Beth: Let go of me, Alan.

Alan: Why, Beth? So you can run back to young Mr. Bradshaw-- your daughter's ex-boyfriend-- your new lover?

Beth: Coop? This is about Coop? What, you think that book is about me because there's a blonde on the cover?

Alan: No, no, not because of the cover. Because I saw you and him making love at Company. That's what I wanted to talk with you about. That's why we went to Towers. So I could tell you that I forgive your little indiscretion. God knows I've made mistakes; I'm not perfect. We could put this behind us and move on. Get married. And I could finally have the marriage to you that I have always wanted. But when we arrive at Towers, I hear him reading passages from; this book, and it dawns on me that this wasn't just a little fling or chance to try to renew your youth. No. You actually believe this is real, and you took my love and publicly humiliated me. The laughing stops now.

Beth: What do you want from me, Alan?

Alan: You will marry me, of course.

Beth: No, no. I won't marry you, no.

Alan: Really? Well, then, you don't care about him as much as you say you do.

Beth: No, what... didn't you learn anything from Tammy’s death?

Alan: Yes, I did learn. I learned to be careful who I hire. Now you and I are going to get married, and no one will question it. Peyton will grow up in a home with her mommy and her daddy. And her mommy is going to have plenty of time to raise her, because you can forget about this silly notion of becoming a lawyer.

Beth: Alan, please.

Alan: Just like you've always said, Beth: Family first. You have an hour to decide.

( Knock on the door )

Marina: Just a minute. Hey!

Remy: Hey! Going somewhere?

Marina: Yes, actually. Mallet and I have a couple days off work, so we are going to the mountains.

Remy: Ooh, skiing.

Marina: No, sex. Lots and lots of sex.

Remy: ( Laughs ) Okay, too much information.

Marina: Sorry. I guess we've just had our minds wrapped around these adoption agencies trying to get a kid.

Remy: Yeah.

Marina: We kind of forgot that we were newlyweds.

Remy: Got it. Lot of sex.

Olivia: My heart was failing, and Natalia, she was a maid at my hotel. The only thing I knew about her was her husband.

Doris: Right. Gus Aitoro.

Olivia: Mm-hmm. And because I didn't want to die alone-- me being me, I... I made a play for him.

Doris: Well, this story gets better and better.

Olivia: It's not a story, it's my life. And you know that Gus died in a motorcycle accident. And Natalia, she... she agreed to give me his heart. I mean, after everything I did-- after trying to steal her husband-- she agreed to do that for me. Would you have done that? I couldn't have done that. But see, that's just who she is. She's just innately good. She's decent, she's kind, she's warm, she's beautiful and she's a lot stronger than people give her credit for. She has worked her whole life-- and not for herself, but for other people. So even after I got out of the hospital-- and I didn't want to live-- she fought for me. She fought for me to live. And not just for me, but for my daughters, because she wanted them to have their mother there. And now we have a home, and it's different. but it's safe and it's warm and it's decent-- and that's because of her. That's because of who she is. That's because of what she makes it. ( Sighs ) What are you looking at?

Doris: I wish a man would talk about me the way you just talked about her.

Olivia: I told you, we're friends. And if you do anything to hurt her or my daughter...

Doris: Relax, relax. This is not personal, okay? It's just politics. At least for me.

Buzz: He just got an offer from Stanford. You can do anything you want to me, but keep your hand off my son.

Alan: Wait, wait, wait. Stanford? Buzz, there's an opportunity that could make us all happy. The only thing you have to do is make sure he takes that job.

Buzz: And forget about Beth.

Alan: He gets a career, I get my wife and you, Buzz, get a franchise. ( Laughs ) Now, for once in your life, do something smart.

Buzz: Screw you! Screw you! You think I would sell out my son to keep this place? That's what you do; that's what the Spaulding’s do, not the Cooper’s. You can keep this damn place for all I care. Now get the hell out.
