New Episodes return Wednesday Jan 18 10/9C on USA Network
I never miss this show. It's kind of like a soap opera but has a
lot of comedy. Since "General Hospital" doesn't have too much about medicine any
more, and ER is gone, this is a good substitute. Grey's Anatomy is fine
but....it's more about who's sleeping with whom than about the medical stories.
Royal Pains is mostly about the medical stuff, and the character parts are
This new season is no different Hank and the others have several
patients in the new episode starting January 18th. In the first episode, "A
Farewell to Barnes", a caterer is having some mysterious aches and pains, but
Hank fixes her up. Hank's golf friend returns and has to deal with a new
diagnosis that threatens his life. Divya has to face the music for accidentally
almost-killing the guy from last season when she was over-worked. Evan
still has to deal with his future father-in-law. In the second episode on
January 25th, "Some Pig", Hank has trouble figuring out why the band members of
the group Some Pig are all suddenly getting sick. Jill breaks up with Hank
again because she wants to leave town, but she finds it difficult. Divya still
has to deal with her financial problems. She and Jill treat a thief that steals
and breaks a precious china set. In "My Back to the Future" February 1,
Hank's back goes out, so Evan gets the doctor from the hospital, Paul Van Dyke
(Kyle Howard), to fill in for Hank. It leads him to a poignant discovery.
I enjoyed all three episodes, as usual! The first one was great
because the patient has some similar problems to ones I have (I'm not saying
more, to avoid real spoilers). My only complaint about the episodes is
that we don't see Boris or Eddie. At least we do get to see Mrs. Newburg,
though! Make sure to tune in to this fun show.
