JT is looking over some papers with Paul.

Paul tells him that there is a match. “There is no doubt that the bomb that killed Lauren was made in Tom’s garage.”

Michael jumps up shouting that he was right all along. Paul assures Michael that Tom will be picked up. “Lauren will not be back but the man responsible will be punished.”

Tom is thinking what to do. “Those cops will be looking for me everywhere. Michael thinks that I am responsible for this explosion.” He is still in the house and hasn’t left as he told the girls in the basement he would.

Tom thinks back to seeing Sheila without her makeup for the first time. She told him that he and she could be useful to each other.

Tom regrets that day now.

Sheila told him about the idea to kidnap Lauren.

Lauren said that Sheila was a killer and a stalker, and she revealed some things that Sheila has done in the past to her. “She is obsessed with me Tom”.

Tom realizes that he can’t afford another mistake now. Things have gone terrible wrong.

Lauren is banging on the basement door downstairs and shouting hoping that Tom is still there.

Tom shouts at them to shut up down there. He is getting nervous and has to think.

In the basement Sheila tells Lauren to shut up. She thinks that Tom is halfway to Brazil right now. Sheila has to give him credit for saving himself. Lauren hopes that Tom isn’t gone. She tells Sheila that she better hope that Tom isn’t gone. “It will be just you and me and all the years of misery that you have put me through in the basement, and you don’t want that Sheila," Lauren threatens.

Victoria has Sharon and Brad with her at the house. “ I have the latest 'Beauty of Nature' sales figures. Things are great. Victoria gives Brad a lot of credit for the tour that Sharon just went on. “I want the both of you to do a whole West Coast tour together right after the holidays she announces. Brad thinks that is not a good idea. Sharon too remembers that Drucilla worked really hard on the tour and feels that she should be the one to go. Victoria can tell that something is wrong and demands to know what is really going on here between her spokes model and right-hand man.

Nick is at the coffeehouse looking at Cassie’s picture.

Phyllis comes by and says ‘hello’. She is going to work with Nikki on their idea that day.

She comes over too to see the memorial wall for Cassie. She and Nick share idle chatter.

Nikki arrives and greets Phyllis and Nick.

She then goes to the wall and looks at how lovely it is. Nick kisses his mother and then leaves.

Nikki and Phyllis sit on the patio. They are waiting for Jill who will be late for the meeting.

Nikki tells that they might not need Jill or Jabot as Victor is willing to fund the project. They will have to figure something out as Phyllis probably will not want to work with Jabot again, Nikki feels.

John and Gloria enter the house together.

Gloria is upset when she sees the Christmas tree is down.

Ashley comes out to greet her father and his new wife now that they have returned from their honeymoon. “Hi!" Gloria demands to know why the tree is down. Ashley tells that something terrible happened while they were away. “I didn’t want to bother you with the news. Something has happened to Lauren…”

Gloria is frantic when Ashley fills her in. Ashley tells that Michael wasn’t with Lauren when this happened. John feels that maybe the boat wasn’t safe. Ashley reveals that the boat was deliberately blown up. John knows that Tom was the one that had to have done this.

Michael is sure that Tom killed his wife. Paul wants to make Michael see that Tom isn’t capable of doing this. Michael remembers the man who chased his kids around with a lighter cause it was fun. He could have found out how to do hit. “Do you really believe that 'Jennifer' is involved in this? If she was involved it was in a minimal way.” Paul knows that Tom was involved but why would Brenda or Jennifer would want to help him? “Maybe she had a reason of her own to get involved. There were more than one set of twins involved in Tom’s room. Maybe that will tell who 'Jennifer' was.” Michael says that 'Jennifer' might have helped in a little way but he is sure that this was Tom.

Tom takes a beer out of the fridge and drinks as he thinks.

“I have to get to Michael and make a deal. Get Lauren back to Michael and then turn that other bitch in. I will get some money too. That Forester guy will cough up some too.”

Tom looks at the television which has been muted. He sees his image on it.

