What a week, huh? It really is getting more interesting,
with new twists popping up all over. It's kind of like the earthquake
exposed some buried treasure while it destroyed Harmony. One can only
wonder what new twists will be swept in (or out) with the coming tsunami.
I'd read that changes are being made to the show to get it back to what it
was and give fans more of what they want, so maybe this is the means of
doing that. It would make a good example of the silver lining behind every
cloud, that's for sure.
Last week I was not sure what Theresa was planning by
going out with Alistair, or even if she would really do it or not, but now
we know she did. Of course it didn't turn out the way either of them had
planned it, but I actually think that's for the best, at least as far as
his plans were concerned. Theresa might still be planning to go through
with her plan for siding with him, but we won't know until at least next
week so there's no need to worry about it now. For now, we can be thankful
that, while the date did happen, what Alistair had planned didn't, and I,
for one, am thrilled by that.
I do think part of her plan worked quite well. Ethan
almost popped a gusset when he saw them together in the Blue Note,
especially since Alistair was hanging off her neck like a leach. Now, I
don't understand what she was thinking, why she allowed him to nuzzle her
that way, but it was gross. Maybe it wasn't so much that she allowed it,
although she did look like she was enjoying it when Gwen and Ethan spotted
them, but this show makes a habit of making it look like people are
feeling one thing and then changing it later to show they really felt
something quite different. Now, I have to admit, I missed the
"replay" of Gwen and Ethan spotting them, but it wouldn't
surprise me if that time they had Theresa trying to push him away, not
sitting there with a big grin on her face as he nuzzled away at her.
Does anyone else get tired of Gwen always saying "I
told you so" when it comes to Theresa, no matter what the situation?
I mean, we all know what she thinks of her, and we all know that Theresa
isn't doing what Gwen and Rebecca think she is, especially not for the
reasons they make up, yet it seems Gwen has a knack for being able to
predict what the girl is going to do. Well, she usually has the basics
wrong, but you know what I mean. This week, out of the blue, with no hints
or reasons to believe anything was up, she suddenly came up with the
"What if Theresa teams up with Alistair" bit out of thin air! I
have to tell you, that was a bit much. Now, I'm not arguing that she had
the right idea, but I keep wondering what gave her the reason to believe
it was even possible. It would make as much sense as if I were to wonder
about what would happen if Spiderman teamed up with Godzilla. It's beyond
he realm of possibility as far as normal people are concerned. There was
no reason for Gwen to even think that Theresa would join forces with her
family's mortal enemy. Well, it is Harmony and anything goes, but it just
doesn't make sense, and I'm really tired of those two witches always
saying "I told you so."
Fox and Kay. WOW!! That's my feelings on this budding
couple. I can't believe I could be so happy to see Kay finally finding
someone to focus on besides Miguel, but I am, and the fact that it's Fox
only makes it sweeter. He is my idea of a real man, even tho some of his
actions against Chad were too Crane-like for my taste. But this week we
got to see that he is still the lovable guy we all adore, and it was
really nice. He's even managed to mellow where Chad is concerned, although
he still wants his son back, or the boy he thinks is his son. Hopefully
the "sources" are right and he will find out Chad is really the
father soon, and having Kay there to console him is going to be so great.
I loved his scenes with Endora, and her reaction to him, although her
flying around the room the other day was a bit much. But hey, what's a
girl to do when the object of her affections is spending time with another
girl? True, he's her brother, but that doesn't exclude a bit of jealousy
when it comes to wanting all of his attention. What a cute idea that was.
Now, from the cute to the stupid. What was Katherine
thinking when she made a beeline to the Lopez-Fitzgerald house after the
quake? The woman knows Martin is trying to put his marriage to Pilar back
together, so what right does she have to run to his house and leap into
his arms like that? I was hoping Pilar would do more than just lecture her
on proper behavior, tho. I'd have loved to see her grab the woman by the
hair and escort her outside during the lecture, then apply her foot to the
woman's rear end, applying a mighty kick to get her out of the house. LOL!!
I know, I sound evil, but that woman is really getting on my nerves. I
know she's used to getting what she wants, but sooner or later she needs
to get it through her head that Martin is off limits, completely. If it
takes a good beat down from Pilar to get the message through her thick
skull, then so be it.
What is Fancy's problem, does anyone know? Noah constantly
keeps saving her from herself, yet all she can do is whine, complain, and
accuse him of trying to kill her. I know the concept behind their
relationship - meet, hate, fight, kiss, and fall in love - but this is the
worst written story I've ever seen. I don't want them together! I hate
them together! I wish he would have left her in the crevasse and let her
fall into the molten lava and burn up. Are you getting a clue as to just
how much I hate this character? She has no redeeming qualities whatsoever,
and to have a guy like Noah risking life and limb to save her ungrateful
behind is ludicrous. True, he has his rough edges, too, but we've always
seen the kind heart of a gentleman beating in his chest, while we've seen
nothing but a selfish, shrewish, spoiled brat with her. Oh, they try to
make it look like she cares sometimes, but it only lasts as long as it
takes to frown for a half-second, and then it's gone, leaving the spoiled,
rich witch we've known all along. And the worst part is, she's infectious!
First we saw it with Sheridan when she turned into a selfish, whining,
unreasonable, shrew toward Luis, and now Kay caught it. I couldn't believe
she actually accused Fox of trying to kill her when she fell through the
floor! Pure Fancy! They need to get rid of her before the whole town is
filled with nothing but whining little princess-types. Can you imagine
what that would sound like? Yikes!!
