Beth: Why start now?

Alan: I think it's terrible, what has happened to Coop. I understand what you're going through.

Beth: The only man who understood anything about me is dead.

Lizzie: No. No, thanks. I'm fine. I was going to call Bill.

Cyrus: Why?

Lizzie: Because... I don't know why. Because my dad is back. Because Coop is... because Coop is dead. And my mom is... I don't know what my mom is. I guess I just wanted to hear his voice, hear him tell me that everything is going to be okay. But I can't hear... listen to a word that he says, anyway. So what am I doing?

Cyrus: Well, I think you're just reaching out.

Lizzie: No. I think I actually just hit rock bottom, and I'm just trying to dig and dig and dig, and see how much lower I can get.

Cyrus: You're really hard on yourself.

Lizzie: You have no idea. That is your job.

Cyrus: What?

Lizzie: I think I'm going to add that to your list of duties. You are going to be my official butt-kicker. If you see that I need a swift kick to keep my on track, then you do that. You keep me away from Bill. Okay? I don't care if you have to rip my fingers off of the phone. Don't let me call him, okay?

Cyrus: I got it.

Lizzie: Do you think you can handle that?

Cyrus: You can count on me, Lizzie.

Alan: Beth, it's been my experience... that it's not wise to make decisions based on feelings. So I think that we should probably wait just a while to reschedule our wedding.

Beth: What?

Alan: You said I do.

Beth: Yeah, well, I don't, not anymore.
