Passions Highlight of the Week

By Clorinda

Week of 6/30 - 7/2/03

Passions was it's typically slow self this week. Thanks to Wimbledon, it was only shown three times anyway.

Passions fans got to see a very pregnant and very hungry Kay pig out as she gave into her cravings. Tabitha gave in to her weird cravings too, with some colorful results.

Edna is still panicking that she will be going to prison for Beth and Charlie's kidnapping crime. Edna even went as far as to try to hide under a lampshade.

Precious had a very romantic daydream about her true love Luis. She kept envisioning herself walking the green mile. All the while, she is thinking about Luis. I guess I am a pessimist by nature. I am afraid that if the writers keep this up with Precious and Luis, Galen Gering (Luis) may get tired of sharing the spotlight with an ape and want out of his contract. Let's face it, some Passions fans may think this whole love affair is funny, but to an actor it may look a little degrading.

The highlight of the week goes to the fire that Eve deliberately set to the Blue Note. Eve is sick and tired of Liz blackmailing her. (SO ARE WE!!!!) Eve felt that if she burned down the Blue Note, Liz would leave town (HA!) and she could never use the club to destroy Whitney as Liz threatened. This whole thing with Liz has gone too far. Liz now has no redeeming qualities. I know that there are some real "baddies" on the show. But, each character has some (at least one) good quality. Even the demons are at least interesting. That is more than I can say for Liz. She is not funny like Rebecca. She doesn't slip and show a human side, like Julian does occasionally. I sometimes feel sorry for Ivy for losing the love of her life. It left her warped but I can at least stand her. Tabitha is funny as well as interesting. And please remember that she did love her Timmy. Liz loves no one. I was shocked that she could so coldly threaten to destroy her own niece. She is a boring, one dimensional, one line, one thought character. I am just heart broken that it's not Liz who is in the burning inferno. We all know that Whitney, Chad, Fox and Theresa will get out. The question is when and how. Also is this Theresa's third brush with death?? I've lost track. Let's see...1. She was on death row. 2. She almost died giving birth. 3. She threw herself down an elevator shaft to save Ethan. 4. Trapped in a burning building. If I've forgotten any, please let me know. This makes 4. Let's hope she is part cat. If so, she has another five lives coming to her.

Until next week.......Clorinda
