Babylon 5 was one of the greatest science fiction TV shows ever, due mostly to its creator and primary writer, J. Michael Straczynski, AKA JMS. It ran in syndication from 1994-1998 and was fairly successful.  Since JMS wrote most of the episodes and was in charge of the show, the storylines were consistent.  The ensemble show was exciting and well-written.
