"Legit" review by Suzanne
Thursdays at 10:30pm on FX
I find, personally, that FX's comedies are either really
bad, or very uneven (sometimes funny, sometimes not). I
don't like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia", or "The
League", at all , for example, but I do like "Wilfred" and
Louie". This is uneven, at least so far. When I first
started watching the first episode they sent me, I thought
it was stupid. However, as I kept watching, the show and its
characters grew on me, and the third episode was outright
hilarious, especially towards the end. I hope it gets even
The show is about a foul-mouthed comedian (Jim Jeffries,
playing a larger-than-life version of himself), his friend
Steve (Dan Bakkedahl), and Steve's brother, Billy. Billy is
in a wheelchair and is played by the wonderful actor DJ
Qualls, whom you may have seen on "Memphis Beat" or
"Supernatural". The first three episodes have Jim seeing
Billy and helping him get laid, and then helping him get a
girlfriend. It's better than it sounds.
I'm sure they are trying to duplicate the success of
"Louie". Check it out for yourself and see if you like

In the new FX original comedy series, Legit, Jim
Jefferies stars as an edgy, foul-mouthed, stand-up comedian
from Australia, in his mid-30s and living in LA, struggling
to make his life and career more "legit," only to find it a
difficult, uncomfortable uphill struggle every step of the
way. Jim is encouraged in his quest by his neurotic best
friend and roommate, Steve, a cyberlaw library salesman who
struggles to stay on his feet in the wake of a divorce, and
Steve’s brother, Billy, who suffers from advanced staged
Muscular Dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair. Legit
stars Jim Jefferies as ‘Jim,’ Dan Bakkedahl as ‘Steve’ and
DJ Qualls as ‘Billy.’ Peter O'Fallon, Jim Jefferies, Rick
Cleveland and Lisa Blum serve as Executive Producers. The
series is produced by FX Productions. FX has ordered 13
episodes of Legit that will air Thursdays at 10:30pm.
