Shirley's Opinion #84
11/8 - 11/12/04
Ok, for the umpteenth time, does TC have any brainpower at
all? I know I've asked that so many times you're all tired of
reading it, but hey, I'm just as tired of asking it. That man never
seems to learn, does he? How can he not see what Liz is doing?
How much more obvious does she have to get before he really sees she's the
one behind all this?
I really thought he might have caught on this week.
He actually said it seemed like she enjoyed tearing Eve down. I
heard him say that and thought "Oh, joy, the light has come on at
last!" But, all she had to do was say "Oh, no, I'd never
do that. Eve is just a dirty, rotten, lying, slut!" and he went
right back to letting her lead him around by the nose. It's
pathetic, I tell you. This man loves his wife. You can
see it every time he remembers their life together, but once Liz starts in
with her attacks on her, he just forgets his love for Eve and starts
getting angry all over again and hating her. I would have thought a
high school teacher would be smarter than that, but I guess not. And
it's not like he's a drama coach, or a music teacher. No, he's a gym
teacher, an athlete's coach. Now, how does a man teach his student
to be tough, to fight to win, when he himself is such a wimp that he will
allow a woman to shape his thoughts for him? Unbelievable! I
know some high school coaches, I worked with them, and for any one of them
to let a woman push them around like Liz does to TC is simply unthinkable.
It would never happen, I tell you. However, in this case, it did and
it's not about to change. My only hope is that Julian's parting
words to Liz mean more than just an idle threat. He told her she had
just made the biggest mistake of her life, and he looked like he really
meant it, so hopefully he has something instore for the snaky Liz,
something that will put her in her place and hopefully send her packing.
Now, having said that, I need to tell you that I am a big Julian/Eve fan
and I would love nothing better than to see them together, married and
living happily ever after, but I just hate that Liz is getting away with
such horrible things and want TC to wake up. He doesn't have to take
Eve back, even, just kick Liz to the curb after finding out what all she
has done to tear his life apart. I'd be happy to see that.
Well, it looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the
tree, doesn't it? Whitney has turned into her old backstabbing self
again. I tell you, with her for a friend, Theresa doesn't need any
enemies. Whitney is quite willing to listen to Theresa talk and then
run and tell whoever she names everything she just said. Do your
friends do that to you? Would you do it to them? I tell you
what, any friend of mine that ran and told someone something I told them
in confidence wouldn't be my friend any more. I believe that friends
are forever, and what is said between friends stays between friends,
unless the friend who's doing the talking asks the other to tell whoever
they are talking about what she says. You just simply don't break a
confidence with a friend for any reason. Now, for her to tell
Theresa that her plans aren't good, that she needs to work on getting help
for her anger or her fears is a good thing, the kind of thing a real
friend would do, but a friend simply won't go to the person her friend
talks about and tells them what was said to her in confidence. I
used to think the friendship between the two of them was something
special, the kind of friendship everyone hopes they have with their best
friend. Now, however, I see Whitney as a snoop who digs information
out of her "friend" then runs to the other person and tells all.
Pure, grade A snitch and troublemaker, that's our Whitney these days.
As if she has room to talk!!
I was glad to hear Kay and Simone talking about wishing
they were still close with their mothers. Both girls seemed to be
totally estranged from their mothers with no hope of ever reconciling, but
now it seems they are thinking about it and actually would love to see it
happen. I think that's one of the bright spots of the week,
actually. I love the way they tried to help Paloma with her mother,
too. It's just too bad Tabitha had to butt in and stir the anger and
pain the girl felt so it totally destroyed all the good will the girls had
helped her recover during their talk with her.
Well, Luis and Pilar both know Martin is back, and they
are both distraught over it. I keep wondering why Sheridan isn't
more supportive of Luis and less worried about Mrs. Wheeler's feelings, though.
I mean, she doesn't even know this is her mother and she should be as
angry as Luis that this woman is living as Martin Fitzgerald's wife
instead of Pilar, his real wife. Now I'm just waiting for Katherine
to finally acknowledge she is Sheridan's mother, alive and well, so
Sheridan can see how Luis feels for once. I have a feeling she will
still back her mother, though, and that will drive a knife right
through Luis' and Pilar's hearts. They really don't deserve that.
And I don't care how many times they say they had to leave to save
everyone's lives, it doesn't make it any more palatable to know they have
been living as husband and wife all these years. He knew he had a
wife and kids back home and so did she, but neither of them seem to have
cared. Now, that's dirty where I come from. I just can't see
the justification for trying to make these two some kind of heroes.
It is never going to happen, in my opinion. Never.
Well, Gwen and Ethan are trying to keep a stiff upper lip,
but the fact is Gwen may still never be the mother of her own child.
I have a feeling that because her eggs were so messed up that the baby
that was the strongest is Theresa's and that's the one that has been
saved, so there will be no real baby for Gwen. Now, I don't know how
Theresa thinks she will end up with both kids no matter who the mother is,
either. This whole story is just strange, but....darn it, I just
have to see what happens! I feel so cheap!
Ok, that's enough for this week. It looks like next
week is going to be a good one, too, and I can't wait to see what will
happen. I'll meet you back here next week to discuss it with you.
Here's hoping it will be good news.
