What's Love Got to Do With It

As the song say, what's love got to do with it? Certainly nothing when it comes to Jen and Rex's marriage. For him it's the money, for her it's the chance to prove Joey wrong.

When Jen was locked in the asylum by Troy, Rex was almost the last person to discover it and then his display of sympathy convinced me he was truly a loving husband, not! His lack of emotion only proved that he and Jen (not to mention Joey), though deserving of each other in all aspects, don't love each other and their marriage is a fraud.

Between him wasting her money and running Ultra Violet and her chasing after Joey with relentless determination, it's a wonder they ever see each other!

Rex isn't to busy though, to try and ruin Jen's growing “love affair” with the young currit. He gets a private eye to follow Jen, take snapshots of her sinning ways, and then prepares to ruin both hers and lover boy‘s lives by handing the photo over to Andrew.

Isn't it nice to know that your husband loves you even if he doesn't really love you?

Losing Grip

We all know that Troy's twin, Colin, had a very loose definition of right and wrong, which ended in his untimely end. Troy, seems to be following in his brother's footsteps. In a few short months he's gone from lovable, family-oriented doctor to womanizing, terrorizing psycho on the rampage.

He's broken work ethic codes (sleeping with many of his coworkers), he's abused his medical degree (driving Lindsay insane again before drugging her and committing her to an insane asylum), threats (Gabrielle), murder (Claire), and  deceit (tricking Jen into padded room with her mother), and the list goes on and on.

What really solidified his maniac status in my mind was locking Gabrielle in the hospital morgue to slowly freeze to death and then putting on a reproduction of Romeo and Juliet between himself and Nora.

For a maniac though, he's still got a conscious. He bounces between good/bad and doing the right/wrong thing. He confessed what he did to Gabrielle, but then in the blink of an eye he's back to crazy.

In the end of this Romeo and Juliet tale though, only one lover ends terribly. Despite his recent lose of reality and sentence to St. Anne's, Troy was a good character and he'll be missed. A little bit. Bye Ty!

For Love, Justice or Security

Tough cop Antonio Vega has been in sticky situations before, but nothing compares to his current situation with Kerri, the baby, Jessica and his job.

We've all seen the “Love Or Justice” commercials playing relentlessly. The writers seem to  be dragging this thing out like it's some grand choice that could forever alter OLTL history or change the course of time. Well, to tell you the truth, I think they're over exaggerating.

Sure, it's a tough choice. You have to choose between being a cop or being with Jessica, being with Jamie and trying to restart a relationship with Kerri or exploring what is starting with Jessica. It is tough!

But writers are spinning it completely differently. They're making it seem as if he'll one if he chooses the other. We all know that he'll still have Jessica as a friend if he chooses Kerri and Jamie or vise versa. The only instance that my theory would be wrong is if he chose justice for a man he loathed (Mitch Laurence) over the emotion growing in his heart (his love for Jessica).

I, personally, like Jessica and Antonio. The dynamics between them is, well, dynamic. Rich girl looking for depth and happiness not related with money and tough, but sensitive cop rebuilding his life after the mother of his child let him believe a life-changing lie.

Kerri lied to Antonio, torn his heart and soul in two, and then had the audacity to return and try to have a relation with him with a second to breathe. I support Antonio's decision to be in Jamie's life and see where God leads him in his love life- down the path that leads to Jess or Kerri.

One question though, whatever happened to Seth? I know he broke up with Jess, but he didn't come back and he was never mentioned again.

It Wasn't Me

When I think of the current Blair/Kevin/Kelly story line, it reminds me of the Shaggy song “It Wasn't Me”. Sounds like the line Kevin feed to his wife when she questioned him on cheating.

It seems Mrs. Kevin Buchanan had been receiving letters, e-mails and phone calls from someone assuring her that her husband had his ‘hand in someone else's cookie jar.' He assured her that he loved only her and he hadn't slept with anyone.

Then what would you call what he was doing with Blair? He didn't sleep with her, but he wasn't comparing notes or chasing stories. If I remember correctly, they were making out like teenagers on the jet. Or was that a dream sequence?

As much as he wishes it had been, the truth is, the two reports seem to have a thing for each other. And just as they were getting ready to explore their feelings, Kevin's wife appears in town. What a coincidence! After of weeks of being of alone in Texas, she hoped on a plane and without notice arrived in Llanview. Why don't I buy that?

To top things off, now Kelly wants Blair to help her smoke out the possible home-wrecker. Doesn't that sound like great idea Kelly?

When Bad Things Happen To Good People

What is wrong with Americans today? We're all for freedom of speech until someone says or does something we don't like, then we lash out at them. It happened with the Dixie Chicks and now it's happening with Marcie.

As many of you may or may not know, the Dixie Chick controversy was about something dumb. I understand that it was really stupid for them to state they were ashamed of Bush's actions and that he was a Texan.

It was also wrong for millions of people, both fans and not, to destroy their works of art because they don't agree with their point of view.

Same thing is happening to Marcie. People are not happy about what's she's saying and doing, so they're terrorizing her, her friends, and loved ones. What I really love about this story line though, is that Viki is searching for those who are trashing Marcie's life and trying to stop the hate. Another positive note is that people are coming out of the woodwork to support Marcie and Al's decisions. Good job writers!
