Dolly Parton's Heart Strings

Review of "Dolly Parton's Heartstrings" 12/11/19 by Eva Diaz
airs now on Netflix

I am a traditional country music fan and have always been a fan of Dolly Parton because she tells stories with her songs and acts in them. These stories on "Heartstrings" are fun to watch and very well done. They seem like little movies. In one episode, "Jolene" (played by Julianne Hough) is a woman who gains a bad reputation in her small town because she's sleeping with a married man. Jolene becomes friends with housewife Emily (Kimberly Williams Paisley "Darrow and Darrow"), who thinks that Jolene is having an affair with her husband. This causes a rift in their friendship. The stories are about faith, family and forgiveness, but I recomend that parents watch the episodes before they watch them with their children.  Some content may not be appropriate for young chidren.

Dolly has written many songs.  I think the show could continue for many seasons because of this.  Each episode is a stand-alone story, so you don't need to watch the episodes in order.  I give this show 5 out of 5 stars, and I think that it will give Dolly a lot of new fans.
