Sharon Kidnapped – Who Should Ultimately Save Her?
July 31, 2006
So Sharon is in trouble, JT is possibly dead, and half of Genoa
City is facing danger! Exciting stories are happening on The Young and
the Restless lately. My question is, who should be the one to come
through and save Sharon? We already know Brad and Nick are going to
have to work together to find her, but when they do, who should get in
there and be the hero?
In my opinion, Nick should be the ultimate saviour of Sharon. For
one, Brad is the one who carelessly put Sharon in danger in the first
place. From what he’s told us about his past, he was all too aware of
how dangerous these people can be murdering his family and anyone who
gets in their path. It makes you wonder if all his “being there”
moments for Sharon were even real in the first place. Also, according
to what J.T. has told Sharon, she MUST be wondering if Brad is
dangerous himself. We all know he isn’t, but from the evidence J.T.
found on him, Sharon certainly should be a little weary of him until
she learns the story.
Reason number two is the Nick and Sharon love story, or at the very
least the Sharon/Nick/Phyllis love triangle. In order to keep it open,
they should portray Nick as overly concerned, angry with Brad, and the
one who comes through for Sharon. Not only will this give Phyllis
something to think about, it will also show Sharon that Nick does in
fact still care for her and she is not just an obligation because of
Noah. I think this would be classic Y&R storytelling and an excellent
reflection of the past when Victor would always come through for Nikki
no matter who he was with.
My final reason is just the fact that I don’t find Brad and Sharon
to have any chemistry at all together. We’ve seen months of Brad
always consoling Sharon and coming through and I think it’s about time
we see Nick get into some action and show some energy towards his
wife. Whether they go through with a divorce or not, this is a perfect
way to see if Nick and Sharon still have that on screen chemistry or
if it really is over.