He turns up the volume. “…Police are on the lookout for Tom Fisher… He is involved in the death of Lauren Fenmore. It has been reported that the material found at the scene of the explosion has been found to be a match to evidence found in Tom garage…” Tom grabs his tire iron and heads to the basement.

Sheila and Lauren are talking when the door suddenly opens.

Lauren and Sheila watch as Tom makes his way over to Sheila. He gets her neck in a grip and he holds her throat tightly as he confronts her. “You were going to kill me all along weren’t you? Weren’t you?" Tom shouts. Sheila can’t answer. He is squeezing her throat too tight.

Brad says that he doesn't think that leaving the office for a tour with Sharon is good for him or the company. Brad feels that Drucilla should go to do the first part of the tour. Victoria would rather him do it. “Am I missing something here? Did something happen in St. Louis that I should know about?"

Nick comes in. Victoria turns to him and asks him to order Brad and Sharon to head out on the next tour together. Nick says that Victoria shouldn’t press that issue.

Sharon rushes over to Victoria and shows her the ring that Nick gave her for Christmas.

Nick looks at Brad and decides that he has to leave. He walks out.

Victoria asks what that was all about. Brad offers to go and talk to him and he too leaves.

Victoria tells Sharon that she is terribly confused by the way that everyone is acting lately. Sharon says nothing.

Phyllis and Nikki are talking business.

Jill arrives and apologizes for being late. They talk about Lauren for a moment and how she has met with a tragedy.

Next the women talk about the project. Phyllis and Nikki pitch the idea. “We are going to make women get in touch with their beauty inside and out.”

Nick is at his house.

Brad knocks seconds later. “We have to settle something right now. I am sick and tired of you glaring at me. We are going to be spending a lot of time together. Sharon told me everything. Nothing happened in St. Louis. You are choosing to ignore what really happened. I am not the bad guy in your marriage Nick. You are.”

Jill gets it. “So you get cosmetics, spa treatments and even surgeries? Wow! This s like the anti-aging cream thing that you came up with before right Nikki?" Jill finds it funny that Phyllis is into this so much. Nikki tells that Phyllis gave much insight. Jill really feels that Katherine has to hear about this. Nikki hopes that Katherine will like the idea better than Jack did. Jill is hurt once again to hear that people has gone over her head again. Nikki and Phyllis apologize. Jill accepts that. “This idea is a winner and we are going to take it to the next level with or without Jack.”

Paul gets off the phone.

He tells JT to get over to the office and wait for a fax to do with the case. JT leaves.

Paul and Michael are alone at Michael’s apartment now. Paul promises that Tom will be caught. Michael knows that Tom can get out of the country easily. Paul owes Lauren and will get to Tom one way or the other. Michael feels now that he should have killed that bastard the first time that he saw him in Genoa City. Paul warns that will not bring Lauren back.

The phone rings.

No one moves to answer it.

Gloria hears the outgoing of Michael and Lauren’s voices talking together.

Gloria hangs up. “No one is picking up.”

Ashley is filling them in on the details. “Paul thinks that 'Jennifer' might be involved. Tom could be heading to South America. I have some trouble thinking that Tom could kill Lauren. He was terrified of the drug charges alone.” John worries that one in his family might be next. “I am not going to wait until Tom comes after us.” John walks out of the room.

Tom is strangling Sheila. He almost has her dead.

Lauren runs to him and stops the attempt on her life. Tom moves away.

“The cops found the stuff that you used to try and kill Lauren.” Lauren understands now. “I am through listening to your lies Sheila. You hear me? I am looking at twenty years in prison.” Lauren tells that she just wants to get back to her son.

Sheila pipes up now. “It is always about you isn’t it Lauren? You and how you say you feel about your precious son," Sheila spits. Lauren turns to Sheila and shouts at her to just ‘Shut up!"

Tom flips. “JUST SHUT UP! I can’t think!" He turns his back on the girls and rubs his head. Sheila and Lauren stand quietly and watch him try to calm himself down.

