Michael: What makes you think that I killed Spencer Truman?

Rex: Drop the act. We're alone. We both know you did it. And I felt terrible because I'm the one who set you off.

Michael: What?

Rex: When I told you Spencer knew you and Marcie had Todd's son. I wiped your prints off the bloody scissors -- that's what I meant when I said I was protecting you.

Michael: Ok, I get that. But what made you think I killed him in the first place?

Rex: I was looking for Todd. I was about to tell him that his son was dead. I had the doctored death certificate for him, and I saw you.

Michael: You saw me where?

Rex: Outside Blair's room. You were standing by the door, holding the doorknob. Something happened, and before you saw me, you took off running. I saw your face, Michael. You looked sick, like you had just done something awful.
