So, are you a betting person? I'm not, not really, but I
just thought it might be time to think about it for a minute or two.
There are so many questions on this show now that need to be
answered, and I simply don't have a clue as to what the answers will
turn out to be, and since it's a crap shoot, I figured we might as
well have some fun with it.
For instance, if you were betting, would you bet that Theresa and
Ethan will end up together, or not? And if so, as a side bet,
do you think it will happen this year, next year, or many years down
the road, if the show lasts that long? My bet is that they
will end up together, but it will be at the very end of the show,
once it's been cancelled and they get to the last show. I
don't see the need to keep them apart all this time, it simply makes
no sense to me, and because of that, I have to say it will only
happen in an effort to tie up loose ends when the show ends.
How about Kay and Fox? Would you bet they will or won't get
married? What would you bet that Miguel will manage to steal
her away for himself? And if he does, how much would you be
willing to bet that Charity will find her way back to Harmony and
he'll take off after her again, leaving Kay high and dry once more?
I still hope the Foxay wedding will take place, and she will kick
Miguel to the curb once and for all, but as a realist, I'd have to
say the odds are against that now. I think poor Fox will be
dumped yet again, probably at the alter, while Kay runs off and
marries Miguel in Las Vegas or something. Then, the day after
they marry, Charity comes back looking for him, and within two weeks
they'll leave town, leaving Kay with no one.
Whitney and Chad. How much are you willing to bet that his
lover not only isn't Valerie, it's a guy? Or else it's
Rebecca? I have been trying to remember if he ever
specifically said his lover is a woman or not, but if he did, then
I'd think Rebecca would be the perfect "other woman".
No one would expect it, you'd have to agree, and she's the kind who
would demand he continue to take care of her needs even after he
marries Whitney. Besides, they are trying to hard to make it
seem like it's Valerie, yet they still aren't showing her, so that
tells me she's a red herring, and the real lover is still out there
Julian and Eve. Do you think they'll ever get back
together, or are they done for good? I'm willing to bet that
it's all over this time, and there won't be a next. I think
his actions and words were just far too cruel for her to be able to
forgive and forget, even tho he was drunk when it happened. I
know that I would never have made love to him right after he had
been with Valerie, personally, and there is just no way to ever get
over what he did and said. As much as it pains me to say it, I
think Evian is finished forever.
Luis and Sheridan. Now, there's a couple that really, truly
belongs together. I can understand the first three or four
times the writers ripped this couple apart, even tho I didn't like
it, but after seven years these two are still not together and
living more or less happily ever after? No freaking way!
That just makes no sense whatsoever, and there's no one who can ever
explain that to me, unless it's just another way for them to drive
us all crazy. My bet is this is another couple who will never
be together until the last day of the show, and I would be willing
to bet any amount I'm right about that one.
Are you beginning to see a pattern here? Yep, it's the same
one that's been going on since the show first aired, with no let up
in sight. From here on out it will always be known as the
Failed Passions Pattern in soap lexicon, mark my words.
Whenever a new show comes on the air, the warning will go out to
avoid the FPP at all costs, and we'll all know what that means.
If there's anyone out there who still doesn't know why this show
that started out with so much promise is still stuck in the ratings
basement, the FPP is the answer. They simply refuse to allow
any of their "super couples" to be happy for more than a
week or two at a time, and they never - NEVER - allow them to marry
and enjoy life together. It has never happened, and never
will, on this show, at least not until the very last show. So,
once the lights go out for the last time, we will always know why:
the dreaded FPP.
