathan guest star in the episode "Dichotic". Now, look out for Zachery, he will guest star in the upcoming episode "Witness".
  • Also, thanks to Sam Jones III (Pete Ross), we have learnt that a special partnership will be developing between two main characters. For details, read Sam's interview with BlackVoices.com.

  • The April issue of SFX Magazine features an interview with Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), in which she reveals that she recently got engaged to her boyfriend Peter. Congratulations to Allison and Peter!!

  • Starting in April 2003, the WB will be teaming up with Elektra Records for a 10-city campus tour, which will include live concerts and appearances. So far, we know that Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) is on board, along with starts from other WB shows. Bands include Socialburn and The Format. The first location has been announced as Kent State University, Kent, OH, on April 17, 2003, between 3pm and 7pm. Admissions is free. Check out details of the tour here.

March 24-26, 2003

  • Joseph Adalian, Television Editor for Variety.com, reports that The WB has renewed Smallville for 2003-2004, it's third season. In another article, Mr. Adalian reports that Smallville producers Al Gough and Miles Millar are guaranteed to remain the showrunners for the series for its critical fourth season as well, after signing a 2-year 7-digit contract with The WB network. This will ensure creative consistency, as well as guaranteeing it's syndication.

  • Look out! There's a new sheriff in town! As we know, Smallville's long-time sheriff, Sheriff Ethan was killed in the episode "Suspect". Well, there's a new sheriff now, and her name is Sheriff Nancy Adams. The role will be played by Camille Mitchell. KryptonSite has an exclusive interview with the actress. Read it here. Sheriff Nancy Adams will first appear in the new upcoming episode "Precipice".

  • Thanks to the Superman Homepage and to Smallville fans Sinha Heendeniya and Doug Chambers, we are able to bring you the exact translation of the writing on Clark's spaceship, as seen on the latest episode "Rosetta". You will notice that the wording is slightly different from the way Clark Kent read it in "Rosetta". Also, notice the inside joke at the end of the message "Made in Taiwan".   • The most beautiful woman in history? Why, Helen of Troy of course. She is part of Greek mythology and the face that launched a thousand ships, she is the woman over whom the famous ten-year war was fought. And now they're making a movie about her.
    So whom do you cast as the woman of all ages? So far, Smallville's very own Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) is a strong contender, along with Claire Forlani ("Meet Joe Black"). We also know that Brad Pitt ("Ocean's Eleven") will play Achilles, Sean Bean ("The Lord of the Rings") will be Odysseus and the role of the Trojan king Priam went to Peter O'Toole ("Lawrence of Arabia", 2003 Honorary Oscar).   • According to the Hollywood Reporter, Tom Welling will be starring in his first movie role named "cheaper by the Dozen". His role will be that of the eldest son of a large family, with parents Steve Martin ("Bringing Down the House") and Bonnie Hunt ("The Bonnie Hunt Show"), and sister Hilary Duff ("Lizzie McGuire", "Agent Cody Banks"). The movie will be directed by Shawn Levy and produced by 20th-Century Fox. Shooting will begin March 31.

  • The Annual SFX: The Event, will be held in London, England on May 17 and May 18, 2003. Special guests include Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) and John Shea (Lex Luthor - Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman).

  • Set your VCRs! March 16, 2003 at 9pm, on The WB of course! The WB will be airing "The WB's Outrageous Outtakes", which includes outtakes from the filming of Smallville.
  • Today's the opening of "Bringing Down the House" starring Steve Martin and Queen Latifah and... yes, you guessed it! Michael Rosenbaum (with hair, much to my dismay!)

  • The new Smallville soundtrack is selling strong! Yahoo News reports that the CD was a new entry at number 31 of the Top 50 and sold 33,000 copies. Apparently, no other soundtrack has sold as many copies in its first week since "Sopranos 2" in May 2001.

  • There was an article on Eric Johnson (Whitney Fordman) in the Edmonton Sun dated February 27, 2003. His latest project is the horror movie "Ginger Snaps". Johnson also talks about his character's death in Smallville, as a high school student who joined the Marines and compares it to a scene in the movie "Saving Private Ryan".

  • Opening today is "Shanghai Knights", a follow-up to "Shanghai Noon", starring Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan. The movie is written by the Smallville executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar.
  • E! Entertainment has compiled its list of "Young Hollywood: Players Or Played Out?" Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) made the list as No.15 Hottest Young Hollywood Artist.

  • The dates for the Crashdown Conventions has been announced: May 3, 2003 in London, England.
    There will be a Smallville and Roswell convention. Special guests include Allison Mack (Chloe Sullivan), Eric Johnson (Whitney Fordman) and David Nutter, who directed the Smallville pilot.
