Into the Badlands cast

"Into the Badlands" review by Suzanne 11/25/15
Airs Sundays 10/9c on AMC

This is a really good post-apocalyptic action drama. The creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, also created the smash hit "Smallville." This 6-part series is way more original. In the future, feudal barons rule various territories in "the badlands."  The barons have their own soldiers or hit men they call clippers. Clippers are well-trained assassins with martial arts skills. Sunny (Daniel Wu) is a clipper who works for the powerful baron Quinn.  Sunny finds a young man named M.K. (Aramis Knight) who has a strange, dark power inside him. At first, Sunny gets M.K. to become a future clipper for Quinn, but then he helps him escape.

There are many interesting characters, such as Quinn's wife and son, Sunny's girlfriend, and the other barons.  There are many fabulous martial arts fight scenes. The characters are good and make it worth watching beyond the action. It's a very cool show, like a good comic book come to life. Visually it reminds me of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" at its best.

Check it out. It's only 6 episodes!
