Isle of Dogs DVD cover

  Isle of Dogs

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 7/15/18

I'm a dog lover, so I enjoyed watching this movie. I have to admit that I'm not a huge fan of Wes Anderson movies, but I think this is his best. I liked it way better than others of his I've seen. The story kept me interested and the animated dogs were cute. I really enjoyed it. It's not exactly a Disney movie, though, because the beginning is sad and depressing. I think older kids and adults should love it. There are many great actors voicing the characters, like Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Bill Murry, Jeff Goldblum, Scarlett Johanssen and more.

The animation is really good. You forget you're watching animation after awhile. It's more like a real live action movie. The story is very heart-warming, in the end.  The DVD has plenty of cool features that I also enjoyed. Any fan of animation or Wes Anderson should enjoy this DVD. It's even better than "Fantastic Mr. Fox," which I saw in the theaters. Go buy or rent it now!
