Angel Episode Guide

Season Four; Episode Twenty-One: "Peace Out" By Cathy

(This is a short recap; we hope to have a longer, more detailed summary later)

Aired April 30, 2003

Angel is in the insect creatures' dimension where Jasmine once reigned.† Wesley, Gunn, Fred, and Lorne defend themselves against Connor and his army but are captured and taken to Jasmine. ††††

Angel climbs a mountain to reach a high priest in a temple who is the guardian of the keeper (whose mouth is nailed shut).  The keeper knows Jasmine's true name (which, when spoken, will ruin her).† The high priest still worships her and will not give up her name, knowing his world will lose everything.† Angel fights the keeper. ††††

While in the hotel's basement cage, the gang find out that Jasmine devours humans and that Connor knows her true self.† Connor is guarding them at Jasmine's request.  He tells them that everyone has lied to him and Jasmine is no different, only that she has stopped the fighting, which he so desperately desired.  He was raised in the Hell dimension so he is not disgusted by her appearance as they are.† They also wonder about Cordelia, which sends Connor on a mission to find her, even though Jasmine was against it and doesnít know what heís doing.   Jasmine is busy feeding on people, renewing her strength, so she is not able to track Connor like usual.††††

Angel materializes back at the hotel in a ball of lightning and with a decapitated keeper's head in his hand.† As Angel slices open his mouth, the creature shrieks Jasmineís real name.  Her real form appears to all of her worshippers, who go screaming from the hotel.† L.A. is in total chaos and despair again. ††††

Jasmine is pissed.  She and Angel have a verbal argument about what they believe is true good and true evil.† Jasmine compares herself to Angel (in his Angelus days.)† As they fight, she points out that the few thousand people she would have eaten was worth the millions of lives that she would have saved and brought peace and happiness to.  Angel says that people have to have free will.  She shows her strength when she throws Angel over a bridge and onto a car, then she lands safely.† Connor appears, so Jasmine starts to talk to him, thinking he's on her side.  He punches through the back of her head, all the way through it, killing her.  Connor then walks away, ignoring his fatherís plea to come back,† †Angel is left feeling helpless.†† ††††

Gunnís relentless kicking of the cage door finally opens it and the gang escapes.† After finding an empty hotel and dead airwaves, they are greeted by someone, which shocks them.  Angel returns, telling them that Jasmine is dead and he's worried about Connor.  They show him Lilah, who is looking very much alive.