Awwww, Julian finally proposed to Eve, and she accepted! I
am so thrilled. But, leave it to TC to start in again. He just won't let
her be happy. He finds out they are engaged and right away he starts
pouting about it, giving Eve puppy eyes when Julian kisses her. Thankfully
Julian and Eve are oblivious to it, but Liz noticed, and she wasn't too
happy about it. I couldn't believe what a whining baby she became when TC
and Eve were going to take care of Whitney after she'd been hurt trying to
get to Miles. But even worse than that was her instantaneous change into
vamp mode once she and Julian were alone. She came on to him before the
door had swung shut after TC and Eve had walked through it! Poor Julian
was astonished, then disgusted by her behavior. LOL!! I loved it. I can't
wait to see what he's going to do next. The previews showed us she has a
memory that he obviously doesn't, and I suspect there will be even more to
it once it gets going, but for now I just want to see him lambaste her for
being so slutty.
TC seems to have had a change of heart, too. It's amazing
what a little jealousy will do to a person, isn't it? You never do know
what you've got until it's gone, but he's carrying it to the extreme, in
my opinion. Julian slips a ring on Eve's finger and TC is ready to chuck
his new love and beg Eve to come back to him? I tell you what, if she were
to fall for it, that would make her too stupid to be believed. I hope she
reminds him she wasn't good enough for him before and nothing's happened
to make that any different. He wasn't willing to stand by her when she
needed him most, and to make it worse, he was more than willing to believe
everything Liz told him, even to the extent that he believed she would
actually try to kill her own sister. No, Eve better not fall for his
"buyer's remorse". He made his bed and should be made to lie in
Whitney has finally allowed her true feelings to surface,
willing to face any danger to get to her son and make sure he's alright. I
am much happier with this Whitney, the one we used to know. I just hope
she continues to realize she needs to have her son with her instead of
changing back to the "keep him away from me" mode she was in
before. I have made it clear before that I understand why she's upset, but
taking it out on the baby is not the way a decent person would act, and
hopefully she now has her priorities straight and will continue to act
responsibly toward her son.
Sheridan seems to be over her pique now. I think it's
great she seems to be the same caring person we used to know years ago,
too. I just really wish she would grow a backbone and stop backing down
from what she knows is right. She needs to act instead of whimper, too.
Why is she wandering around the apartment wishing the phone worked instead
of going outside and finding someone to come help her with Maureen? I did
enjoy the dream of Luis, tho. It's going to be so hard getting through the
next weeks/months without him on there at least once or twice a week, but
as long as we get flashbacks and dreams about him I think I can survive.
See, he's the reason I keep watching, no matter how stupid the show gets.
Any time I see him the rest of the show just fades away and I can enjoy
just looking at him. *Sigh* It does look like she still loves him and will
accept him back once he gets there, so that's good.
Just how stupid is Jessica, anyway? It doesn't seem to
matter what Spike tells her, how unbelievable and illogical it is, she
buys it hook, line, and sinker. I thought she was intelligent, but I can
see that was a stretch. And I still say Mark should be upset at the fact
the person who represented them on the show as a smart girl who knew a
good way to make money when she saw it has shown she's really dense and
willing to lower herself to any level for money or a man. If I were them
I'd be suing JER for defamation of character or something. I could not
believe the things that girl was falling for, and now she meekly stands
there and let's Spike kill a guy, then doesn't really question how he
could die from a scissors poke. I mean, he was fine after it happened, he
was strong and throwing her around like a rag doll, so how is it he dies a
few minutes later? What a moron! I feel badly for Sam, but she deserves
whatever she gets from here on out. I have no sympathy for her whatsoever.
That may sound harsh, but any girl above the age of 10 who can't see
through that Spike jerk and is willing to forget all she has been taught
about right and wrong doesn't deserve sympathy in my opinion. She knows
better!!! Kay had a reason to revolt, since she was her mother's forgotten
child except when she was bad, but Jessica has always been everyone's
princess and has no reason to act out this way. And even if she did, it
still wouldn't explain her stupidity. No one can say Kay is stupid under
Lastly, how evil is Alistair Crane, anyway? I know he's
done some rotten things, and he is beyond redemption, but to order a
scientist not to warn the town that a tsunami is coming? What the heck is
wrong with him? This is beyond evil, so far beyond I don't even know if
they have a word for it. He's always directed his evilness at individuals
and their families, but never toward the whole town. I simply can't
understand his reasons for doing it, other than the plot reasons, but he's
a character, not the writer. I mean, if everyone in town is swept away,
who will there be to work in the business' that have made him all his
money? Maybe he does have enough to keep going for years, but if Ethan is
right, it's only on paper and his solvency depends on his business,
keeping it going. So, someone please explain to me how cutting his own
throat makes sense to a man as smart as he obviously is? I don't
understand it in the least, and it will certainly be interesting finding
out what he's thinking.
Now, as much as I've enjoyed this week, it looks like next
week could be even better, and I can't wait to find out. I don't know why
things are moving in this story like they are, but all I can say is
"Hooray", and "Keep it coming". Stories are actually
moving and evolving, and it's everything I've been begging for all these
years. I just hope it's not a dream, that I won't wake up in the morning
and find none of it is really happening. That Gwen and Theresa will still
be fighting over Ethan, and TC will still be ranting and raging at anyone
he disagrees with, and Precious will still be taking care of batty old
Edna. And by the way, since I mentioned her, I am still loving the new
Edna. I know she's not going to be around much longer, but at least she'll
be going out in style, and I love it.
That's it for this week. Keep watching, which should be an
easy task since things are picking up, and check back next week to see if
the promise matches the reality in my opinion.
