Miss Cassie's Death Still Uncalled For!

Many have re-hashed this subject time and time again, and yet, around 1 year after Miss Cassie Newman's death, I get _MOST_ angry whenever it is brought up, not sad and moved by the characters' reactions, etc., to it as I may be expected to be, still thinking that it was _EMINENTLY_ avoidable!!! _NO_, in my opinion, she was _NOT_ killed by Master Romalotti getting drunk, thus causing her to take the wheel to try to save him, nor by her so doing, but by the current _Y&R_ regime's predecessor's brain and pen, keen though that brain and articulate though its possessor could be. It has been asked many, _MANY_ times by others, but could she not have been sent away for some reason, thus enabling Miss Grimes to fulfill her desire to leave the program when her contract expired last month while leaving her the option to return later should she have wished? To be sure, I was not liking this character's growing rebelliousness despite Miss Grime's stated view that she was too good, feeling, as I have written elsewhere, that we could do with some innocent, virtuous characters on our soaps at least from time to time. "Ambassador Cassie" as I called her was _CERTAINLY_ a force for good, bringing peace out of conflict as well as some general _GOOD_ _FEELING_, and what is wrong with _THAT_? Had Miss Newman been allowed to merely leave instead of die, and while there could be no guarantees of this, might there not have been _AT_ _LEAST_ a chance that Miss Grimes might have seen this differently once she had grown a bit older? And could not the younger Newman's undoubtedly-shallow, despite its longevity, marriage have been tried in some other way? This could _POTENTIALLY_ seem insensitive to some, but, if Miss Newman _HAD_ to die, why not let her _DIE_, not dwelling on it _AT_ _ALL_ beyond _MAYBE_ an occasional passing reference if and where necessary? Is going through this, knowing that it was again _EMINENTLY_ avoidable, worthwhile? No, NO, _NO_, again in my opinion!!! Doubtless this is not an original piece of writing, but hopefully it is somehow resonant nonetheless. And, after having written the below paragraph, it occurs to me to say that I hope Miss Grimes' history with _Y&R_ might have a bitter-sweet ending by her receiving a second Daytime Emmy, possibly even before this writing is posted. I _CERTAINLY_ would like that!!!!

And while I am here, could La Gloria's contamination of the Jabot cream _PLEASE_ come to light beyond just the Fisher Circle, and that _RIGHT_ _SOON_? Unless she is under a contract of more than one year (which I obviously hope she is not), could not Miss Chapman find equal, if not better, work elsewhere based on her obvious talent and apparent experience?
