DVD Reviews
This is a very good series. Not only is each
episode great, but they're tied together in a way you won't
expect by the finale episode. There have been 2 other
versions (in 1982 and 2002, respectively) since the original
"Twilight Zone," which ran from 1959-1964, and I've enjoyed
them all (the 1983 movie, not so much). The same is true of
the old show "The Outer Limits," (which was similar to
"Twilight Zone," but was more science fiction and fantasy)
and its revival in 1995 that ran for 7 years. I also enjoyed
the other Rod Serling show, "Night Gallery," but it was a
lot scarier when I watched it as a young girl. These
anthology series really set the bar for all of the ones to
come, and few have met their gold standard. This new
Twilight Zone series definitely makes the grade.
Jordan Peele is one of the executive producers of the show
as well as the host/narrator. The show is so good that it
was revived halfway through the first season. I know that
all of us fans can't wait until the second season. One of
the great things about anthology shows is the wonderful
guest stars. In the old Twilight Zone series, you had
everyone from Robert Redford to Jack Klugman guest-starring.
The new series has Seth Rogan, Tracy Morgan, Greg Kinnear,
John Cho and more. The acting is very good, of course.
It's great to have this set on DVD, even though I
watched them streaming on CBS All Access originally. I enjoy
collecting DVD sets. It's a very slim box and will fit into
any collection. It has many great features (over two hours'
worth).
This would make a great gift for any teen or
adult. It's just a very good, compelling drama with many
interesting stories and a fantastic final episode that will
surprise you.

Originally airing from 1959 to 1964, "The Twilight Zone"
became a worldwide phenomenon as it used socially conscious
storytelling to explore the human condition and culture of
the times. The godfather of sci-fi series, the show explored
humanity's hopes, despairs, prides and prejudices in
metaphoric ways that conventional dramas could not.
Today, the twilight zone serves as a modern reimagining of
the class anthology series, bringing the original show's
legacy of socially conscious storytelling to contemporary
audiences, while again exploring the human condition and
holding a lens up to the culture of our times.
Additional cast members include Seth Rogen (This Is the
End), Tracy Morgan ("30 Rock"), Chris O'Dowd (Get Shorty),
Adam Scott ("Big Little Lies"), John Cho (Star Trek), Ginner
Goodwin ("Once Upon a Time"), Zazie Beetz (Joker), Greg
Kinnear (As Good As It Gets), Sanaa Lathan ("The
Affair"), Kumail Nanjiani (The Big Sick) Jason Priestly
("Beverly Hills, 90210") and Steven Yeun ("The Walking
Dead").
The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in
association with Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and
Simon Kinberg’s Genre Films. Peele and Kinberg serve as
executive producers along with Glen Morgan, Win Rosenfeld,
Carol Serling, Rick Berg, Greg Yaitanes and Audrey Chon for
season one.

10 episodes. The Blu-ray will arrive in a five-disc
