I have a hard time keeping up with all of
the supernatural, science fiction, fantasy and comic book
shows. There are just so many of them. I'm glad to be able
to get the DVD's so I can at least try to catch up some.
I enjoy this show, and I've even read some
of the books. Frankly, I think the show is better than
the books. One of the reasons is because the actors do such
a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. Stories
like these are very visual so it's hard to really convey as
well in a book.
If you like "Teen Wolf" or "Being Human" or
"Vampire Diaries" or "The Originals," then you should like
this one as well. It gives a slightly different spin on the
others because it's more from a women's point of view, and I
think, as far as supernatural stories go, it's more
realistic than the others.
In this second season, they bring in witches
to further complicate things for Elena and her family.
They did this in "The Vampire Diaries" as well, but I think
it works better here.
If you like good, solid supernatural TV,
then you should enjoy "Bitten." Make sure you watch
the first season first or you might not really know what's
going on or care as much about the characters.
The DVD set has all of the usual good
features that today's TV show DVD's usually have. It's
definitely worth owning.
