"Louie" review by Suzanne
Premieres May 5 on FX

This show is usually more interesting than it is funny. It has a few humorous moments here and there, but it's really more about life than it is about being funny. They prefer to show how humor comes out of real life. This is the trend nowadays in sitcoms and nobody does it better than Louie CK. I don't normally like this type of comedy, but the writing is very good, so it keeps you watching to see what bizarre thing is going to happen next.

In the first episode, "Back", Louie hurts his back. It has a great scene, probably the funniest of all of them, where Louie is playing poker with his fellow comedians. The second episode, "Model" has some great guest stars, like Jerry Seinfeld. Some weird things happen, but it has a satisfying ending.  "So Did the Fat Lady" is a cool episode and has a funny joke at the end.  "Elevator Party" has a strange beginning with Louie's kids and then doesn't really go much of anywhere, but it's very real. You definitely want to check them out.
