Angel Episode Guide

Season Five; Episode Three: "Unleashed" By Cathy

(This is a short recap; we hope to have a longer, more detailed summary later)

Aired October 15, 2003

The gang are in a park discussing what the Wolfram & Hart partners are up to and whom exactly they can trust. They are even questioning each other considering what they have been through. They have gained a lot as well as lost.

Borrowing Wesley’s new sterling silver pen (engraved with his name) Angel races off to save a damsels in distress. While jogging the women is attacked and bitten by a werewolf. Angel kills the beast with the pen. The woman takes off in her car. The gang now have to find her.

Spike needs help he’s getting worse. His disappearances are lasting longer; something is trying to hold him on the other side. Fred said he’d have to wait until they find the bitten women.

A Dr. Royce examines the werewolf/man body to help them understand what they will be dealing with when they find the women. The werewolf is different K-9’s are longer and stands up right.

The woman awakes in her room. She doesn’t remember the attack but knows something is different. Her senses are heightened, her neck is purple, and she smells blood and has a vision of attacking her young niece.

The gang are frantic trying to find her. After a sighting and vehicle match they find her address and name, Nina Ash.

Back at home Nina is babysitting her niece but feels strange and goes to her room to lie down. She turns into a werewolf. As her niece calls from the other side of the door Angel appears and they fall out the window. Wesley fires a tranquilizer into her.

Nina awakes naked in a holding cell. Angel comes to her and helps her remember and explain what had happen and shows her a videotape of her transformation. He knows how she feels being a monster himself. She can control the monster inside her with his
help. He can’t cure her but he can keep her safe.

Dr. Royce tells Angel and Fred that having something familiar might sooth Nina and makes things easier when she transforms again into a werewolf. Fred with security takes Nina home to get a few things. Nina questions with interest Angel’s love life and Fred explains that he really doesn’t have one.

The women are attacked and though Fred puts up a good fight, the masked men take Nina away. She is chained up, stripped and washed down.

Dr. Royce gets read by Lorne and sings “Jessie’s Girl” by Rick Springfield.

Angel is weighed down with Nina’s werewolf problem and her kidnapping, not to mention Spikes return.

Fred follows Spike through the office (walls) and discovers a vile in Dr. Royce’s office. She knocks him out. The vile was a mystical drug that hid his reading. He is working for the person who had Nina kidnapped.

Nina is being held at a Mr. Krane’s who is holding a high price plate dinner with werewolf for the main course. Angel, Gunn and Wesley come to save her. Again Wesley shoots her with a tranquilizer but it doesn’t work the first time and she bites Dr. Royce who will be on next month’s dinner menu.

Spike appears in Fred’s office, barely. He didn’t think he was coming back. He’s scared and desperate and Fred will do anything to help him.

Angel returns Nina to her home. She asks him how he lives with the knowledge that he’s killed people. He tells her that one day she will realize that now it is a part of her reality, also if you run away from the ones you love then the monster wins. She tells him she will see him next month.

The gang spend an evening of Chinese food and Cosmo’s at Angel’s new pad. Is there a chance for Angel with the new werewolf girl? Well she did give him ‘a look.’
