The Durrells at Corfu

"The Durrells in Corfu" review by Suzanne 10/16/16
Airs Sundays, 8pm on PBS Masterpiece

Don't miss this one because it's just delightful.  Based on a trilogy by Geral Durrell, it's about a widow and her quirky family that moves from England to the small Greek island of Corfu in 1935. The acting is fine, the dialogue is spiffy, and I guarantee the characters will win you over, and the story will surprise you and have you chuckling.

I watched the first episode today and I look forward to seeing the rest. Believe me, this will be one of the best PBS shows you've ever watched. I want to go read the books now, after seeing just this one episode.

Louisa, played Keeley Hawes, is a widow with three sons and one daughter. She's having a hard time corralling her unruly family, so she sells the house and they move to this island, hoping to find peace and more family unity. It's about their adventures there and the Greeks they meet. This is British entertainment at its best.
