Army Wives

"Army Wives" review by Suzanne
Returns March 10 for season 7

I'm sad to say that this show has seen better days. Everyone's looking way too old. But that's not the worst part of it. They killed off one of the major characters (one of the few that is aging pretty well) and March 10 and 17 episodes are all about her life and people being sad, crying, and trying to get past her death. I'm not kidding. It's the most depressing two hours you'll ever spend in your life.

I liked this show, but now I think it should have been canceled. I guess after these two episodes, they can only get better. They were the worst. It's one thing to have a bit of melodrama. It's another to make your show a complete sobfest and weepy. I still love the actors, but they are all wasted in this. And when did Brian McNamara get so fat? I used to think he was gorgeous. Ah, well, happens to the best of us, I guess.

They do bring in a few new characters as we say goodbye to some old ones. It's not enough to balance out all the depressing stuff, though.

I was very glad to hear that they decided not to cancel Drop Dead Divas after all. That is a much better show than this one so it was an outrage when they canceled it. I look forward to that show's return. I don't usually suggest canceling a series unless it's really bad. They should shoot this one and put it out of its misery.
