A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All

by Suzanne 11/31/08

This DVD came out just as the show did, which is exciting. It is a great Christmas special and will no doubt be a classic for years to come. It is a great satire of all those Christmas specials you grew up watching, like Perry Como, Bing Crosby, et al. It has many musical guests. The songs are hilarious, and all Christmas-theme. Current artists like Feist and John Legend appear, as well as classic artists like Willie Nelson and Elvis Costello. It is very fun as well as funny.

The DVD has some smart extras as well, including some alternate endings, an interactive video advent calendar, another song, and a book burning yule log. They are really funny and worth watching. The cover is cute; it makes the guests of the show look like Peanuts cartoon characters.

If you love Stephen Colbert, or just good satire, you'll enjoy this DVD! It's good any time of the year, not just Christmas.
