Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar

"The Crazy Ones" review by Suzanne
Airs Thursdays, 9/8c pm on CBS

I had really hoped to love this show because I'm such a huge fan of both Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar. I loved "Mork & Mindy" and most of Robin's movies. I loved SMG on "All My Children", "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and last year's "Ringer". However, all of those shows had great writing. This one doesn't, so it's very disappointing.

As much as I love it when Robin Williams riffs and goes all silly, you can't have a show with just that (and, he's no longer in his 20's, and not playing an alien, so it just makes him seem like a lunatic). Clearly his character is supposed to be a little "crazy", but that's not a good basis for comedy, either. Or at least, not here, because the show is just not funny.  Frankly, I found it unwatchable. I endured the whole episode, but it was not worth my time.

I would say, skip it, or hope it gets much better. It's too bad they couldn't find a better writing team for these two great actors.

We need more episode guide recap writers, article writers, MS FrontPage and Web Expression users, graphics designers, and more, so please email us if you can help out!  More volunteers always needed!  Thanks!
