Ashley returned to work wearing an ill-fitting
Virginia Slims ad outfit circa late 1980’s and put the kibosh on the
orchid research. I can understand how she would want the entire
company to benefit from the civil suit money. That makes sense for the
bottom line. Looks like their bottom line will have to get even lower,
thanks to Jack. He didn’t figure $50mln is enough for Jabot to make
one less payment to Victor and the other $25mln may get them back to
where they were when they tried to acquire Sateen in the first place.
The way I see it, he knows he did wrong to turn Victor’s offer down if
he wanted to keep it from his father and Ashley. Now that Mikey can
swoop in on the civil suit, they’ll be lucky to get more than the cost
of their advertising and shelf placement that Victor took away from
them.
Phyllis has had quite a week. First, she feels like she’s losing her
stepson then finds out her son will be coming to town. I hope this
works out for her, as awkward as it may be. Kids shouldn’t have access
to one parent denied unless they would be in danger, of course. Let’s
hope Danny can handle The Bug’s disapproving glares and take the high
road on this matter. Then Damon kisses her awake to get her to do the
wifely thing she should have done all along – take Jack’s job offer.
Looks like she has Jabot’s bottom line uppermost in her mind, too –
what company has their own architect ($$$) to redesign their digs when
they’re very close to going belly up? I’m with Phyllis and Brad on the
Diane issue – she’s just being a little too kind and gentle.
What made me go “huh?” this week was when Bobby mentioned Kevin was
“dead meat” and Angelo and Sal got nervous. These two guys have been
itching to shove their knuckles as far up Fred’s nose as they could
possibly go, but Bobby makes a threat against his former bookkeeper
and they’re suddenly concerned about violence? Come on.
Sharon, Sharon, Sharon. She has truly gone mad. Det. Weber isn’t as
dumb as Paul. And now she wants her dear mother-in-law to be an
accessory after the fact. Well, I guess that could be a unique form of
revenge on someone who is always nosing in on other people’s business.
Quite frankly, I’m getting a little tired of seeing Sharon grab her
throat in nearly every scene. I wonder when Grace and Cameron will
reveal they’re just exacting revenge for running Grace out of town.
