JM's Opinion:
Sharon and David – What a Cliché (January
31, 2007)
Who is David Chow? A stalker? A serial killer? An innocent bystander who
just wants justice? None of us know yet, but Sharon is determined to help
her best friend find out, despite warnings from Dru and Neil. What a clever
cliché this is: Befriending a man for information, and ending up truly
falling for him in the end. Perhaps that’s the direction the writers are
going, and I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to watch this storyline
unfold.
Since Nick and Sharon divorced, Sharon has basically been on the
backburner; the writers have not given her a storyline she can call her own.
Rather, they have been putting her in supporting roles in other characters
storylines. One of those would be with Dru and her family’s fight for
innocence in the Carmen Mesta murder. Well it’s starting to look like now
Sharon Case is finally going to go on the front-burner with a storyline of
her own.
From the very first appearance Vincent Irizarry played as the character
David Chow, his scenes have been with Dru and Sharon. I noticed chemistry
between him and Sharon immediately. Dru would be going off on David as he
coincidentally seemed to be everywhere Dru was, while Sharon would remain
calm, supporting her friend, but not flipping out on David either. Now
Sharon is going to befriend him to get information and it should be
interesting.
All I can hope for is that David turns out to really be an honest man who
deeply cared for Carmen and truly just wants justice. If that is the case, I
think Sharon and David could definitely compete with Nick and Phyllis as the
hottest couple in daytime!
