"Ice
Age: A Mammoth Christmas"
review by Suzanne
Premieres Thanksgiving (Thursday, 11/24) at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on Fox.
An encore airs Friday, Dec. 16 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).
This is a really fun Christmas special. It's not overly
sentimental, and it is actually really funny, even for adults. I have never seen
any of the Ice Age movies, so I have been missing something good. I will have to
go buy them now.
In this special, which they are showing on FOX during the holiday season, Manny
and his family prepare to celebrate Christmas. His son gets upset when Manny
says there is no Santa, so he and others head off to the North Pole to find him.
The animation is really good, and there are lots of great jokes.
You don't want to miss this one if you like fun Christmas specials. It's sure to
be a classic. Of course, they are also coming out with the new Ice Age movie,
Continental Drift, so there is some cross-promotion going on here. Fine with me
since they seem to be quality entertainment.
See a clip!

The all-new animated special, ICE AGE: A MAMMOTH CHRISTMAS,
airing this Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 24 (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
In ICE AGE: A MAMMOTH CHRISTMAS, America’s favorite arctic herd is busy
decorating for the holiday season. In his rush to help, SID (John Leguizamo)
destroys MANNY’s (Ray Romano) favorite decorations. Manny is so upset he
convinces Sid he is now on Santa’s naughty list. Sid, CRASH (Seann William
Scott), EDDIE (Josh Peck) and PEACHES (Ciara Bravo) take off for the North Pole
to plead their case to SANTA (Billy Gardell). Meanwhile, Manny, ELLIE (Queen
Latifah) and DIEGO (Denis Leary), worry over Peaches’ safety and race to find
her. Back at the North Pole, Sid and his crew accidentally destroy Santa’s
Workshop on Christmas Eve, and it’s up to these newfound friends to orchestrate
a Christmas miracle. The special, directed by Karen Disher, also features the
voice talent of Chris Wedge, T.J. Miller and Judah Friedlander.
