"Justified" review by Suzanne
Season 5 premieres January 7 10pm on FX

This is the best show on TV and I always love watching it. I'm so glad to see it back again.  Raylan, Boyd and the rest are great.  They sent me the first two episodes, which I thoroughly enjoyed!

As usual, there's lots of unexpected stuff, humor and violence.  In the first episode, Raylan goes to the Florida Everglades and we get to meet some of Dewey's Florida family.  The second episode has more Boyd in it, and Ava.  It's really hard to describe what's going on because there's so much and I don't want to spoil it for you!

Just take my word for it, it's worth watching just like every year. More great stuff we've come to know and love.

Based on Elmore Leonard’s novella Fire in the Hole, Justified was developed by Graham Yost and stars Timothy Olyphant as ‘Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens,’ a lawman who finds himself drawn back to his home state of Kentucky. This January, Raylan confronts the Crowes, a deadly, lawless family from Florida intent on settling in Harlan with new criminal enterprises in mind. Meanwhile, ‘Boyd Crowder’ (Walton Goggins) struggles to free his imprisoned fiancée ‘Ava’ (Joelle Carter) as he partners with the Dixie Mafia’s ‘Wynn Duffy’ (Jere Burns).

The series co-stars Walton Goggins as ‘Boyd Crowder;’ Nick Searcy as Givens’ longtime friend and boss ‘Chief Deputy Art Mullen;’ Jacob Pitts as ‘Deputy Marshal Tim Gutterson;’ Erica Tazel as ‘Deputy Marshal Rachel Brooks;’ Joelle Carter as ‘Ava Crowder;’ and Jere Burns as ‘Wynn Duffy.’ Yost wrote the pilot and serves as Executive Producer/Writer on the series. Executive Producers on the series include Carl Beverly, Sarah Timberman, Michael Dinner, Fred Golan, Dave Andron, Don Kurt, and the late Elmore Leonard, who passed away during the production of this season. Justified is produced by Sony Pictures Television and FX Productions.

UPDATE: The new episode of "Justified" that airs 2/4 is great. A surprising person from the past appears, and it's very funny. Alan Tudyk appears in a guest-starring role and he is a fantastic character (he'll just appear in this one episode) with a great ending. Rayland's boss, Mullen, has some excellent scenes and a very good day. Boyd does his usual nasty things and poor Ava - things don't go well for her. Johnny gets the upper hand for a change, but some other fellas don't. Danny Crowe does something very awful and unexpected. There's some very shocking things at the end and Raylan confesses something to Mullen.  You don't want to miss this one!!!

Episode 5 – “Shot All to Hell” (Airs February 4, 10:00 PM E/P) – Raylan's secrets are at stake when a mob revenge plot descends upon Kentucky, and Boyd's recent successes are tempered by a crushing defeat. Written by Chris Provenzano; directed by Adam Arkin.

UPDATE: The season finale of "Justified" is this week and it's really fantastic. Everything gets tied up really well and also prepares for the next season!

We see the last of the Crowe family, and that's all I can really say about that.

At least one person goes to jail. Another one (or more) dies. Boyd gets a new direction.

We get to see Winona, and Raylan has plans with her, But will he follow through?

Ava's predicament gets worse, and then better... and then, maybe worse? We don't know yet.

Art wakes up and will recover (that's not a spoiler).

There's a lot of great action and as usual, Raylan grabs his hat when troubles his way!

Don't miss it.

The season finale of the critically-acclaimed original drama series, JUSTIFIED airs Tuesday nights at 10:00 PM ET/PT only on FX. Please note that this video can go live immediately, but access will expire at the end of the season run.
“Restitution” Raylan has one last shot at taking down Art's would-be assassin, while cartel killers have Boyd's back against the wall.
