Paul's Lack of Airtime: Why is
Doug Davidson treated that way?

Paul vanished without an explanation over a month ago. In spite of
all
the mysteries in Genoa City, the official private investigator isn't
used nowadays. He has appeared on only 20 episodes in 2011 and hasn't
been significantly involved in a story since the end of the dirty cop
trial. By the way, has someone ever heard the verdict?
Current writers haven't given Paul a real love interest since
Maggie's
unexplained disappearance: Nikki was still in love with Victor. Jill
and Paul's fake romance was fun but unfortunately, it ended too fast.
Nina and Paul were only allowed to have a too short love scene when
Christine was in town.
Heather, from now on played by an actress who isn't believable at all
as his and April's daughter, is the only family Paul still has in
town. Why is his son Ricky never mentioned? With all the newbies
arriving almost every day (Meggie, Deacon, Ryder, Daisy, Sarah, Eden,
Colin, Genevieve, Caleb, Sam, Piper, Hunter) why has only one
member
of the Williams family found her way back to Genoa City? Although she was
brought back to give airtime and stories to Jack... and Victor (as
usual), Patty Williams was a great addition to the show. Her sibling
chemistry with Paul was amazing and a pleasure to watch. Stacy Haiduk
and Doug Davidson were moving and perfect in each scene they shared,
and the Emmy nominations Doug Davidson got these past two years were
so well-deserved. Unfortunately, Patty has gone. Why haven't TPTB
been
able to keep Stacy Haiduk on the show?
The following words were delivered by William Bell in 1998: "Doug,
you are and have been a very powerful and formidable force on The
Young and the Restless. You're very special and loved by everyone."
Am I the only one who can't understand why a talented actor, praised
by the creator of Y&R, is treated so badly nowadays? Doug Davidson has
been loyal to the show since 1978. He's a great man who never
complains and has always nice things to say about Y&R.
Paul is an interesting and decent character. He's needed in this
crazy
town where too many villains have reigned for too long.
Please, TPTB, do the right thing: bring Paul back and write for him.
