DVD Reviews
I wasn't sure at first if I liked this show.
I thought it would be funnier. However, I think every season
it gets a little funnier. Another thing I like about Archer
is how it combines lots of fun action along with the humor
and word play. It not only satirizes spy and action
programs; it really is a good one.
The season starts out fun as usual and then
takes a bit of a dark turn when first Archer's mother, and
then Archer himself, finds out that he has breast cancer.
They manage to keep things funnier despite such horrible
subject matter. At the end, it leads nicely into the next
season as Archer meets his future wife Katya, a Russian
double agent.
There are some great extras as well on the
disk. "Archersaurus-Self Extinction" is a kind of satire of
E! Hollywood True Story and shows like that - about Archer
if he were a dinosaur. "Ask Archer" has Archer answering
questions from fans (the last one and how he reacts to it is
very interesting!). "Semper Fi" has Archer reading a
special greeting for a soldier. "L'Espion Mal Fait" is
a dream Archer has about having an accident, then getting
plastic surgery, where he ends up short, ugly, and with a
beard (and suspiciously like the actor who voices him). They
saved the best for last. "ISIS Infiltrates Comic-Con"
shows the creator and actors chatting and answering
questions about the show. It is very fun.

Sterling Archer, the
world’s most dangerous spy, and his snarky ISIS cohorts are

Entertainment.

top-secret animated shorts, ARCHER The Complete Second

paternity suits. Archer searches for the true identity of
his father, battles breast cancer, and brings a sexy, ex-KGB
agent home to meet his domineering mother. It’s all in a
day’s work for the international man of mystery in this
uproariously edgy animated farce.
ARCHER features the voice
talents of H. Jon Benjamin (“Bob’s Burgers,” “Family Guy”),
Jessica Walter (“Arrested Development”), Aisha Tyler (“24,”
