CSI: The Finale DVD cover

CSI: The Finale

 Review by Suzanne Lanoue 12/10/15

This used to be one of my favorite shows. I stopped watching it the last two seasons because I just had too many shows to watch and keep up with. The first few seasons with Gil Grissom (William Peterson) were the best, but the show was very good even after he left.

I enjoyed the two hour season finale. I didn't really need to watch the missing episodes to catch up. It was great to see Gil and Catherine back, as well as Lady Heather. I was sad to see that Nick Stokes (George Eads) was gone. The two hours moves along nicely and has lots of great drama as well as interplay between the characters.

I just don't know why they had to put it on its own DVD rather than adding it to the season 15 DVD. It seems like a waste of money to buy or sell it separately. I guess if you really collect the series, though, you'll want to buy this DVD. Or you could just wait until they come out with the entire series set.

It does have some good features for such a short DVD. There are deleted scenes, creator Anthony E. Zuiker commentary, a feature "Case Closed" and another great one where the cast says goodbye. I'm still sad the show is gone, but this helps a lot.

Any fan of CSI will love the finale, though. Check it out!

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation -
The Finale

Release Date: December 15, 2015

The worldwide television phenomenon solves its final case as the blockbuster conclusion, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation – The Finale, arrives on DVD this December. Just in time for the holidays, this special collection includes the two-part episode “Immortality,” which drew 15.8 million total viewers when it originally aired, alongside exclusive must-see featurettes.

When multiple bombs incite terror in Las Vegas, the shockwaves reach far and wide. Former CSI head Gil Grissom (William Petersen) responds to the call of duty while FBI Agent Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) rushes back to her old hunting grounds. In his final Vegas case, lead investigator D.B. Russell (Emmy® winner Ted Danson) helps unravel the fiendish web of evidence. The case turns personal as seasoned pro Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) navigates her history with Grissom. Then the team itself becomes a target, forcing the elite experts of CSI (Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, Elisabeth Harnois, David Berman and Jon Wellner) to outrace an explosive threat to Sin City. Only Grissom’s femme fatale Lady Heather (Melinda Clarke) holds the deadly key to the secrets in this epic finale that changes everything.

A must-own for every fan of the hugely popular series, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation – The Finale also includes an exclusive, inside look at the making of the final episode, a last goodbye from the beloved cast of the long-running series, commentary, and deleted scenes.
