Ricky Gervais: Out of England - The Stand-Up Special

by Suzanne 4/1/09

I've always liked Ricky Gervais. I first saw him when he guest-starred on an episode of "Alias". He is a phenomenal actor, as well as being hilarious. He is most famous for writing and starring in the original British sitcom "The Office" and the HBO series, "Extras". I love British comedy, anyway, but I can't imagine anyone not liking his humor.

In this special, no subject is too taboo for him to make fun of, including cancer, AIDS, autism, and obesity. He is just so funny that I was weeping helplessly with laughter not too long after it started. I cannot recommend it enough to any adult who appreciates good humor. If you are a prude or don't find jokes funny if they are about such subjects, you should avoid it. Anyone else will love it. He's just brilliant.

The DVD is excellent quality and comes with a short feature of him talking about the making of the show. It is funny, too, although not as funny as the actual stand up comedy special. He did a tour here in the US, so the DVD has the best of the different tours.

Buy this DVD now and you will laugh your head off!
