Primetime Show Reviews

"Human Target"  by Suzanne
Airing on FOX Tuesdays 9/8c

Human Target is a pretty good action/adventure show. The hero, Chance, is hired by various clients that need him to protect them. He does so by posing as some anonymous or innocuous guy, like an insurance agent or personal assistant. Then he usually has to fight off the bad guy or avert some disaster to protect his client. It's light and fun, with plenty of stuff going on.

Mark Valley is the star, and he's perfect for the role. He's handsome but somewhat nondescript. Chi McBride is great as the man he works with. Jackie Earle Haley is also very good as Guererro, the guy who helps them out with computers and other technical stuff. These guys have been in lots of series and movies. They are very experienced actors who don't disappoint. Like their characters, they get the job done.

The show seems a bit retro, in a good way. It reminds me of 80's shows like MacGyver. Unless the show changes drastically, I wouldn't expect anything too ground-breaking. That's fine, though. Sometimes it's fun to watch a good old-fashioned action hero show. I hope that I'm not the only one who thinks so.
