  • DOUBLE-D’OH! THE GRIFFINS MEET THE SIMPSONS IN AN EPIC “FAMILY GUY” EPISODE AIRING NEXT FALL ON FOX
Guest Voices from THE SIMPSONS include Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith and Hank Azaria
Episode Set to Air Fall 2014
In a sure-to-be-classic episode of FAMILY GUY, two of the most iconic and revered families on television will come together when the Griffins end up in Springfield and meet the Simpsons. The FAMILY GUY episode will air in Fall 2014 on FOX.
“FOX hasn’t spent this much money since they took Simon Cowell tight T-shirt shopping,” said FAMILY GUY’s Peter Griffin.
“Finally I can get my hands on this guy!,” added Homer Simpson.
In “The Simpsons Guy” episode of FAMILY GUY, Peter (Seth MacFarlane) and the Griffins get out of dodge and end up in Springfield, where they are greeted by a friendly stranger named Homer Simpson (guest voice Dan Castellaneta), who welcomes his new “albino” friends with open arms. The families get along famously: Stewie (MacFarlane) becomes obsessed with Bart (guest voice Nancy Cartwright) and his old-fashioned pranks; Lisa (guest voice Yeardley Smith) takes Meg (Mila Kunis) under her wing and is determined to find something – anything – at which she excels; Marge (guest voice Julie Kavner) and Lois (Alex Borstein) ditch housework for a little bonding; and Peter and Homer fight over the best beer in town – Pawtucket vs Duff.
Entering its 11th season, FAMILY GUY continues to entertain fans with its shocking humor, memorable cutaway gags, dazzling musical numbers and epic episodes. Since its debut, the series has reached cult status among fans, and its breakout star, a talking baby, has become one of the greatest TV characters of all time. FAMILY GUY has racked up numerous awards, including an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, only the second animated series in television history to be honored with such a distinction.
FAMILY GUY follows the adventures of an endearingly ignorant dad, PETER GRIFFIN (MacFarlane), and his hilariously odd family of middle-class New Englanders in Quahog, RI. LOIS (Borstein) is Peter’s wife, a stay-at-home mom with no patience for her family’s antics. Then there are their kids: 18-year-old MEG (Kunis) is an outcast at school and the Griffin family punching bag; 13-year-old CHRIS (Seth Green) is a socially awkward teen who doesn’t have a clue about the opposite sex; and one-year-old STEWIE (MacFarlane) is a diabolically clever baby whose burgeoning sexuality is very much a work in progress. Rounding out the Griffin household is BRIAN (MacFarlane), the family dog and a ladies man who is one step away from AA.
FAMILY GUY is a 20th Century Fox Television production. Seth MacFarlane is creator/executive producer. Rich Appel and Steve Callaghan serve as executive producers/showrunners, while Mark Hentemann, Danny Smith and Kara Vallow are executive producers. “Like” FAMILY GUY on Facebook at www.facebook.com/FamilyGuy. • SETH MACFARLANE TO LAUNCH “COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY” IN 2013 ON FOX
New 13-Part Docu-Series Pays Homage to Carl Sagan’s Award-Winning Scientific Masterpiece
National Geographic Channel to Air Same-Night Encores
More than three decades after the debut of “Cosmos,” Carl Sagan’s stunning and iconic exploration of the universe as revealed by science, FOX sets off on a voyage for the stars with COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY. Seth MacFarlane (FAMILY GUY, AMERICAN DAD) has teamed up with Sagan’s original creative collaborators – writer/producer Ann Druyan and astrophysicist Steven Soter – to conceive a 13-part “docu-series” that will serve as a successor to the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning original series.
Hosted by renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY will blast off on the FOX schedule in 2013.
“Never more than at this moment in the modern era have we needed a profound reminder of the colossally important and exciting role that science, space exploration and the human quest for knowledge must continue to play in our development as a species,” said MacFarlane. “We should be vigorously exploring the solar system by now, and who better to inspire us to get there than Ann Druyan, Steven Soter, Neil deGrasse Tyson and, of course, Carl Sagan.”
“Carl believed that science belongs to all of us,” said Druyan, Sagan’s widow. “He wanted to convey the thrill of its cosmic perspective to the widest possible audience. I wish I could tell Carl what Seth’s leadership on this new COSMOS has made possible. Besides, I know how much they would have liked each other.”
“This is a golden opportunity to introduce COSMOS to a new generation,” said Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “While admittedly on the periphery of our brand, we believe this can have the same massive cultural impact that the original series delivered, and we’re going to use all of our resources – on-air and company-wide – to help bring that to fruition.”
