This comedy series is about a normal middle-class suburban
family, The Hammonds. Sheila suddenly turns into a zombie
overnight, which changes their lives. This is a very
droll sitcom with some chuckleworthy moments. The actors do
a great job and the script is fairly sharp.
problem is that I don't like zombies, and I don't like
grossness, generally. This show has lots of grossness, such
as massive vomiting, blood and gore. I really love
Timothy Olyphant, who stars as Joel Hammond, the beleagured
pot-smoking husband who has to put up with his zombie wife.
Drew Barrymore is great as the zombie wife, Sheila, who
transforms in many ways (a lot of them good, believe it or
not). It's a sort of female-empowerment tale, in a
way. Nathan Fillion guest-stars in the first episode
as a charming guy, Gary, who turns kind of creepy pretty
fast. It's great to see him again, and he looks even more
gorgeous than he did on "Castle!"
I watched most of
the first episode, but once she started chomping on people,
that was my limit. Sorry! Watch it if you don't mind gross
stuff or zombies. Otherwise, skip it. I wish them luck
because I do love the actors. Despite the gross stuff,
it's a light-hearted and fun zombie show with black humor.
In Santa Clarita Diet, Joel

sending their lives down a road of death and
destruction...but in a good way.
Santa Clarita Diet
stars Drew Barrymore as Sheila Hammond, Timothy Olyphant
as Joel Hammond, Liv Hewson as Abby Hammond and Skylar
Gisondo as Eric Bemis.
Fresco, Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Aaron Kaplan,
Tracy Katsky, Chris Miller and Ember Truesdell are
