The Good Wife: The Final Season

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 9/19/16

This is one of my favorite shows, so I hated seeing it end. They did get quite a lot out of their 7 years, though. They had a huge ensemble cast and many fantastic guest stars of every type. With such a good show, they were able to get their pick of the best actors.

There are few shows on TV any more that deal with legal issues in a liberal way, let along from a female perspective, which is what I enjoyed most about this show. After that aspect, it's also a really good drama and soap opera. The stories and acting were just fantastic. I think a lot of people worried that the show would go downhill after they killed off Will, but IMHO they did fine without him. I really loved the addition of Jason this season.

I think many fans objected to the series finale and how it ended; anyone who watched the show regularly should have realized that they weren't going to have a neat, cut-and-dried ending, nor would it be too happy or predictable. I feel they did the best job they could have; it's a show about life, and life continues. It doesn't just end with a happy ending, especially after all of the drama of the past 7 years.

I loved watching all of the good featuers. I was surprised that the actress who played Lucca is British! I had no idea. She does a great job of hiding that accent on the show.

The DVD does a good job of wrapping up the show, with many good features about the show and saying goodbye to all of the wonderful characters and actors. They have a feature about the music of the show, which was always so prominent. There are all of the usual type of features as well. They use the "Gag Reel" as an opportunity to not only show all of the jokes and mistakes, but they also show all of the great guest stars. This is an excellent DVD. I recommend buying all 6 seasons, especially if you've never watched it. You won't be sorry. This would make a good gift for anyone.
