This is a very good show, and
I reviewed the first few
episodes, but I confess that I did fall behind in
watching it last season. There are just so many hours in the
day to watch my favorite TV shows! I liked this one a
lot, but it's not at the top of my list. For one thing, even
though it's written by the same guy who wrote "Veronica
Mars," it's not as good as that show. I think it's because
it's just not as fun and clever. Also, I really liked the
actors in VM but not as much as in this show. I do love
David Anders, of course, but he's not the star of the show,
and he's playing a pretty awful guy.
Also, I'm not a big fan of zombies. Even
though this is not too terribly gross, it's still enough to
creep me out. I avoid all other zombie shows. This is more
of a comedy, and a kind of chick-romance show, but still -
she's a zombie! I feel bad for her, but I don't like the
brain eating. Even though she only eats the brains of
recently dead folks, and she's not killing them herself.
It's worth watching, though, even with the zombie stuff.
I know this show has lots of fans, and so if
you don't have my weird zombie phobia, you will probably
enjoy the show. It's fun and enjoyable otherwise.
The DVD only has a few extras on it, which
is disappointing. I would have liked to have seen more
behind-the-scenes features. It just has a gag reel and the
2014 Comic-Con panel.

fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a
zombie. Now stuck between half-alive and undead, Liv
transfers to the city morgue to reluctantly access the
only thing that allows her to maintain her humanity —
human brains. But there are side effects to Liv’s new
diet. With each brain she consumes, she experiences
flashes of the corpse’s memories — including, at times,
clues as to how they were killed. Her boss, a brilliant
but eccentric conspiracy theorist, encourages her to
embrace this gift and to work with an unproven homicide
detective to help solve these murders … and quiet the
voices in her head.
