There are some
great storylines going on on Y&R right now and here are my comments
on some of them.
Nick and Phyllis'
affair - I read on CBS.com today that many readers have been writing
in and saying what a home wrecker Phyllis is. I take issue
with this. It takes two to tango and Nick was right there
wrecking his own home. While Sharon managed to fight her
feelings for someone else, for some reason, Nick was unable to do
this. What was the difference? I'm not sure, but I'm
surprised Sharon and Nick have lasted this long. How many
affairs have each of them had in their 10 year marriage?
Sharon has slept with at least two different men and Nick has slept
with at least two different women. I'm glad that the writers
are shaking this marriage up a bit. I think it will be a very
interesting story since Nick's parents are business partners with
Phyllis. What will this do to Phyllis' career? And what
will happen when Jack finds out? When I first heard about the
writers putting Nick and Phyllis together as a couple, I could not
see it at all, but, as it turns out, I have been enjoying the story
and think they have some good chemistry going there. I
wouldn't mind seeing this play out a little more.
Lily finding out
who her biological father is - Those of us long-time viewers have
been waiting a long time for the answer to who is really Lily's
biological father. While I am looking forward to what happens
with this story, I wish we could see Malcolm involved in it.
That certainly isn't going to happen with Shemar Moore looking like
he'll be staying in primetime for a while Perhaps they should
recast, but I personally can't see anyone else taking over the role
of Malcolm. Shemar Moore IS Malcolm. They've already
messed up the character of Lily, in my opinion, with their recast.
She just a little too whiny and I see no chemistry between her and
Michael G like he and Christel Khalil had. I am looking
forward to seeing how this will affect Dru and Neil's marriage.
Will it be strong enough to withstand this old secret? Will it
send Neil back to drink?
Gloria and Jabot -
This story is looking interesting to me as Mrs. John Abbott decides
to show her stepkids that she doesn't like to be dissed in the
boardroom. I guess we can finally see that Kevin and Michael
didn't get their mean streak only from Tom Fisher. Gloria's
little scheme shows once again that the apple doesn't fall far from
the tree. Will she come out the hero somehow in this story by
helping everyone in the end? Or will they easily see right
through her illegal actions and send her to prison along with her
husband?
It's getting
interesting! But that's just my opinion...What's yours?
