Primetime Show Reviews

The New Adventures of Superman - (DC Comics Classic Collection) (1966)

The New Adventures of Superman Classic DVD cover

This is an animated Superman kids' show from the 1960's.  The art was very good, but compared today's shows, or even ones from the 70's and 80's, it is pretty boring. Very young children may like it, but I don't think older ones would find it very interesting.

I am a die-hard Superman fan, so I am glad to own it, but I probably won't be watching the entire series unless I am having some insomnia!

The series has one feature, which is a really good one. Mark Hamil and some other comic fans talk about Superman and how well this series reflected the comics at the time, how it came about, etc. It's a very interesting special.