Produced in conjunction with National Geographic Channel, COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY is the story of how human beings began to comprehend the laws of nature and find our place in space and time. By exploring never-before-told stories of the heroic quest for knowledge, the series will take viewers to other worlds and travel across the universe for a vision of the cosmos on the grandest scale. The most profound scientific concepts will be presented with stunning clarity, uniting skepticism and wonder, and weaving rigorous science with the emotional and spiritual into a transcendent experience. National Geographic Channel will air a same-night encore of the episodes following their broadcast on FOX.
Carl Sagan’s original series “Cosmos” was first broadcast in 1980 and remains the most globally successful American public television series of all time. Seen by an estimated 700 million viewers, “Cosmos” has remained popular in all media throughout the world.
COSMOS: A SPACE-TIME ODYSSEY will be produced by Cosmos Studios, the Ithaca, NY, based company Druyan co-founded in 2000. Ann Druyan, Seth MacFarlane and Cosmos Studios president Mitchell Cannold will executive-produce the series. Allan Butler will serve as executive producer for National Geographic Channel.

  • FOX GREENS IT AND MEANS IT DURING EARTH WEEK
Go green with FOX this Earth Week! As part of Fox Broadcasting Company’s ongoing “Green It. Mean It.” campaign, an initiative designed to raise both viewer and employee awareness of environmental issues, FOX talent, shows and employees are stepping up their efforts to help preserve our planet. In addition to the numerous eco-friendly activities that the network and its sister companies support year-round, FOX’s Earth Week plans this year include:
    · FOX Talent “Green Tips”: During Earth Week, FOX talent, including Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Beals, Chris Colfer, Martha Plimpton, Christian Slater and Joshua Jackson, will appear in network and affiliate on-air promos offering viewers helpful “Green Tips” on how to establish a more sustainable lifestyle. Tune in throughout the week to HOUSE, GLEE, RAISING HOPE, AMERICAN IDOL, BONES, FRINGE and other series to learn more about environmental issues and what you can do to help. In addition, these “Green It. Mean It.” talent tips were provided to more than 2,000 radio stations for use in all day-parts throughout the month of April.
    · www.fox.com/greenitmeanit : To better support the network’s greening efforts, FOX has revamped and re-launched http://www.fox.com/greenitmeanit, the network’s dedicated “Green It. Mean It.” website. The site hosts videos, photos and information to help viewers track the network’s achievements and learn how they, too, can make a difference. Additionally, in an effort to promote environmental awareness and energy efficiency, www.americanidol.com  will turn its homepage black for Earth Day on Friday, April 22. The AMERICAN IDOL finalists also share their green tips exclusively at http://www.americanidol.com/
    · Local Grocery Tote Giveaway: On Wednesday, April 20, FOX employees will take shifts distributing free reusable “Green It. Mean It” grocery tote bags outside of Ralphs supermarket at 10309 West Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles to encourage shoppers to avoid using paper or plastic when carrying their groceries.
    · Habitat For Humanity Build: FOX is a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. On Thursday, April 21 in Long Beach, CA, FOX employees will join the organization in constructing affordable housing for a family in need, using recycled and sustainable materials.
FOX Talent “Green Tips” are available at http://www.fox.com/earthday  for viewing and sharing across social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Examples include:
From FRINGE Fridays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT):
    * Joshua Jackson – “More than 1 trillion gallons of untreated sewage, storm water and industrial waste end up in U.S. waters ever year. Take a stand and ask your local government to enforce environmental protection laws.”
FOX’s Earth Week initiatives are only a small part of FOX’s ongoing “Green It. Mean It.” campaign. For the past six years, FOX has hosted the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party, a benefit for various eco-friendly charities, including The Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, Global Green USA, among others. Last year, FOX donated two solar panels, previously used on the AMERICAN IDOL finale red carpet, to schools in Los Angeles and New York. This spring, FOX will donate the solar panel from its most recent Emmy Awards red carpet to an additional school. In addition, the Environmental Media Award-winning TEEN CHOICE AWARDS annually implements numerous “green” initiatives, including the use of solar and natural gas power, a Woolly Pocket vertical garden as a step-and-repeat and, in a red carpet first, cyclists generating power to cool talent and the media.
From FAMILY GUY Sundays (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT):
    * Seth MacFarlane as Peter Griffin – “A cleaner planet needs the brightest of minds. Put your gifts to use by encouraging legislators, utility companies, schools and employers (six of those words I don’t know) to support green initiatives. Doing so will help curb pollution, create new jobs and change our future.”

BURBANK, Calif. - August 5, 2010 - Seth MacFarlane, creator of the hit animated series "Family Guy," stopped by NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (Monday-Friday, 11:35 p.m. ET) on Thursday, August 5 to announce his latest project.
