This is a very compelling show. It's a fairly realistic
(for TV) show about a young teen who has to go into recovery
after being caught with vodka at her school. It's based on a
teen novel. The heroine, Maddie (Jessica Sula) is being
raised by her mom (Sharon Leal) after her dad died. She
spends a lot of time partying and it gets her into trouble.
I know lots of people have had this problem, as teens, or
college students, or later. The show tells what people go
through when they have these addictions at a young age.
There are many interesting characters, between her friends
at high school and the other people in the recovery program.
There used to be a really gritty TV show about addiction
called "The Cleaner" starring Benjamin Bratt. It was hard to
watch because it was very realistic about addicts...it was
also too depressing to watch. This show is not nearly as
depressing as that one, it's more uplifting. People need
more hope, I think, that they can solve their problems.
My dad was an alcoholic who never got treatment, so I
really only know the worst part of these kind of addictions.
I know that there are many people who get help and really
turn their lives around. I have friends who went through AA
and other programs. I can't even imagine going through these

educational, especially to teens. You watch the
first three episodes on the official site! If you know