Lauren tells Tom that he has to save himself. “I will help you with the police.” Tom knows that he will still get kidnapping charges. She is sure that the cops will listen to her. Tom told Lauren that she had the chance to help him get close to his family but instead she listened to Michael. “I wanted to change.” Lauren just remembers him doing things that made him seem like a bad person. “She is a bad guy, not you Tom. You are going to get a medal for this.” Sheila tells that Lauren is snowing him. Lauren guarantees that she can get the cops to listen to her.

Sheila reminds Tom again that they have the account in South America and they can still save this deal.

Tom grabs his tire iron and turns to Sheila. “There is only one person that can save me, and it isn’t you," Tom says, “…or you," Tom turns to Lauren. “It is me!" Tom leaves.

Lauren screams, 'no' as she watches the door shut behind him.

Sheila is calm. “There is only one good thing about this. If I die, then I get to know you die too.”

Victoria tells Sharon that she can’t understand how everyone is acting. “Do you know Sharon what is going on with Nick and Brad? The closer that I get to Brad, the worse Nick gets.”

Brad and Nick argue. Brad tells Nick that he wasn’t responsible for what happened in St. Louis. “You have been treating your wife badly for months Nick!"

At the Abbot house, Gloria is trying to reach Michael again.

She only gets the same outgoing message, but no one answers.

She hangs up.

As she is walking away from the phone, it rings.

Gloria rushes to it. “Hello!"

“Gloria! It is Tom.”

Gloria almost falls over when she hears his voice… “Tom!"

John is in the back of the house and he peeks in the doorway listening to Gloria’s phone call without her knowing he is behind her.

“What do you want? You are going to burn in hell for what you have done!" Tom tells that he didn’t do anything.

Ashley comes rushing into the room when she hears her stepmother’s voice. She skids to a stop before Gloria when she hears that she is talking to Tom and she listens. John is still behind Gloria in a doorway.

“What do you want?" Tom tells Gloria to meet him. “Where are you?" He tells that he is behind Roman’s Steakhouse. “Hurry. I will be waiting.”

Gloria repeats exactly what he says to her.

John backs out the doorway the way that he came in and is gone.

Gloria ends her call, and Ashley gets her cellphone out to call the police.

Ashley hears a car.

She rushes to the front of the house and sees her father driving off.

“Daddy! Daddy!" Too late. He is gone.

Ashley rushes to get her things.

The meeting is over and it has been decided. The project will be started. Nikki’s idea is a ‘go’.

Paul and Michael are still together and talking.

The phone rings.

“Michael! It is me!" Michael asks her what this is about. “Tom called me. He told me to meet him in back of Roman’s Steakhouse.” Michael stays calm and thanks her for the information.

He calmly hangs up as Paul watches. “I have to go out now," Michael says. He grabs his jacket and leaves Paul in his apartment.

In an alley, by a dumpster, Tom is waiting. He shivers in the cold as he waits for Gloria.

A car drives up.

Tom hides between two dumpsters.

The car stops nearby and Tom ventures out of his hiding place.

His face changes when he sees who is walking towards him. “What are you doing here," he demands t know.

Sharon tells Victoria that whatever is happening with Nick will soon blow over. Sharon knows what Victoria is feeling and tells her that she has a right to live her own life. Victoria appreciates that. Sharon says that Brad and Victoria are a great match.

Nick will not discuss his marriage with Brad. He doesn’t trust the man. “I don’t want to see Newman or my sister hurt.” Brad promises to take care of Victoria and tells Nick to take care of Newman.

Paul lets JT in. He has the report from the fax. Things are lining up.

JT has a picture from the fax.

Paul looks at it. “Oh my God! Sheila Carter?"

JT demands to know who Sheila is.

Lauren and Sheila talk some more. Lauren finds it funny that Sheila played Tom for a fool and now he is getting her back. Lauren knows that Tom will not hurt her. “I know that Tom loves money and I am his golden ticket. I will be getting out and I will be with my husband and my son.” Sheila smiles at her and it evolves into a laugh. “That is never going to happen Lauren.” Lauren guarantees that it will. “Your life is over and I will go back to living happily ever after. I hate you Sheila for what you have done to me. Scott will hate you forever.”

Back at the alley, Tom lies face down bleeding and not moving.

Ashley stands over him looking down at him and she is not moving either.
