Beth: It's not what you think.

Lizzie: Whenever people say that, it's usually exactly what I think. Unless that was a random, one-time thing that I saw. You slipped, and Coop caught you with his lips.

Reva: Shayne's in crisis, and you're in here having a couple of beers.

Josh: Reva, we came in here looking for you and Dinah. You both flew out of there so fast.

Jeffrey: Is she across the street getting stitches?

Reva: I'm the one who is pregnant with cancer. Dinah could have taken me easily. Was anybody worried about that?

Josh: No.

Buzz: No.

Jeffrey: No. We knew you could take her.

Lizzie: Coop! Mom, we're talking about Coop!

Beth: And what about Bill? Have you forgotten that I was married to Bill? I'm just-- sometimes you can't help how you feel. It just happens. Look, I don't want to go tit-for-tat with you. Coop appreciates me. He sees value in me. I had forgotten what it feels like to have a man care for you like that.

Lizzie: You are, just a huge cliché. This is not some big, swooping love affair, Mom! This is you going all cougar on your boy toy tutor because your life turned out to be such a bummer. And you're taking advantage of Granddad's money and power to go to law school because you're so damned bored.

Beth: Don't take your disappointment out on me. I am fighting for my future. One where I can belong to this family without being a slave to it. One where I can stand on my own and take care of myself and my children. Now, I am sorry that things didn't work out between you and Bill. I am sorry for all of the disappointments in your life! But that should make you understand better than anyone what a rare gift it is to be happy. I am not asking that you support me. But do not betray me.

Josh: If he had been doing it in front of your face, it wouldn't have changed the outcome. The woman our son loved is dead. Now, if Dinah and Jeffrey hadn't looked into it, we still might not even know about it.

Reva: Wait. So now your defending Dinah, too?

Josh: It's one of those "It takes a village" moments, Reva. Our son is hurting. He needs our help, that's true. He needs everything he can get from us, but he also needs help from other people. So if someone is willing to take the initiative-- Jeffrey, I appreciate what you tried to do for our son.

Jeffrey: Thank you. I did it for you, Reva.

Josh: And that's why you should appreciate him.

Jeffrey: Thank you, Josh.

Josh: You're welcome, Jeffrey.

Reva: ( Laughs ) What is going on here?

Jeffrey: We're trying to take care of you, since you won't take care of yourself.
